First of all, the car is also listed locally and has interested parties. If sold, this auction stops regardless any biddings. Car will be sold 'AS-IS' with no warranty or guaranty of any kind. You should tow/track away.

This is a much loved 1986 sports model 325ES manual 5 speed, sunroof, leather seats with less than 200K miles (working odometer), VIN# is WBAAB5406G9634447. Strong engine and should be good for another 200K+. Was a great car for me and very good condition for the age. Black metallic paint looks nice and shiny but have few small rust spots (ONE largest I just found is ~3/4 US quarter on the hood, just used original clear touchup to seal it) that can be easily fixed with BMW touch up paint. Found a new larger rush spot near ground on driver side. Have not driven for 5-6 years and has been parked inside my garage. Had new tires (still holds air which I inflate from time to time) and interstate battery. I thought I would convert it to a EV car or street racer one day but got no time or money right now (also need garage space).  BMW made better cars those days compare to last 10 years (junky imho). This car was really fun to drive (try spin in a parking lot in snow - did once). To my surprise the very last time I drove into my garage few years ago the clutch felt weak and bit noisy (not sure b/c it was not driving for long time. Before that it was all good). Thick leather seats look good for the age (except driver seat has 2 places where seams came apart on left edge - one about 10" another 4", looks like repairable). Manually adjustable M style sports front seats. Some large cracks on dash board. The glove box latch is broken and is bolt/glue to shut. Just found the passenger side a section of aluminum trim near roof is missing (not very noticeable if you dont know it's there). Btw, the car is all original, including nice leather M steering wheel (that's built better than new BMWs)

Can't think anything else major. I have clear title certificate! Feel feel to ask any questions.

ALSO, the passenger side windows motor may not work (it is closed as is)...cant remember clearly. Cant remember if AC still work/cold. The hood is not popping open (release handle/cable is fine) - pretty sure just need some lube and push. My bmw 'M' front plate (in the center for European license I think) was stolen long time ago so it just showing the bare aluminum (you can put whatever there to look good).

Actual photos...rolled out garage for taking photos per requests:

BMW expounds on i8 design and performance in new videos

Fri, 03 Jan 2014

At this point, there isn't much we don't know about the 2015 BMW i8, so BMW is starting to focus its attention on reassuring consumers that the future of BMW won't abandon the past. In these two recently released videos, BMW answers questions prospective buyers might have about about the new model's design and performance.
In the design video, BMW explains how the i8's styling is intended to be practical, with aerodynamics and fuel efficiency in mind, yet still have a sporty and dynamic look. The performance video aims to show that the plug-in hybrid can be fuel efficient while still delivering plenty of performance, and it shows an animation about how the i8's drive systems work together. Scroll down to watch both videos on this bold green supercar.

Former BMW M boss and Maserati CEO killed in freak motorcycle accident

Mon, 19 Aug 2013

It's a tragic coincidence that on the same weekend the BMW M4 Coupe Concept was introduced in Monterey, one of the men most integral to BMW's M and Motorsports divisions, Karl-Heinz Kalbfell, was killed in England. Kalbfell, a vintage motorcycle enthusiast, was set to compete in the Lansdowne Classic Series at Brands Hatch and had an accident during a practice session. After going wide at Druids Corner and falling, he was hit by a competitor following close behind and died of his injuries after being transported to hospital.
Kalbfell, an engineer, began his career at BMW in 1977 in the communications department; a decade later he was chairman of BMW M GmbH, overseeing development of some of the cars responsible for the myth of M. In 1994 he was named chairman of BMW Motorsport, and his cap full of feathers includes getting the BMW V12 into the McLaren F1, getting the BMW V8 into two Morgan cars, along with developing BMW's Formula One engine and return to the sport. Not incidentally, he also assumed leadership of Project Rolls-Royce after BMW bought the British marque in 1998, which means he oversaw the Goodwood factory upfit and the creation of the Phantom.
He left Rolls-Royce for a brief stint at Fiat, heading Alfa Romeo and Maserati, then went into consulting for clients like Lotus and Paragon, who built the Artega GT. As Autocar notes, Kalbfell "had an abiding sense that customers needed to be attracted to cars by their aura and reputation, not just their engineering." He will be missed.

BMW-Toyota joint sports car project is on like Donkey Kong

Mon, 30 Dec 2013

It's official - there will be a jointly developed sports car from BMW and Toyota. While the two auto giants signed a Memorandum of Understanding that pledged to pursue "joint development of architecture and components for a future sports vehicle" back in June of 2012, in the interim, it has remained unclear how those plans had been progressing. BMW has finally officially confirmed that the German and Japanese manufacturers will be codeveloping a pair of sports cars in addition to pursuing other disciplines including fuel cell systems and lightweight technologies.
"We have agreed on a joint architecture for a sports car. What is important is that there will be two different vehicles that are authentic to the two brands," BMW Development Chief Herbert Diess told Germany's Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Reuters is reporting. This is a very, very big step for both brands, but now the speculation can officially begin as to what the products of this agreement will look like.
There's ample reason to believe that the BMW-Toyota tie up will result in a Supra successor based on comments made by the chief engineer of the GT86/FR-S program, Tatsuya Tada, back in August. Follow that with a rumor from earlier this month that Toyota could debut a Supra concept car at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show later this month, and we could be seeing the fruits of this partnership sooner rather than later.
