See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"The condition of my vehicle is fair. The head gasket is leaking badly and needs to be replaced immediately to make the vehicle functional, along with the serpentine belt - this is the main defect of the vehicle, and why it has no reserve. Moderate exterior defects include: Chipped paint on the front valence, hood and bumper. Clear coat is starting to peel on the hood, however the paint is intact. there are a few MILD paint scrapes/scuffs around the car. Overall the car's exterior is in good/fair condition, however it is a used car that has been driven on the highway for years and it has a few blemishes. The interior of the car is in good shape: The driver's seat leather is faded and abraded where you slide to sit in, the carpet has moderate staining, the driver's side seat heat warmer doesn't warm, the center console is incomplete and there are very few other slight wears in the interior. Overall, the vehicle is in good, but definitely used condition."

HELLO POTENTIAL BUYERS!!

My name is A1C Poovey, I am active duty in the USAF. I am forced to part with my wonderful white BMW due to budget constraints from having 2 vehicles, keeping it stored, and the inability to perform the work from my current base location required to bring the vehicle to drivable condition. I am going to be very upfront about the vehicles known defects, and mechanical problems because this car needs some work to be in great condition. The head gasket needs to be replaced immediately, and the serpentine belt should also be replaced soon. The vehicle is also due for a tune-up and oil change.

The vehicle has no history of mechanical failure or frame damage, and has a clean title. The exterior and interior defects include: Paint chipping, slight paint abrasions, clear coat beginning to peel on the hood, minor dents, drivers side door handle functions fine but is showing signs of wear, the driver's side seat heat warmer is doesn't warm up. The interior defects include: Leather scuffs/cracking and scrapes where the driver enters the vehicle, carpet staining, incomplete center console, the shift knob is loose, the on board computer screen works fine but the screen needs to be replaced, and other minor blemishes. The vehicle is very dirty in the pictures, however once washed the paint is in great shape aside from its minor defects listed above. Overall the car is in good shape and is lightning quick when running! I have an aftermarket front lip, European taillights, and a full custom cat-back exhaust with a very aggressive sound!

These are all of the defects/problems I am aware of. It truly saddens me to have to place my baby up for auction, however I cannot afford to have 2 vehicles any longer.

The vehicle is used, and is being sold as is with no warranty. My loss is your gain, there is no reserve on the vehicle. If you have any questions regarding its sale or the vehicles condition please email me at RyanMPoovey@gmail.com.

2014 BMW R NineT

Tue, 26 Aug 2014

BMW is taking a page from the Harley-Davidson playbook with its groundbreaking R NineT. A retro cafe racer with an urban hooligan twist, the bike is fully customizable from fork to exhaust. Of course, any motorcycle can be customized, but the fact that BMW has built its newest bike to encourage modification using parts that can be swapped with simple tools is a radical move for a motorcycle maker best known for its plug-and-play touring bikes.
To underscore exactly how radical, BMW has even partnered with custom heavy-hitter Roland Sands Design, which developed the initial concept for the bike and is now manufacturing a full line of parts and accessories for the R NineT, including radial valve covers ($950), retro racing saddles ($400-$420), radial gauge housing ($400) and a radial headlight bezel ($250), among other things, all of which can be swapped with a socket wrench or screwdriver instead of a hacksaw, wire cutters and TIG welder.
Alas, the bike I tested for two weeks was stock, so consider it a blank canvas.

BMW i8's three-cylinder sounds like it's shaping up quite nicely

Tue, 25 Mar 2014

We've run across some rather interesting news... or perhaps we should say interesting sounds. The folks from Bimmerpost have scrounged up a short video showing a preproduction BMW i8 running through a few gears in Sport mode at a quick pace, and if you were concerned that the somewhat eco-friendly nature of the upcoming German sports car would neuter its ability to stir the aural senses, fret not.
Judging by the lovely noise coming from the engine compartment of the i8 in the video, BMW's expertise in tuning high-strung, small-bore engines - remember, BMW Motorrad has quite the penchant for well-conceived motorcycle engines - has come through loud and clear. Now, it's worth mentioning that BMW's controversial Active Sound technology will be included with the i8, so the production car may not sound exactly like this version, which is running with the tech disabled. Owners won't have the ability to disable Active Sound on production i8s.
In related news, Bimmerpost reports that BMW will equip the i8 with an external Active Sound Design system to go along with its Pedestrian Protection System. That means those on the outside will likely hear piped engine recordings from the rear and a sort of "howl" from the front in order to warn pedestrians that the otherwise quiet (when running on electricity, that is) car is approaching. It will also feature technology that can stop the car before contacting a pedestrian.

BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe spotted wearing minimal camo, M Sport pack

Mon, 14 Oct 2013

The new BMW 4 Series is essentially the coupe version of the latest 3 Series. So it would stand to reason that the four-door version of the 4 Series, in turn, would be the 3 Series - right? Well, yes and no.
Just as BMW offers both a 5 Series sedan and a four-door version of the 6 Series called the Gran Coupe, so, too, will its 4-Series family expand. So following the release of the new 4 Series Convertible, here we have the latest batch of spy shots showing the upcoming 4 Series Gran Coupe - which in turn should not be confused with the hunchbacked 3 Series Gran Turismo, which is more of a sporty wagon than a four-door coupe.
The nearly ready test vehicle pictured here is wearing only minimal camouflage to hide some last few details, but also appears to be wearing the M Sport package that will bridge the gap (at least, visually speaking) between the base models and the M4 Gran Coupe that is all but certain to follow.
