I'm sad to part with this car but I have too many cars and not enough
space. Car is in great mechanical shape but has a few issues (detailed
below). I was driving this car 95 miles a day prior to buying a new
daily and have owned it for 4 years and 40k miles. The last 19.5k miles
have averaged 29.7 mpg.
Major items replaced while I owned the car: Rear shocks, all 4 wheel bearings, front lower control arm bushings, front/rear brakes, knock sensor, primary o2 sensor, spark plugs, cabin air filter, blower motor resister, alternator... and that's just off the top of my head. As I said, I drove this car daily so I was proactive with maintenance. I put 40k miles on this car and it never stranded me (got close on the alternator failure but I was able to limp it home). Modifications: -Russell stainless braided brake lines -AEM cold air intake -Tokico struts front/rear -cheapo ebay front grille -CD player with old style iPod connection -3 rear windows tinted Known issues: -A little rust. Bottom of passenger door is the worst but there is a little starting on the driver's side rear wheel well. -Rear wiper is missing. It snapped due to the weight of snow last winter and I never replaced it. It's kind of useless anyways and as a bonus the rear window washer squirts 15' with the wiper gone (very handy when someone is tailgating you!) -A/C is weak. Probably just needs a recharge. It worked last year and then I quit driving it in March. -2 small rock chips in the windshield (size of a quarter). The newest one is 2 years old and the other one was there when I bought it. Neither has spread in the winter so it's nothing more than an annoyance. -Driver's seat has a small tear in the bolster and some wear to the bottom -Steering wheel/shift knob leather is worn. -Front windshield washer does not work. Never investigated it but it should be a simple fix. -Tires have life left but I would replace them before winter. -Some scattered dings/dents/scratches you would expect in a 12 year old car with 150k. There is one larger one below the passenger door (pictured) but you wouldn't see it unless you're looking for it. I am willing to deliver this car within 75 miles of my home in Round Lake after the $500 deposit is received provided the hours align with when I am free.

Audi pits Star Trek's new Spock versus the original
Tue, 07 May 2013The only thing that makes a sci-fi geek happier than William Shatner and Patrick Stewart in the same room is when two Spocks collide. Audi has somehow managed to do just that ahead of the release of the second film in this historic franchise's new go-round called Star Trek Into Darkness, which opens in theaters nationwide on May 17th.
We won't spoil the fun (you can, and should, watch it yourself below), suffice it say that the original Spock, Leonard Nimoy, steals the show from the franchise's new Spock, Zachary Quinto. The short video has the two Vulcans battling wits in a series of challenges that quickly comes to involve cars, but Audi manages to outwit them both in the final scene by leaving these logical beings with an emotion that resembles amazement.
This is the second summer blockbuster that Audi has tied its four rings to, the other being Iron Man 3. Whereas Tony Stark's garage and the Marvel universe have more Audis per square mile than people, we aren't expecting to see an Audi logo on the warp drive of the USS Enterprise in this latest Trek tale.

Audi RS Q3 gets snarlier, hits 62 mph in 4.8 seconds [w/video]
Thu, 06 Nov 2014Well, that was quick. A mere 20 months after its debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, Audi has issued a fairly significant update to its RS Q3 crossover. A light exterior refresh - the most noticeable change is that the grille surround and headlights are now joined - belies more significant changes under the compact crossover's hood.
Power from the 2.5-liter, turbocharged five-cylinder has been boosted nicely from 310 horsepower to 340, while torque has jumped from 309 pound-feet to 332 lb-ft. The result of this extra thrust is that the tiny CUV can now scamper to 62 miles per hour in a seriously quick 4.8 seconds, rather than the original RS Q3's 5.5-second sprint. A new fifth-generation multi-plate clutch is fitted to the seven-speed S-tronic dual-clutch transmission, which Audi claims will now deliver even quicker shifts.
Lighter brake rotors with ridiculous eight-piston calipers in the front provide what we imagine is a lot of stopping power, while Audi continues to offer an optional adaptive damper system. 19-inch wheels are standard while 20s are optional.
