1987 Alfa Romeo Spider Quadrifoglio desirable Black/Gray/Red combination. This Quadrifoglio is a totally unrestored example spider. She has all books, records dating back to new including service receipts, owners manual and original window sticker. The car has had 3 previous owners since new. The cars autocheck score 54 out of 50 shows 2 owners but does not go back to 1987. The autocheck is clean with no reported accidents. The paint on the car is original and is excellent with only a few small blemishes. The nose does have small chips. I did not respray this as I wanted to keep this car original. This Alfa runs like a clock. The motor revs freely, the transmission shifts perfectly , the clutch feels great, steering and suspension very tight. This Alfa has newPirelli P6 tires, wheels are not curbed. The interior on this car is like new. The seats have almost no wear, door panels outstanding, original red carpet excellent. The dealer installed a Blaupunkt radio with cd shuttle in the trunk when new,Alpine speakers were added. A stunning wooden Momo steering wheel and wood shifter add the finishing touches to the interior. A new cloth soft top is now getting installed pic will be added over the weekend.I think one would be hard pressed to find a nicer original example Quadrifoglio.Bid with confidence or give me a call 561 287 1277 with any questions. Marchionne threatens to move Alfa production out of Italy

Fri, 12 Jul 2013

Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne was unsurprisingly frank when asked by reporters about potential investments in Italian manufacturing for Alfa Romeo and Maserati, giving the Italian government the ultimatum, "Italy should decide if they want [Alfa Romeo's relaunch] to happen here or not as Fiat and Chrysler have several alternatives." Them's fightin' words.
Fiat's issue with the government stems directly from its courtroom clashes with the Fiom labor union. The two are currently embroiled in proceedings over longer shifts and shorter breaks, as Fiom has so far refused to sign a new contract citing revised labor laws that it says are anti-union.
According to Bloomberg, Fiat will be spending over $2.5 billion on development of eight new Alfas and six new Maseratis, in a bid to wrest some of the luxury pie away from BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi. But that's only going to happen if the government is willing to play ball and make life easier on Fiat.

Marchionne uses racial epithet to describe what must power future Alfa Romeo models

Wed, 16 Jan 2013

Sergio Marchionne and his Fiat empire have a lot riding on the US return of the Alfa Romeo brand. The endeavor has been in progress for what feels like a lifetime - certainly for as long as Fiat has had the Chrysler brand under its Italian wing.
It's not surprising that Fiat CEO Marchionne needs a perfect first Alfa to mark a return to America. And here's where things get dicey. Nobody would argue with Marchionne's insistence that Alfa Romeo's be powered by Italian engines - as Marchionne himself is quoted to have said at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, "There are some things that are well done in Italy."
If not what he said, then, it's how he said it that has eyebrows raised. "I cannot come up with a schlock product, I just won't. I won't put an American engine into that car. With all due respect to my American friends, it needs to be a wop engine." Wait, what's that?

Chrysler appoints new heads of Alfa Romeo and Ram

Mon, 18 Aug 2014

Chrysler has announced to two key appointments to its senior leadership, both of them taking immediate effect. First up is Reid Bigland, who has been named head of the Alfa Romeo brand for North America. Bigland has served until now as head of the Ram Truck brand, a portfolio he now hands over to Robert Hegbloom, who had served until now as its director.
As a result of the appointments, both Bigland and Hegbloom will take up seats on Chrysler's NAFTA Leadership Team, and Bigland will also join the Fiat Chrysler Group Executive Council - the highest decision-making body in the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles empire.
As per Sergio Marchionne's leadership style, Bigland will continue to serve in two major capacities, maintaining his role as president and CEO of Chrysler Canada. Other senior executives who hold multiple key portfolios include Harald Wester (who serves as the group's Chief Technology Officer and also overseas Alfa Romeo, Maserati and Abarth), Olivier Francois (group Chief Marketing Officer and head of the Fiat brand) and Michael Manley (head of the Asia-Pacific region and the Jeep brand).
