I am selling my dear Alfa Romeo Spider.
I purchased the car 3 years ago and unfortunately have not had the time and money to work on it. I will re post this ad in a day or two with pictures, and I will of course give preference to whoever contacts first. I purchased the vehicle from the original owner who did not take great care of it, the car did not run, was really dirty and as happens with these cars when not loved it started rusting. I have seen worse rust, however, there is rust in both rocker panels, and the spare tire rack is completely rusted. The car has a new tank, filter and pump. The injectors could probably do with some cleaning. The air hoses have all been replaced, and the car now runs. Transmission is ok, though 2nd gear doesn't hold too well. The car has a modified ECU (done by the previous owner). The top has a couple of holes. The interior of the car is not perfect but is comfortably usable, the seats are perfect. The paint is beginning to crack. The side mirrors were held on by tape when I got them and I haven't gotten around to fixing them. I also have the owners manual. This car is a great project, It runs and though imperfect I love driving it. I hope anyone interested would take good care of it, though it could also, sadly, make a good parts car. If you have any questions at all feel free to contact, I can provide additional pictures. I will not have the car shipped anywhere, however I can help with the arrangements. |

Just 45% of Fiat dealers are profitable, and they're angry about it
Mon, 07 Oct 2013<
On average, Fiat dealers have only been selling about 17 cars a month.
We've been wondering for some time how Fiat dealers in North America have been getting along with just one model range in their showrooms up until recently. Franchisees spent millions building, stocking and manning sleek new 'studio' showrooms, only to have but a single model to sell, the cherubic 500. And even with its many derivatives, the Cinquecento is still an inexpensive model with its attendant lower margins. Perhaps it should come as no surprise then, that just 45 percent of US Fiat dealers are said to be profitable.
CEO says Volkswagen's buying spree is over
Mon, 03 Sep 2012
After adding Italian motorcycle icon Ducati to its stable and spending $5.6 billion on the rest of Porsche, Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn says he's done shopping for a while.
"We have enough to do at the moment in taking our twelve brands to where we want to be," Winterkorn tells German newspaper Handelsblatt.
Marchionne uses racial epithet to describe what must power future Alfa Romeo models
Wed, 16 Jan 2013Sergio Marchionne and his Fiat empire have a lot riding on the US return of the Alfa Romeo brand. The endeavor has been in progress for what feels like a lifetime - certainly for as long as Fiat has had the Chrysler brand under its Italian wing.
It's not surprising that Fiat CEO Marchionne needs a perfect first Alfa to mark a return to America. And here's where things get dicey. Nobody would argue with Marchionne's insistence that Alfa Romeo's be powered by Italian engines - as Marchionne himself is quoted to have said at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, "There are some things that are well done in Italy."
If not what he said, then, it's how he said it that has eyebrows raised. "I cannot come up with a schlock product, I just won't. I won't put an American engine into that car. With all due respect to my American friends, it needs to be a wop engine." Wait, what's that?
