1980 Alfa Romeo Kamm-Tail Spider

Finished in Ferrari Red over a Black interior.

An extensive body and paint restoration completed by world renowned body shop "Coachwerks.com" better known for restoring million dollar Mercedes 300SL Gullwings. With tasteful upgrades like louvers in the hood and bumpers removed for a clean look. Wet sanded and polished to a mirror smooth finish.

All new or restored: performance suspension, Pirelli tires, exhaust, interior, gas tank, electrical, soft top, two sets of factory wheels, custom paint and powder coating under the hood, and the list goes on. Over $30,000 in receipts alone!

No proven drivetrain restoration but this car pulls strong, does not burn oil, compression good across all 4 cyl, Alfa mechanic suggested it has a performance cam, original mechanical fuel injection works flawlessly, suspension and steering is extremely tight (mostly new).  It does leave a little oil on the garage floor if sitting but what classic Italian doesn't?

This is the best classic I have ever owned and has proven itself on longer drives or just cruising around the city, if you are looking for a classic sports car this is a great example.

This car is advertised locally and I do reserve the right to remove it if it sells before the auction closes.

I can help to arrange shipping if needed.

Mazda and Fiat finalize deal for Alfa roadster, next-gen MX-5 Miata

Fri, 18 Jan 2013

Although a little bit later than expected, Mazda and Fiat have signed a final agreement that will bring a next-generation MX-5 Miata to the Japanese automaker and a new roadster to Alfa Romeo. When the proposed arrangement was announced back in May, the two automakers had hoped to seal the deal last year, but it doesn't appear that the production timeline for these cars has slipped any, with both expected to start rolling off assembly lines in 2015.
Other than a shared chassis with a rear-wheel-drive layout, it sounds like the two cars are still planned to be distinct in their own ways from their styling right down to their engines. Mazda will produce both cars at a plant in Hiroshima, Japan, but it isn't clear what role each automaker will play in the cars' developmental process. The big question, of course, is what clever portmanteau name we can come up with, like Toyobaru. Mazda Romeo is the easy choice, but Alfazda might roll off the tongue a little better.
Scroll down for a brief press release from both automakers.

Marchionne offers belated apology for 'wop engine' comment

Wed, 22 May 2013

Automotive News reports Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has issued a written apology for his comments regarding his decision to stick with an Italian engine for the upcoming Alfa Romeo 4C. As you may recall, back in January, Marchionne was quoted as saying, "I cannot come up with a schlock product, I just won't. I won't put an American engine into that car. With all due respect to my American friends, it has to be a wop engine." The CEO penned an apology to the Italian American ONE VOICE Coalition for using the racial epithet, saying that he made the comment in jest. Marchionne also said he realizes his remarks were unacceptable.
ONE VOICE, an organization aimed at fighting discrimination and stereotyping of Italian Americans, thanked Marchionne, Chrysler and Fiat for the apology. Marchionne is an Italian-born Canadian citizen, and he's gotten in trouble for other comments in the past. In 2011, he called high interest rates Chrysler was paying to the Canadian government "shyster rates." He apologized a day later.
