Up for sale is a fully-loaded flagship Volvo XC70 T6 AWD sport wagon.  This is an amazing Volvo to drive with incredible acceleration, handling, and long-distance comfort.  It's a superb sport wagon with classic styling and loaded with just about every feature offered in the 2011 model year.  It's also built by a company known for decades of legendary vehicle safety.  We purchased it about a year ago, but our growing family and need for more seats forces us to sell it and move into something larger.

Don't be fooled by its modest wagon styling...the XC70 T6 offers 300 horsepower and 325 ft-lb of torque from a 3.0L turbocharged inline-6 cylinder engine mated to the 6-speed Geartronic automatic transmission with manual shift option and all wheel drive.

The car is currently located in the Detroit metro area; however, we recently moved from Virginia and the car has never seen a Michigan winter.  It is garaged and dealer maintained.  The car has a clear title, but we need to satisfy the lien before securing the title.

Exterior Features

  • Black sapphire metallic exterior paint
  • Protective lower body cladding, excellent ground clearance, rear liftgate visor, and attractive brushed aluminum trim.
  • Rear backup camera, as well as front and rear parking sensors and dual, speed-dependent tilting mirrors.
  • Bluetooth keyless entry and ignition.
  • Original Michelin all-season tires with many more miles of life in them.
  • Towing package with low-profile 2-inch receiver hitch and 4-wire trailer plug.
  • Dual XENON headlights with active light bending technology that aims headlights into a corner.

Interior Features

  • Beautiful contemporary Swedish styling with charcoal gray leather, genuine wood, and brushed aluminum trim.
  • Amazing sport leather seats with great bolstering and padding, heat, and full power in the front (driver’s seat has memory).
  • Navigation system includes real-time traffic alerts and routing.
  • The center console includes two cup holders and two 12V power outlets (one in front and one for rear seats).
  • Rear seat is also leather and features a 40/20/40 split, three position adjustable headrests, and a fold-down center console.  The outboard rear seats have integrated, adjustable booster seats for small children.
  • The cargo area includes a retractable privacy cover and protective cargo mat.  The cargo area also has a sliding load floor, 12V power outlet, and under-floor storage compartment.  The liftgate is powered and is controlled at the dash, liftgate, or via remote control.
  • Interior features dual-zone automatic climate control, illuminated keyless entry, HomeLink garage door opener, and rain-sensing wipers.
  • The high-end Dynaudio audio system includes a 6-disc CD changer, Sirius satellite radio, 12 speakers, and both USB and Aux inputs.  Integrated cell phone Bluetooth with dash mounted controls.
  • Dark factory tint on rear windows.

Safety Features

  • This XC70 includes all the safety equipment one expects in a Volvo, such as a full complement of airbags and a whiplash protection system
  • Driver Alert Control system sounds a chime and displays a coffee cup symbol in the instrument panel when it senses the driver might be falling asleep or be distracted.
  • Lane departure warning system uses a camera to detect when the driver is swerving or losing concentration.  Blind Spot Indicator System detects other vehicles in the blind spot and illuminates a warning light.
  • Collision warning system uses adjustable radar sensors to signal the driver if a collision is imminent, pre-charging the brakes and actually applying them at the point where it judges that a collision is unavoidable.
  • Adaptive radar cruise control system maintains a set distance from the car in front.  Distance is completely adjustable.
  • Hill descent control slows the vehicle using braking and transmission to reduce and control vehicle speed on slippery hills.

Editors’ Picks February 2023 | Audi RS 3, electric G80 and a longtime favorite

Wed, Mar 1 2023

In this month’s set of EditorsÂ’ Picks, we see a wide variety of vehicles earn our recommended status. The Audi RS 3 is a truly stellar sedan with a killer engine, great handling and still enough comfort for daily use. Genesis finds its way onto the list again with its electric version of the G80 midsize sedan, and VolvoÂ’s XC90 still charms after all these years. In case you missed our previous Editors' Picks posts, hereÂ’s a quick refresher on whatÂ’s going on here. We rate all the new cars we drive with a 1-10 score. Cars that are exemplary in their respective segments get an EditorsÂ’ Pick designation. Those are the ones weÂ’d recommend to our friends, family and anybody whoÂ’s curious and asks the question. The list that youÂ’ll find below consists of every car we rated in January that earned an EditorsÂ’ Pick. 2023 Audi RS 3 Quick take: The Audi RS 3 keeps the passion alive with a superb sounding 5-cylinder engine and a torque-vectoring rear differential that massively ups the handling fun. Its interior is a little bland, but it's still a handsome Audi on the outside. Score: 8.0 What it competes with: Mercedes-AMG CLA 45, BMW M240i, Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing, VW Golf R Pros: Epic engine sound, fun AWD system, great handling and acceleration, attractive exterior styling Cons: Interior doesn't pop, expensive for its size From the editors: Road Test Editor Zac Palmer — "If you love a special engine, the Audi RS 3 is a car for you. Few powertrains sound and feel as special as the 5-cylinder engine in the RS 3, and the ferocity with which it accelerates will have you laughing your head off with every pull. The sheer performance out of this little machine is extraordinary, and I'd recommend it to anybody shopping for a small, luxury sports car daily. All that said, I wish Audi could've sorted out better steering and a suitable interior. As-is, both of those factors are negatives in a car that is almost all upside." In-depth analysis: 2023 Audi RS 3 First Drive Review: To hell with business cases   2023 Volvo XC90 2022 Volvo XC90 Recharge View 15 Photos Quick take: The XC90 may be old now, but key updates and a timeless design ensure it's competitive as ever. The Scandinavian interior design appeal has never faded, and now the Google-based infotainment system is fresh and snappy. Even the Recharge PHEV is an awesome alternative with great range and strong electric motor.

Best Large SUVs of 2024

Tue, Dec 19 2023

When it comes down to large SUVs, there's more to consider than price and just how large it is. First, it comes down to what's underneath the skin. Some are built on a truck-like body-on-frame chassis — this would be the traditional, literal definition of an "SUV." Others use car-like, unibody construction, which would make them a crossover. What really matters, though, is how you use them. For most American families, a large three-row crossover is going to be your best bet. They have loads of passenger and cargo space, and deliver superior fuel economy, handling and ride quality than those big traditional SUVs. They're cheaper, too. On the other hand, those traditional large SUVs like the Chevy Tahoe and Ford Expedition are better-suited for more heavy-duty tasks like towing. Most now have bigger third rows than big crossovers, while extended-length versions like the Chevy Suburban have way more cargo capacity behind their third rows than everything but an airport shuttle. As for luxury large SUVs, they fall into those same two categories as well, with American choices mostly being truck-based. The pros and cons of choosing one over another are similar. Below, you will find our list of the best large SUVs broken down into three categories: large family crossover, large traditional SUV and large luxury SUVs, which comprise both construction types.  Best Large Family Crossovers  |  Best Large Traditional SUVs  |  Best Large Luxury SUVs Best Large Family Crossovers 2024 Honda Pilot Why it stands out: Exceptional storage and cargo space; unique second-row functionality; refined ride; versatile and capable TrailSport; advanced AWDCould be better: Subpar acceleration with lackadaisical transmission and engine response; so-so driver assistance tech Read our full 2024 Honda Pilot Review The Honda Pilot was completely redesigned for 2023. It maintains its predecessor's family-friendly packaging and overall focus, but it has injected a welcome sense of style (especially in the TrailSport pictured above) that makes it stand out much better from the big crossover crowd. The Pilot's restrained adornment and classic proportions are refreshing compared to the increasingly busy Kia Telluride, Hyundai Palisade and Subaru Ascent. Let's talk about practicality, though, which is ultimately the Pilot's best attribute.
