This 2000 Volvo S80 T6 still looks and drives great. Fresh inside and out. The engine and transmission run, drive and shift just right. Very quiet. No wear on the leather seating, wood trim, door panels, dash, or carpets. Even original floor mats are fine. The center armrest only is worn. Never smoked in, no evidence of pets. Powerful HU-611 CD/cassette audio system, all glass is good, no corrosion or rust anywhere. How can that be with high miles? Mainly because it was 100% serviced by Volvo dealer technicians for at least the first 100,000+ miles (see photos of stamped books). Also use of KB air-filters. Also because it was meticulously driven by a lady doing a lot of Interstate commuting until she moved to Dallas, where a friend helped her get a new Honda because the T6 had a suspension knocking sound...and the remote locking didn't always work 100%. I bought the S80 from her. In the past year it has gotten a new starter, front brakes and rotors, lower control arm assembly, and sway bar links. Over rough spots or bumps the suspension knock is still there, on the right front. The steering and braking is very tight...so strut, mount, ball joints, bushings? I do not know, I am not a mechanic. This is for the auction winner to figure out. Drive it like it is or do some $TLC and lose the knock. 25-30 MPG on highway. It's ready for your first oil service soon. There are no leaks, and no oil loss or burn. Always starts first turn. All the exterior paint and trim appears to be factory original. There is a few small dings. Dual AC electronic climate control blows cold and hot (same time if you want), front and rear. Trip computer. Interior and exterior lighting works properly. Rear seats fold down 60/40. Front passenger seat also folds down. Airbags all around the interior. Seat belts all work. Traction Control. 225/55/17 matching 60% Avid tires on 17" alloy wheels, all balanced. Trunk is like new. Battery is fresh. Spare, jack, tools..appear never used. There are many other safety, performance, and luxury features, and this highline Volvo T6, which had an MSRP of $46,000, comes with a complete set of books and some records.
This is an authentic eBay NO RESERVE auction and the high bidder wins the Volvo S80 T6. I have the title in hand and require a $400 deposit via PayPal within 24 hours of the auction close. If you do not have a PayPal account, do not bid. If you cannot make the $400 deposit via PayPal within 24 hours of auction close, do not bid. Best luxury SUVs of 2022 and 2023
Mon, Sep 12 2022Once upon a time, the idea of a luxury SUV meant a Range Rover, and even that was pretty agricultural by modern standards. Then Jeep Grand Cherokees and Ford Explorers started offering fancy, range-topping versions followed soon by Lexus, BMW and Mercedes dipping their toes in the water. And then the floodgates opened. Today, there is a staggering number of luxury SUVs available in every shape, size and price point. There are electric luxury SUVs like the Tesla Model X and Jaguar I-Pace, as well as gas-swilling, high-performance SUVs like the BMW X5 M and Cadillac Escalade V. Sports car makers Porsche, Aston Martin and Lamborghini have even dived in. But of this great many, which are the best luxury SUVs? We sat down, scoured our reviews, took some votes, had some discussions and came up with the luxury SUVs we view as the best. They are listed alphabetically within the six segments listed below. Best Subcompact Luxury SUV  |  Best Compact Luxury SUV  |  Best Midsize Luxury SUV (Two-Row) Best Midsize Luxury SUV (Three-Row)  |  Best Flagship Luxury SUV (Two-Row)  |  Best Flagship Luxury SUV (Three-Row) Best subcompact luxury SUVs Mercedes-Benz GLB-Class Why it stands out: Outstanding space and versatility; legit luxury interior; amusing GLB 35 versionCould be better: Overwhelming and confusing tech interface Most subcompact luxury SUVs are a dubious value, with cramped interiors of marginal quality and unrefined driving dynamics. You'd be much better off paying less money for a loaded, non-luxury compact SUV. The Mercedes GLB is different, though. Its boxy design provides space few other subcompact SUV can match (luxury or otherwise), while its cabin design and feature content are in keeping with pricier Mercedes models. The quality's not exactly up to GLC standards, nor is driving refinement, but the difference is appropriate for how much you're saving and still perfectly acceptable. There's nothing dubious about buying a GLB.   Volvo XC40 Why it stands out: More features for the money; spacious and versatile interior; distinctive design; electric versionCould be better: Fuel-efficient base engine only available with FWD Most subcompact luxury models feel a bit like cheap knockoffs of their bigger, pricier brand mates. The XC40, by contrast, is a break from the Volvo norm in a good way.
Tina Fey sits down with Seinfeld for new CiCGC
Thu, 30 Jan 2014Recently Jerry Seinfeld went out for a videotaped cup of coffee with Jay Leno in a vintage Gmund Porsche. Switching coasts and cars, this time New York's own son returns to his city for a jaunt in a 1967 Volvo 1800S with fellow New Yorker Tina Fey for the latest episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.
The trip takes them uptown to Cuban coffee shop Floridita in Harlem, then back downtown to a pastry shop. On the way, Jerry calls out a photo shoot for using a fake Porsche, and Fey admits she doesn't have a driver's license. Driving cars, she says, "is like Twitter to me." Which she also doesn't do - she lasted seven tweets in 2009.
You can check out the episode below as they go in search of coffee, the rare guanabana/soursop juice, Jerry's even more elusive product placement and the last Cronut in NYC.
Roger Moore dies at 89; a look back at his automotive moments
Tue, May 23 2017According to Reuters, actor Roger Moore passed away this morning. The news source reports he died of cancer at age 89. Moore has a place in automotive enthusiasts' hearts thanks to his connection to some of the most famous onscreen cars in history. He portrayed James Bond in multiple films, perhaps most famously in The Spy Who Loved Me, in which his Bond piloted an amphibious Lotus Esprit. That car inspired many, even Elon Musk, who purchased the submarine version of the car. He also included it as an Easter egg in the Tesla Model S. That wasn't the only memorable Moore automotive moment. In two other Bond films, his character was involved in some remarkable stunts. In The Man with the Golden Gun, Moore's Bond drives an AMC Hornet over a ramp and does a barrel roll. Although cheesy, the stunt did happen. According to The Telegraph, a Cornell University aeronautical computer ran a simulation of the stunt and calculated the variables (such as the proper speed: 40 mph). Then British stuntman Loren "Bumps" Willard executed the roll on the first take, earning a GBP30,000 bonus. Which is a lot of money for a scene that uses a slide whistle as a sound effect. You can see the jump below. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Moore is also associated with a great car thanks to his other famous role on the TV show The Saint. In that series, he drove the beautiful and unusual Volvo P1800 coupe. The car was enough of an icon that Jay Leno featured it on his Jay Leno's Garage series. Related Video:
