Volvo S40 T5 on 2040-cars
Los Angeles, California, United States
|
Hello! Up for sale is my 2005 Volvo S40 T5. The car runs perfectly and will do so for years to come. As is always the case with Volvo, safety is paramount, so rest assured that even the newest of drivers will be safe behind the wheel! The car has 70,600 miles on it and looks brand new inside and out. No accidents whatsoever. Never been smoked in. All maintenance was done at my local Volvo dealer until the last oil change, which I did myself I bought the car in '08 straight off of lease with the CPO warranty. Under warranty, I had the PCV system replaced, the AC compressor replaced and the entire starter system replaced (not sure why they thought replacing the whole system was the way to go... but it wasn't my money!) Factory options were: Electric Silver Paint / Dark Gray Leather Interior Geartronic Transmission Factory Sport Body Kit with Rear Spoiler Xenon Headlamps Heated Seats Premium Audio with 6 Disc Changer OEM Sport Suspension All of the modifications done to the car were done by a local shop in Redondo Beach. I understand that there are a lot of parts on here, but I have most of the stock parts that can be included with the sale if the buyer would like to return anything to stock. For those interested, the modifications are: K&N Typhoon Intake, Custom 3" High Flow Turbo Downpipe, Custom 3" Magnaflow Cat Back, Evolve 25mm Sway Bar, Eurosport Tuning Strut Brace, Evolve FMIC, HD Turbo Control Valve from IPD, RICA Tuning ECU Software (91 Octane, CARB legal), ELEVATE Intake Plenum, VibraTechnics Lower Engine Mount, Forge Diverter Valve with High Boost Spring, Eibach Pro Kit (Lowering Coils), Koni Yellow Sport Shocks/Strust (Installed less than 500 miles ago), Elevate Slotted Rotors (F/R), PosiQuiet Ceramic Brake Pads, OEM Sport Pedals, OEM Sport Aluminum Shift Knob, OEM Sport Aluminum Steering Wheel, Evolve Dead Pedal, OEM Volvo Subwoofer, Volvo Garmin Dash Mounted Navigation, Full Tint, Color Matched Headlight Eyebrows by Individual, Color Matched Rear Widow Spoiler, HID Fog Light Conversion, Tinted Taillights, Evolve M10's (19x8.5 all around) Given the condition of the car and the care that I've put into it, $15k would be ideal, but I'm open to hear offers! Shipping will be on the buyer, but I can bring the car somewhere local for loading if that would help. Thanks for looking! |

Cars with the worst resale value in 2022
Thu, Nov 10 2022Car values are all over the map right now. Used vehicles that were worth a small fortune earlier this year are now coming back to Earth, but the new vehicle supply remains tight. Prices are still elevated overall, but some models have seen more severe price drops. Depreciation strikes almost every model, supply constraint or not, though a few vehicles are leading the way. New research from analytics iSeeCars found that a handful of cars depreciated more than 50 percent over five years, with the BMW 7 Series dropping 56.9 percent and an average price cut of $61,923 over that time. The vehicles with the highest depreciation — or worst resale value — over five years: BMW 7 Series: -56.9% Maserati Ghibli: -56.3% Jaguar XF: -54% Infiniti QX80: -52.6% Cadillac Escalade ESV: 52.3% Mercedes-Benz S-Class: 51.9% Lincoln Navigator: -51.9% Audi A6: -51.5% Volvo S90: -51.4% Ford Expedition: -50.7% iSeeCarsÂ’ research showed that midsize trucks, sports cars, and fuel-efficient vehicles were slowest to depreciate over five years, while itÂ’s clear that luxury brands tend to lose value much faster. As iSeeCarsÂ’ Executive Analyst Karl Brauer explained, used buyers donÂ’t value high-end vehiclesÂ’ features as much as the first owners, so resale values tend to be softer. The tech and options that made the cars so expensive and appealing new donÂ’t add the same value on the used market. Read more: Cars with the best resale value Interestingly, electric vehicles also depreciated quite heavily, though they were just short of the abysmal numbers in luxury segments. The Nissan Leaf depreciated most among EVs, dropping by 49.1 percent. The average EV depreciation is 44.2 percent, with the Tesla Model S and Model X sliding in right under the bar at 43.7 and 38.8 percent, respectively. As iSeeCars notes, itÂ’s important to be vigilant when car shopping and not let your emotions win over reason. Shiny new luxury cars look great in the showroom, but you could end up taking a bath when you try selling them a few years later on. 2015 Volvo S60 T6 Drive-E
Wed, 23 Apr 2014For those not paying attention, Volvo has updated its S60 sedan range for 2015 with a new range of engines under the Drive-E label. Wearing the same T5 and T6 badges to note the relative levels of power under the hood, both engines are 2.0-liter four-cylinders, with the lesser being turbocharged and the greater being both supercharged and turbocharged.
Both Drive-E variants are currently only available in front-wheel-drive flavor, though Volvo will still happily sell you an S60 T5 AWD with the older 2.5-liter turbo five-cylinder, or a top-of-the-line S60 T6 with a turbo'd 3.0-liter six-cylinder and all the wheels turning.
The car I drove for a week is perhaps the most balanced version of the S60 range, with that exotic sounding twin-charged 2.0-liter mill planted happily in the attractively sloping nose. Provided you're not hung up on front-drive dynamics, the T6 Drive-E might be a solid candidate for your next premium small sedan shopping list, as well.
Sunday Drive: Volvo hits a crossover home run, and people still love sports cars
Sun, Sep 24 2017Looking back at the week that just was clearly tells us at least three things. First, crossovers don't have to be boring. Second, people still love sports cars, from the attainable (Audi TT RS) to the fanciful (Mercedes-AMG GT C). And finally, the traditional German trio of premium luxury brands had better not rest on their laurels, because credible challengers are coming in from every direction. The biggest reveal of the week, at least judging by the interest of Autoblog readers, was the Volvo XC40. Not only is the little 'ute a looker, it introduces some innovative new buying/leasing schemes designed to appeal to an audience accustomed to trading in and trading up every couple of years. Think of Volvo's flat-fee lease as you would a smartphone contract, and you'll be on the right track. Genesis looks to have a hit on its hands in the form of the G70 sport sedan. We took a Korean-spec model for a spin and found a lot to like about the upstart contender. We can't wait to sample one here in the United States to see how it stacks up against the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. In other news, we're still really excited to see a production Ford Ranger Raptor. But if you just can't wait for the official reveal — it's OK, neither can we — take a look at the renderings in our post down below. As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry.
