I have decided to sell my extremely nice, accident free 2004 Volvo V70R. The best part about this car is that I have already done all the big ticket maintenance items as you will see below. If you are looking at this ad, you know this is the rare 300hp Volvo with 4 piston Brembo brakes front/rear, incredibly comfortable sport seats and blue stitching throughout. I have owned it for a little over two years. It was my daily driver but I just purchased a 2003 BMW M5 to replace it.

I have kept the car in very nice shape. Paint is 9/10 and interior is 8.5/10. There are some minor dings and scratches here and there from age but it still has it's full gloss finish and all the paint is all original and very nice. 1 small ding above the gas door, 4 small marks in the rear bumper (pictured) and 2 small dings in the driver rear door. The main wear on the interior is the driver side bolster shown in the photos. The rear seat has some indentations and slight discoloring where there has been a carseat for my son but I think the leather will come back after it's been removed for a while.

It runs and drives wonderfully. The local Volvo dealer described it as the nicest and tightest VR they have worked on. I have done a whole lot of maintenance, most of which was done at Paul's Volvo in Richmond, VA and Mooer's Volvo in Midlothian, VA. I can provide receipts for the large ticket items. I have done regular oil changes with Mobil 1 syntec and I keep my cars very nice.

The car does have a few tasteful modifications. No engine or spring/shock suspension mods though.

The stereo has been upgraded and is absolutely spectacular. It is very clean and is hands down the best system I have heard. The speakers are all original as the VR came with 8" woofers in the front doors. I only added a Pioneer 7" touchscreen head unit with bluetooth, an Alpine digital mono amp with the single 12" JL Audio L7. A custom enclosure for the sub was made to fit the car and can easily be removed. The head unit panel was made to look OEM as well.

I added an IPD grill which I think cleans up the look. I still have the original grill which will come with the car. I also modified the headlights as I thought the output was terrible for HID. I custom fit Infinity projectors with Apollo shrouds. Not only did it improve the look of the car, but it greatly improved the output as well.

The only suspension alteration I made was to add a VIVA chassis brace. Anyone who has driven these cars will tell you of the annoying side hop over bumps on the highway. This drasically reduced that issue and can easily be removed if desired.

I also added new black floormats which keep it cleaner and in my opinion look better than the tan ones that were in there.

Please feel free to contact me for any questions or additional images in high res. I have shipped several cars and would be happy to assist in finding a reasonably priced transport company but the buyer is responsible for the costs. I welcome anyone who wants to come inspect and/or drive the car as well.

Since I have owned the car, I have replaced the following:

Timing belt @ 90k

Trans flush and fluid change @ 90k

front brake pads and rotors @ 100k

all 4 sway bar end links @ 85k

Alternator @ 115k

Inner/outer tie rods with boots and alignment @ 115k

All 4 tires @ 110k

Steering line @115k

ABS computer @ around 110k

Front 4c shocks @ 85k

Upper engine mount bushing @95k

Trans mount bushing @ 95k

There are a few small issues that do need attention and are as follows.

Chip in the windshield (pictured)

The front passenger side strut accelerometer broke and therefore the whole shock needs to be replaced. It rides and drives fine but cannot go into sport mode. Mooer's Volvo confirmed this is the issue and therefore, a check suspension error will come on.

Rear brakes only have about 3mm's left on the pads

Center console has the typical 04 problem with the finish showing age (pictured)

I will replace the shock and windshield at the buyer's expense if desired.

Here are some photos all of which were taken today on July 20th, 2014 @ 3pm.

Volvo unveils all-new user interface destined for next-gen XC90 [w/video]

Thu, 27 Feb 2014

Take a close look at the cabin of the Volvo Concept Estate shown above. One of the big features on the fancy, brown shooting brake is an all-new user interface called, well, it doesn't really have a name, at least not one Volvo is revealing.
The refreshingly nameless system looks seriously impressive based on the short video that accompany's the system's press release. The jewel of the whole interface is a sizable touchscreen that manages most every in-car function save for a few vital functions like volume, hazard lights and other systems that still demand a more tactile interface.
"The basic idea is to organize controls and information in a perfectly intuitive and user- friendly way. Everything is exactly where you expect it to be, making the drive more enjoyable, efficient, and safe," Thomas Ingenlath, Volvo's Senior Vice President of Design, said in a statement.

LOLVO Volvo V60 video leverages the power of cats on cars

Wed, 02 Jul 2014

You know what we haven't posted in a long time? A very weird, car-related video. It's high time we address this failing.
As strange videos go, this one is truly bizarre. The two-minute clip focuses on the Volvo V60 R-Design, although you're not going to be learning anything about the car. Instead, you're going to be focused on the weird narrator (and the cat decals on the windows).
It's like someone taught the Swedish Chef to speak English, but with a ridiculous accent and a script that's been fed through Google Translate. The result is a weirdly cerebral voice speaking in a manner that borders on gibberish mixed with information about the car. We're particularly fond of, "In accordance with Volvo tradition... the car... is... of course... furnished, with an inside." "Floor bibs," in reference to the floor mats, was an office favorite, as well.
