I'M SELLING MY WIFES 1998 GREEN VOLVO XC AWD WAGON. THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING ON 2 OF THE 5 CYLINDERS. IT WILL START WITH ONLY THESE 2 RUNNING BUT IS OBVIOUSLY NOT HAPPY. THE MECHANIC SAID THE COMPRESSION ON THESE 2 CYLINDERS IS FINE, I BELIEVE BOTH AT 119 lbs. HIS INITIAL DIAGNOSIS INDICATED EITHER A WARPED HEAD, VALVE JOB, TIMING BELT, WATER PUMP IF THERE WERE NO LOWER ENGINE DAMAGE, OR A USED REPLACEMENT ENGINE WHICH HE LOCATED FOR $1200.00. MILEAGE IS 154,500. THE TIMING BELT HAD BEEN CHANGED AT 142,000 MILES. EITHER WAY, IT WAS GOING TO BE TOO MUCH TO PUT INTO THE VEHICLE.
THE CAR IS DARK GREEN WITH GRAY LEATHER SEATS. IT IS AN ALL WHEEL DRIVE, 4 DOOR + HATCHBACK. IT HAS POWER SUNROOF, POWER HEATED SEATS, POWER SEATS, POWER WINDOWS, POWER DOOR LOCKS (DOES NOT WORK ON ONE OF THE FOUR DOORS), POWER SIDEVIEW MIRROR ADJUSTMENT, REAR WINDOW DEFOGGERS AND WIPER, HEADLIGHT WIPERS. HAS AIR CONDITIONING BUT IT DOESN'T WORK. TIRES ARE RELATIVELY NEW. THERE IS NO RUST ON THE VEHICLE AND NO DENTS THAT I KNOW OF OTHER THAN A DENT THE SIZE OF A PENNY ON THE HOOD. MAY BE VISIBLE IN PHOTO. LEATHER SEATS ARE IN DECENT CONDITION. ONE OF THE PHOTOS SHOWS THE WORST ONE.
SOMEONE REAR-ENDED THE VEHICLE AND SHE THOUGHT THERE WAS NO DAMAGE, BUT THE REAR BUMPER SAGS A BIT BUT IS SOLID. YOU MAY NOT HAVE NOTICED THIS IN THE PHOTOS. THE INTERIOR IS COMPLETE BUT IS VERY VERY DIRTY AND NEEDS DETAILED BADLY.
REALLY A VERY PRETTY CAR. LOTS AND LOTS OF GOOD PARTS. IT WAS RAINING WHEN THE PHOTOS WERE TAKEN, BUT THE PAINT IS IN GOOD SHAPE. WE HAVE MOVED SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND IT IS STILL AT OUR OLD HOUSE 'TIL THE HOUSE SELLS. TITLE IS CLEAR AND WILL BE MAILED UPON SUCCESSFUL WINNING BID. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. NO SHIPPING. AS IS, WHERE IS.
I'LL TRY TO ADD MORE INFO AS I THINK OF IT OR AS I ANSWER QUESTIONS.

Tina Fey sits down with Seinfeld for new CiCGC
Thu, 30 Jan 2014Recently Jerry Seinfeld went out for a videotaped cup of coffee with Jay Leno in a vintage Gmund Porsche. Switching coasts and cars, this time New York's own son returns to his city for a jaunt in a 1967 Volvo 1800S with fellow New Yorker Tina Fey for the latest episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.
The trip takes them uptown to Cuban coffee shop Floridita in Harlem, then back downtown to a pastry shop. On the way, Jerry calls out a photo shoot for using a fake Porsche, and Fey admits she doesn't have a driver's license. Driving cars, she says, "is like Twitter to me." Which she also doesn't do - she lasted seven tweets in 2009.
You can check out the episode below as they go in search of coffee, the rare guanabana/soursop juice, Jerry's even more elusive product placement and the last Cronut in NYC.
2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge First Drive Review: EV SUV is petite, potent and unpretentious
Thu, Jul 21 2022After years of polishing its plug-in hybrid powertrains, Volvo is jumping into the electric vehicle space with both feet. But rather than trying to make an immense splash in the deep end, Volvo elected to start with its entry-level vehicles – the 2023 XC40 Recharge and its mechanical twin, the C40. Fear not. While they may be small, they are charmingly mighty. Volvo was so eager for us to sample the XC40 Recharge that it actually loaned us a 2022 model for the purpose of this writeup after announcing its planned updates for 2023 XC40 lineup. The changes are of virtually no consequence in the context of this review, as most of them serve to catch the standard XC40 up to the Recharge model, which was already equipped with VolvoÂ’s latest goodies, including GoogleÂ’s new Android Automotive infotainment suite. There are some aesthetic updates (ooooooh, new fog light trim!) but nothing truly noteworthy. While the XC40 is meant to appeal to a more crossover-minded buyer, it and the C40 are virtually identical. While Volvo offers pared-down versions of its EV powertrain in other markets, America gets only the “Twin” variants of each, named thusly for their pair of electric motors. Nope, no bargain-priced FWD-only models here. From the $54,645 (destination included) base model on up, you get 402 horsepower, 486 pound-feet of torque and all-wheel drive. It being a Volvo, everything inside is a little bit different (perhaps just for the sake of being so) but without being Saab levels of weird. Take the time-tested process of turning the car on, for example. There isnÂ’t a key nor start button; VolvoÂ’s electrics are just on by default. If youÂ’re in the car and the key is present, youÂ’re live. Put it in whatever gear you like and set off on your way. When youÂ’re done, put it in park, get out, lock the door and, should you need to or want to, plug it in. While that may seem superficially unconventional, itÂ’s fundamentally a very Volvo thing to do. There are those who choose to believe that Tesla deserves credit for normalizing minimalism in car interiors. ThatÂ’s a neat theory, but VolvoÂ’s been doing it better for longer — and not as a disguise for being cheap. Eliminating the on/off switch seems very on-brand for a company whose cabins have long resembled that one section of the Ikea maze where the college kids canÂ’t even afford to window shop.  If anything, the XC40 Recharge and the C40 both lean a little too far in that direction.
Volvo Cars reports theft of R&D data by hackers
Fri, Dec 10 2021STOCKHOLM — Volvo Cars said on Friday it had launched an investigation into a cyber security breach and the theft of some research and development data that could impact the company's operation. A spokesperson for the firm, majority owned by China's Geely Holding, said it had been approached by a third party, but declined to give any further details. "Investigations so far confirm that a limited amount of the company's R&D property has been stolen during the intrusion," the Swedish carmaker said in a statement. It added that "there may be an impact on the company's operation," without specifying what that might be. It said it did not see an impact on the security of its customers' cars or their personal data. The Gothenburg-based company said it had implemented security countermeasures to prevent further access to its property, while notifying relevant authorities. "Volvo Cars is conducting its own investigation and working with a third-party specialist to investigate the property theft," it said. Shares in Volvo Cars, whose IPO on Oct. 29 was the biggest in Europe this year, were down 3.2% at 1555 GMT. Â
