1998 Volvo S70 T5 Sedan 4-door 2.3l on 2040-cars
Hyattsville, Maryland, United States
This is a meticulously maintained 1998 Volvo S70 –T5 4 Door Sedan. I am the original owner with an original sticker and complete maintenance history of the car. The car has been garage kept for over half of its existence so the interior and exterior are in great shape. In 1998, the T-5 was Volvo’s
top of the line S70, more importantly, it designated Volvo’s hot rod 2WD edition of the car that came with a high-pressure
turbocharged with intercooler 2.3-liter inline five-cylinder engine making 236
horsepower. It also came with sport suspension. Needless to say, it’s not only
an incredibly safe car, but a lot of fun to drive. This car has under 181,000 original miles. It’s hunter green paint with beige
leather interior that are in exceptional condition. I have had the same
mechanic work on this car for the past 10 years. The following is an overview
of what’s been replaced/repaired on the car within the last 2 years: · Wiper Blades (windshield and headlights) ·
Fog lamps · Cooling Fan and Cooling Fan Shroud · Oil changed every 5000 miles Here’s a list of what’s on the car: ·
5 speed fully synchronized manual transmission ·
Front wheel drive with MacPherson Strut, Delta-link semi-independent
steer link rear suspension ·
16” Alloy Wheels with 205/16 Michelin radial tires ·
4 wheel power assisted disc brakes and ABS ·
Volvo Side-impact protection system (SIPS) including driver and
front passenger side-impact airbags ·

and rear ·

Leather trimmed steering wheel with tilt telescopic steering
column ·
Leather seating surfaces ·
Burled walnut wood trim ·
Tracs (traction control system) ·
Cold weather package front heated seats and fog lights ·
Volvo’s 2,000 pound rated/integrated with car frame roof rack. In
addition to roof rack, wind deflector, and roof rack locks ·
Rear spoiler ·
Appearance package ·
Gold package ·
Wheel locks ·
Front and rear wheel mud flaps · Front hood and bumper nose mask · Volvo Roof Rack with wind spoiler and bicycle lift rack. Overall this car is in great condition
considering its mileage. In addition, it’s also a great cruiser that’s fun to
drive, while being considered one of the safest cars on the road back in the late
90’s/early 2000’s, and probably still today. Finally, this car also gets good
mileage of close to 23 MPG city and just under 30 on the highway. |

Volvo buyers have best credit scores among all auto shoppers
Wed, 02 Jan 2013Experian, the US credit reporting agency, recently concluded a study into the financing and credit scores of US car buyers. One of the prime findings was that Volvo buyers enjoy the strongest credit scores among new car shoppers from all brands (nota bene, these are Experian's own numbers and can differ from other agencies). Unlike the Forbes report on the same story, though, we don't find that surprising at all, nor do we think it necessarily helps Volvo's upscale brand aspirations. The Gothenburg-based carmaker has sold its wares on tank-like safety for decades, so it seems natural that its buyers would be just as safe with and attentive to their credit scores as they are with their choice of vehicle.
Audi was ranked fourth by consumer credit score, Porsche seventh and Mercedes-Benz ninth, yet the fact that Volvo outranks them in this metric is probably a plus to its bottom line but not necessarily its image. It's not unfair to say more people desire those other luxury brands - Volvo itself has admitted as much - and people in the throes of desire have been known to be a little more let-it-ride about things like credit scores. The differences aren't huge, though: compared to Volvo's 818, Audi shoppers scored at 813, Mercedes shoppers 802. Lexus and Acura intenders took the other two steps on the top-credit-scores podium.
Mitsubishi took the honors at the other end of the charts, Experian finding that its potential customers, with an average of 604, had the lowest scores. Mitsubishi was followed by Suzuki and Dodge. On the other side of the financing table, Toyota led the way in how many of its vehicles were bought with bank assistance, followed closely by Ford, Chevrolet taking third place. Also of note, and for whatever it's worth, not one automaker made both the 'top ten by financing' and 'top ten by credit score' lists, but four made both the financing and 'bottom ten by credit score' lists: Chevrolet, Nissan, Kia and Dodge.
2nd annual Automobile Advertising of the Year Awards revealed
Tue, Jan 13 2015There was some absolutely fantastic auto advertising in 2014, ranging from funny to inspiring. Marking the best of it from the past year, the Second Annual One Show Automobile Advertising of the Year Awards were announced during the 2015 Detroit Auto Show (full disclosure: Autoblog was among the award's sponsors, and Editor-in-Chief Sharon Carty was a voter). Unlike previously, there were no brands with dominance over the list this time. Presented by The One Club, the awards have an international scope and hand out honors in a variety of categories. In the Broadcast TV group, there were three winners this year. First, there was The Scripted Life from Audi for the Q3 about breaking out of life's monotony. Also, Dad's Sixth Sense from Hyundai marketed the safety features in the Genesis. Finally, Unbreakable Drivers showed manly men being tested for the Toyota Hilux in Australia. The Online Video prize went to the fantastic The Epic Split spot from Volvo Trucks starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. The best Interactive ad was the Honda video titled The Other Side for the Civic Type R, and the Experiential Advertising nod was for the Volkswagen Eyes on the Road clip that showed the dangers of texting and driving to a theater full of moviegoers in Hong Kong. Finally, the Public Choice Award went to the BMW commercial called Hello Future using the words of sci-fi author Arthur C. Clarke for the i8. In the award not for videos, Jeep won the Print/Outdoor category for its Upside Down campaign. Check the ads out below, which show different animals when upside down. Also, look farther down for all of the winning videos and read their full announcements. Next-generation Volvo XC90 could wear the Embla nameplate
Fri, Jan 21 2022Volvo's next-generation XC90 will have a lot of firsts on its resume. It will inaugurate an evolution of the modular SPA2 platform that underpins the current model, it will be available with a new suite of driver assistance features, and it will reportedly adopt the Embla name. Citing a trademark application filed in Europe in 2021, British magazine Autocar believes it has uncovered the big SUV's new name. While a trademark or a patent filing is never a guarantee that a feature, a name or a car is right around the corner, we know that Volvo plans to ditch its alphanumerical naming system in the near future to start giving its cars real names. "We're going to give cars a name as you give a newborn child," explained outgoing company boss Hakan Samuelsson. He also confirmed the next XC90's name will start with a vowel. Embla, your author just learned, is the first woman created by the gods according to Norse mythology. Its etymology is seemingly lost to history. It appears that Volvo wants to build on the Thor's Hammer lights and continue putting its Swedish heritage front and center. Viewed in that light, Embla is a relatively good choice. It's reasonably easy to pronounce, even for folks outside of Scandinavia, and it's original; it's likely not a name that you hear on a daily basis. It's also relatively soft — Volvo Yggdrasil Recharge arguably has less of a ring to it. Unofficial morsels of information allow us to piece together a vague idea of what to expect from the Embla. We hear the SUV will be loosely related to the Concept Recharge design study (pictured) that Volvo introduced in November 2021. If that's accurate, it won't look anything like the model that's currently in showrooms. It will be longer, higher off the ground, and built on a much longer wheelbase. Details about the powertrain are conflicting: some sources say the Embla will be entirely electric, while others believe it will also be available as a hybrid. Volvo is expected to unveil the Embla before the end of 2022, and the crossover will arrive in showrooms as either a 2023 or a 2024 model. An earlier report claims that production will take place near Charleston, South Carolina, where the firm currently builds the S60 sedan. And, to complete the history lesson: the first man created by the gods in Norse mythology was named Ask. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
