2005 Volvo S60 T5 (High Pressure Turbo)

We are pleased to present this incredibly nice Volvo S60 T5 which is a very very rare car. This is quite a desirable car for a few reasons. Starting in 2005, the T5 model of the S60 became a very serious performance machine. It features different sport seats, a sportier interior trim, larger light alloy wheels, larger brakes, a lower, more sporty suspension with larger anti-sway bars, servotronic speed sensing variable-assist steering, and of course, the all-important 257 horsepower high pressure turbocharged inline 5 cylinder engine. You get all of this performance wrapped up in an ultra safe, ultra reliable Volvo. In fact, Rachael, our sales manager, drives a nearly identical car with about 250,000 miles on it. Her car has been trouble-free for the entire duration of her ownership. These cars rarely have mechanical problems. This S60 is finished in Magic Blue Pearl, which was a new color for the 2005 model year. It's actually still in use on brand new Volvo cars today. People always seem to love this color in person. Volvo has always developed the most interesting paint colors.

The interior of this S60 is in very, very good condition for its mileage. It has arena (tan) leather sport heated seats with very rare dark gray accents on the dash, console, and doors which are in place of the wood normally found in the less sporty S60s. It gives the car a very unique interior look. The car has the "high performance sound" Alpine audio system upgrade which sounds excellent. It is fitted with the Volvo OEM Apple iPod interface which is in the center console. This is a very rare option. It also has a power moonroof. The previous owner of this car was definitely a non-smoker. These cars don't even come with cigarette lighters, just power outlets. There is a cup holder that accommodates two beverages. This Volvo has dual front airbags, as well as front side airbags, and curtain airbags for the front and rear seats. It also features Volvo's WHIPS Whiplash protection system. It also has rain sensitive windshield wipers, along with heated mirrors, and bixenon headlamps with high-pressure wash function. The Xenon lights are incredibly rare in this year of Volvo -- in any model! In fact, this is the first 2005 we've had which has been fitted with this style of bixenon headlamps. Bixenon means that they utilize the xenon bulb for both the high and low beam headlights. Most cars only use the xenon bulb for low beam, and use a conventional halogen bulb for high beam. This system allows for the full advantage of the xenon lights in both headlamp modes!

The exterior of this S60 is in remarkably good condition for the year and miles, and Magic Blue Pearl in color. This is one of the most desirable colors on S60s, and really makes the car stand out. The exterior of the car is actually in very nice condition, and there aren't any major flaws to note. The car has no accident history at all. The 17 inch Nebula alloy wheels are in good condition. The car has had only two owners since it was new, and both owners seem to have serviced the car exceptionally well. You'll notice that there is a fairly sizeable dent on the leading edge of the drivers side fender. We have an appointment to have this repaired with paintless dent removal so as to not compromise the original paint of the car. We expect that the dent will mostly come out using this method.

The tires have good tread remaining. The brakes are in good shape and the car stops as it should. The legendary 2.4 Liter high pressure turbocharged 5 cylinder engine runs flawlessly and is very smooth. The transmission is also excellent. It's very smooth, while still handling well. Because this is a T5 High Pressure Turbo model, you'll notice several differences under the hood, like a revised inake system with a conical air filter, and a larger charge pipe. This, along with a larger turbo, and a tuned exhaust system allow the car to make more power. The engine itself is strengthened so that reliability is not compromised in any way. In fact, we've noticed that the high pressure turbo cars seem to be more reliable since the engines are more "beefed up" to handle the larger turbo's forced induction. The owners manual set is present. As was mentioned above, these cars rarely have mechanical issues, and this is definitely a car that you could purcahse with the intention of putting hundreds of thousands of miles on the odometer. Volvo V60 Polestar is one hot hauler

Earlier this year, Polestar jumped from the racetrack to the showroom with its own take on the Volvo S60 sedan. And given the similarity and the proud history of hot Volvo wagons, not to mention the spy shots and teasers, we knew it would only be a matter of time before Volvo's racing partner would return with a similar take on the V60. And that's just what it's done.
Powering the new Volvo V60 Polestar is the same 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six as the sedan, driving 350 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission and Haldex all-wheel-drive system. Hitting 62 miles per hour reportedly happens in the same 4.9 seconds as the sedan, on its way to a stop speed of 155 mph.
The power upgrades come courtesy of a twin-scroll Borg Warner turbocharger, intercooler and overhauled exhaust system. Other upgrades over Volvo's own R-Design model include stiffer springs, Öhlins shocks, 20-inch wheels, Brembo brakes and a full aero kit, not to mention an upgraded cabin from which to command the performance.

Geely wants to be a tech-sharing 'friend' of Daimler in $9B bet

Chinese carmaker Geely has built up an almost 10-percent stake in Daimler in a $9 billion bet by its chairman that he can access the Mercedes-Benz owner's technology in the growing battle for the future of automotives. The purchase by Li Shufu, Geely's founder and main owner, means China's largest privately-owned automaker is now the biggest shareholder in Germany's Daimler. Geely said on Saturday there were no plans "for the time being" to raise the stake further. Instead, it will seek to forge an alliance with Daimler, which is developing electric and self-driving vehicles, to respond to the challenge from new competitors such as Tesla, Google and Uber. "No current car industry player is likely to win this battle against the invaders from outside without friends. To achieve and assert technological leadership, one has to adapt a new way of thinking in terms of sharing and combining strength. My investment in Daimler reflects this vision," Li said. "Daimler is pleased to announce that with Li Shufu it could win another long-term orientated shareholder, which is convinced by Daimler's innovation strength, strategy and future potential," the German company said in a statement. Geely officials plan to travel to Stuttgart to meet Daimler executives early next week and also hope to meet top German government officials in Berlin, two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters. The Chinese firm plans to use the meetings to underline that it intends to be a supportive long-term investor, they said. Daimler had no immediate comment on any meetings. Geely and the German economy ministry declined to comment. Chinese investors in German technology companies have tended to take a consensual approach, buying incremental stakes in companies such as robotics firms Kuka and Kion, typically after long consultation with management and other stakeholders. In November, Geely asked Daimler to issue new shares so it could buy a stake, as a way to access Mercedes-Benz technology for electric cars and trucks, including battery technology, to help Geely comply with a Chinese crackdown on pollution. But the German company turned down the offer saying it did not want to dilute existing shareholders, sources at the time told Reuters. Li changed tactics, and quietly amassed a stake of 9.69 percent worth $9 billion at Daimler's current share price.

Now, more and more automakers are switching to Tesla's charging tech. But there are a few things non-Tesla drivers need to know about charging at a Tesla station. A lot has hit the news cycle in recent months with regard to electric car drivers and where they can and can't plug in. The key factor in all of that? Whether automakers switched to Tesla's charging standard. More car companies are shifting to Tesla's charging tech in the hopes of boosting their customers' confidence in going electric.Â Here's what it boils down to: If you currently drive a Tesla, you can keep charging at Tesla charging locations, which use the company's North American Charging Standard (NACS), which has long served it well. The chargers are thinner, more lightweight and easier to wrangle than other brands.Â If you currently drive a non-Tesla EV, you have to charge at a non-Tesla charging station like that of Electrify America or EVgo — which use the Combined Charging System (CCS) Â— unless you stumble upon a Tesla charger already equipped with the Magic Dock adapter. For years, CCS tech dominated EVs from everyone but Tesla.Â Starting next year, if you drive a non-Tesla EV (from the automakers that have announced they'll make the switch), you'll be able to charge at all Supercharger locations with an adapter. And by 2025, EVs from some automakers won't even need an adaptor.Â Here's how to charge up, depending on which EV you have:Â Ford 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E.
