THIS IS MY DAILY COMMUTER.  GREAT ON GAS.  COLD AC.  EXCELLENT TIRES.  I DRIVE 90 MILES ROUND TRIP EVERYDAY WITH THIS CAR.  I AM BUYING A HOME AND NEED MONEY FOR CLOSING.  IT HAS A CURRENT NC INSPECTION.  I JUST RECENTLY SPENT $330 TO REPLACE THE CAM ADJUST SOLENOID, GASKETS, ADJUST THE TIMING, SYNTHETIC OIL AND A NEW DRAIN PLUG.  TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS ALSO CHECKED.  THE CARS COSMETIC CONDITION IS GOOD OVERALL.  THERE IS A SMALL DENT AT THE BASE OF THE FRONT OF THE HOOD (SEE PICTURE).  WINDOWS, SEATS, RADIO, SUNROOF, WIPERS, SIGNALS AND ALL GAUGES WORK FINE.  I HAVE CLEAR TITLE IN HAND.  THE INTERIOR IS GOOD OVERALL.  FRONT SEATS HAVE WEAR.  ARM REST IS WORN AND HAS A TEAR.  BACK SEAT AND HEAD LINER ARE NICE.  DASH IS FINE ALSO.  CAR WAS RECENTLY CHECKED OUT AT JANKO IMPORT REPAIR IN WAKE FOREST, NC.  I HAVE PAPERWORK.  MECHANICALLY, SHIFTS AND RUNS GOOD.  THERE IS A SMALL OIL LEAK THAT DRIPS AROUND THE CAM SEAL AND TURBO AREA THAT DOES NOT BOTHER ANYTHING.  MECHANIC QUOTED $250 TO DO IT FOR ME.  IF YOU DID IT YOURSELF, IT WOULD BE LESS THAN $100 OR SO.  NOT NECESARRY TO REPAIR BUT WILL OCCASIONALLY DRIP IN YOUR DRIVEWAY.  AGAIN, I DRIVE IT EVERYDAY BUT I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO SELL IT NOW.  PLEASE ASK ANY QUESTIONS, BRING A MECHANIC (A REAL ONE, NOT ANNOYING UNCLE HENRY WHO THINKS HE KNOWS ABOUT CARS) OR COME SEE IT BEFORE BIDDING.  IT IS A USED CAR THAT IM SELLING FOR LESS THAN A GOLF CART THAT IS CURRENTLY INSPECTED IN NC AND DRIVEN DAILY.  IT IS NOT PERFECT BUT A GREAT DEAL FOR SOMEONE.  I HAVE 100% FEED BACK WITH 0 COMPLAINTS.  IF YOU BID, I EXPECT YOU TO HAVE ALL OF THE MONEY.  NO FINANCING OF ANY KIND.  THANKS

Volvo EX30 electric crossover coming to lure younger buyers

Volvo's long-rumored entry-level electric crossover is taking shape. Positioned below the XC40 and likely called EX30, the city-friendly model will make its debut this summer, and it should play a significant role in bringing younger buyers into the firm's showrooms. While specific details remain under wraps, Volvo boss Jim Rowan pledged that the EX30 will be "very safe" and offer a "decent range" as well as a "good size." Downsizing in terms of price and size will help the Swedish company reach a wider audience. "The age demographic that we have at Volvo is a lot older than we would like; we'd like to get some more younger people into the brand," the CEO told CarSales. Letting customers buy the EX30 online will help lure younger drivers, according to Volvo's research. However, it's not forgetting about older motorists: It expects that older drivers who want a smaller car and don't regularly drive long distances will be interested in the EX30 as well. As we previously reported, the EX30 will share its Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform with the Smart #1. The connection isn't as random as it might seem: China-based Geely owns Volvo and runs Smart via a joint-venture with Mercedes-Benz. Rear-wheel drive will come standard, and buyers will have several battery sizes to choose from, though it sounds like none will be massive. Rowan expects that driving range will become less of a concern for electric-car drivers as the charging infrastructure improves in the coming years. The Volvo EX30 is scheduled to make its debut in June 2023 and go on sale shortly after. Production will take place in China, and there's no word yet on whether we'll see the EV in the United States. As it stands, the next new Volvo to reach showrooms is the range-topping EX90. The new XC90 isn't just about the new XC90 - it's as much about the new generation of Volvos that will result.
Around the turn of the millennium, Volvo seemed like the perfect automaker to make a crossover. It had, after all, already established for itself a reputation for building all-wheel-drive wagons for transporting families in safety and comfort. But while its competitors marched one by one into the luxury utility market, Volvo held out. That was, anyway, until the debut of the original XC90 in 2002. And it's never looked back since.

Ford sold Volvo to Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Limited in 2010. Just two years later, Geely announced an $11-billion investment in the Swedish carmaker, its charismatic fugleman Li Shifu saying, "We want to revive Volvo and give the brand its strength back." Two years later, after having introduced the Concept XC Coupe at the Detroit Auto Show this week, Volvo CEO Håkan Samuelsson (above, second from right) declared the company profitable again after a solid 2013 and predicted a positive 2014.
Intending to break even on operating profit in 2013, Volvo exceeded expectations and landed on the plus side due to a mix of factors. US sales declined 10.1 percent for the year to 61,233, that number still making us Volvo's largest market, but Chinese sales were up nearly 46 percent to 61,146 units, and even its home market saw a bump of 0.8 percent; total sales for the year were 427,840, a margin of 1.4-percent over the previous year. Volvo was able to do more with the tiny gain and reverse its half-year operating loss because of a global cost restructuring and thorough revamp of its Chinese distribution network. An announcement of 2013's financial results will come in March.
Bullishness on 2014 comes from the company's intention to focus on its two biggest markets with new models, new technology and more spending. The first product of an independent Volvo, the new XC90, will be revealed later this year on the new SPA architecture. On top of the Sensus Connect infotainment system, Volvo will add driver-aid systems like adaptive cruise control with steer assist and night-time pedestrian detection. It also has a new North American CEO and will spend more on marketing and communications here. In China it will begin to feel more effect from the two Chinese factories opened last year - it has three in the country - and, if need be, can take advantage of more advantageous exchange rates by exporting from China instead of the US. Said Samuelsson of what he expects in the US in 2014, "we will outperform the market."
