2008 Volvo C30 Version 1. Nice Daily Driver With Lots Of Recent Maintenance on 2040-cars
Huntington, West Virginia, United States
Listing our 2008 Volvo C30 coupe. We're the third owners and have had the car for approximately two years now. The car was original a Volvo corporate lease vehicle for one of their executives. Following that it was purchased by a pharmaceutical sales rep who put the majority of the mileage on the car. We purchased the vehicle with just over 90k miles on it and it has been a reliable daily driver ever since. Since we've purchased we've had the following service/parts replaced:
-New manual transmission - came out of a car with 26k miles on it (with receipt). Was installed by the local Volvo dealer along with a new clutch.
-New passenger side wheel bearing
-Brand new tires - less than 3k miles on them
-Two new wheels - noticed a small shimmy so we purchased OEM replacements from Volvo
-New floor mats/rear trunk mat/rear trunk cover - all from Volvo
-New R design pedals - to replace worn original rubber pieces
-A/C recharged - blows cold
-Passenger tail light replaced - original had a deep scratch on it
-Paintless dent removal - to remove door dings. This was done about 18 months ago and despite our best efforts there are two door dings currently. Still very good for the mileage/year
-Installed rear bumper protector - helps prevent scratches while loading/unloading trunk
-New center armrest - original had small tear
-All fluids (oil/coolant) replaced
Given the age and mileage there are a few negatives. They are as follow:
-Small crack in front grille - hard to see but wanted to point it out
-Few scratches/dings in paint - not bad but the car has over 100k miles on it so to be expected
-Two wheels have curb rash
-Interior seat wear - driver seat has minor bolster wear and small tear in bottom seat cover. Unfortunately this is common with the T-tec fabric
Other than that I can't think of anything significant to add. The car runs/drives just fine. We use it to commute to work and for the occasional road trip where it performs flawlessly.

10 best new car deals of November 2021
Thu, Nov 4 2021Sales of new cars, trucks and SUVs were drastically affected in 2020 due to the (still) ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The market started to show signs of recovery toward the end of last year before really coming on strong in the early months of 2021. Of course, then pandemic-related parts and worker shortages along with global shipping constraints started running amok and causing a great deal of pricing fluctuation and a limited supply of certain vehicles. Those problems (among other things) have led to record-high new-car transaction prices in the United States. The good news is that there are still plenty of great deals on new cars. Using data provided by TrueCar, we’ve compiled a list of some of the best automotive deals for November 2021. WeÂ’ve noted the original MSRP, the average transaction price, and the total savings in both dollars and as a percentage of the original sticker price. Basically, weÂ’ve done all the hard work for you! So now, all you need to do is compare deals, go on a few test drives, and maybe drive away in a great car (and an even better bargain).
Volvo won't go after S-Class, 7 Series market
Mon, 22 Apr 2013Volvo vice president of powertrain engineering, Derek Crabb, recently said that the Swedish automaker is developing smaller and smarter powertrain options that will "turn V8s into dinosaurs" - a statement that could have been our first indication that Volvo is no longer looking to create a luxury flagship sedan to take on German land yachts like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Audi A8 and BMW 7 Series. Now Automotive News seems to be backing this up after speaking with CEO Hakan Samuelsson, who said that a big sedan wouldn't fit the brand's green image and, more importantly, might not even be a car that its customers would even consider.
Rather than trying to compete in a small, established market against rear-drive, 12-cylinder sedans, Volvo is looking at the emerging, higher-volume premium small car segment to take on its German rivals with the all-new Volvo V40 (shown above). Not wanting to abandon the big-vehicle segment altogether, a next-generation XC90 is due out within the next couple years (and was spotted in some recent spy shots), and it will ride on the new Scalable Platform Architecture (SPA), which will be shared with the new S80 according to the AN article.
