You are viewing our very clean XC90 that was purchased from Annapolis Volvo in Nov 2008. I'm the 2nd owner and purchased it with 24,000 miles under the Volvo Certified Pre Owned program. This SUV is a beast in all weather, and safely hauled our kids with peace of mind. Has factory rear seat DVD, sunroof, 3rd row A/C, and power everything.
Runs great, good alignment, no warnings, cold A/C, heated seats work, all controls and functions work as they should. Seats and carpet only show minor wear (if that). Always respected, professionally serviced (synthetic oil), garage kept, professionally detailed every month. New brakes at 65,000 miles and new Bridgestone Dueler Alenza tires at 78,033 miles. Fresh oil change and tire rotation. Clean, clear Maryland title. Auto Check 2 owners, no accidents. Minor issues: (1) As pictured, there is a crack in the plastic moulding around the drivers seat (cosmetic only) (2) The left DVD screen is fuzzy and does not work. The remote, audio, player, and right screen are fine. I have 2 sets of factory headphones that are included but have never been tested. (3) On the max setting, I feel like the A/C has a faint noise. Sounds like a piece of paper is stuck in the blower fan. Dealer checked it years ago under the CPO warranty and said it was fine. (4) As pictured, there are some gouges in the leather door trim on the rear left door. (5) As pictured, 2nd row back seats show some minor indentations from car seats. We always used a car seat mat, but had seats installed for over 5 years. These indentations are not tears or rips. (6) Please inspect pictures carefully and you'll see that I point out all of the minor dings. You arrange shipping, I'm happy to meet the auto transport during regular business hours. Junkyard Gem: 1997 Volvo V90
Tue, Jul 6 2021Volvo's "Brick Era" of squared-off rear-wheel-drive machines lasted from the debut of the 144 in 1966 all the way through the 900 Series cars of the 1990s, with the wildly successful 240 being the most iconic of the breed on our shores. The final chapter of the Swedish Brick saga came in the 1997 and 1998 model years, when the 960 sedan and wagon were rebadged as the S90 and V90, respectively. Here's one of those cars, a refrigerator-colored (and refrigerator-shaped) V90 wagon that got forcibly retired after a crash in Northern California. Volvo revived the V90 name in 2016, and you can buy a new V90 right now if you so choose. Today's Junkyard Gem, however, is the culmination of four decades of improvement to the original 140 design (itself based on much of the Amazon's chassis features and sharing plenty of components with the 1940s-era PV Series cars), while the current V90 comes straight out of the 21st century. I've been going out of my way to document just about every discarded 140 and 240 wagon I find, with some 740s and 940s mixed in. Many Volvo longroof owners still maintain a fanatical devotion to the rear-wheel-drive bricks, and I've found some of these cars in junkyards with impressively high final odometer readings. The fuel-efficiency and interior-space limitations of the old-timey brick design kept 960 sales lower than those of their predecessors, though, and I haven't met any 960 owners who share the level of devotion that 145 and 245 owners lavish on their cars. This car just squeaked past 150,000 miles during its 24 years on the road. The body and interior look to have been in very nice condition, showing that meticulous owners took good care of this car throughout its life, but then it got T-boned on the right side. This sort of damage isn't worth fixing on a quarter-century-old European wagon, and so here it sits. This engine compartment looks very similar to that of the old 240, though this modern 3.0-liter, DOHC straight-six and its 181 horses runs counter to the super-sensible spirit of most of those 1970s Goteborg bricks. The 960 was far more plush than its ancestors, and priced accordingly. In 1997, this car's list price started at $35,850 (about $60,660 in 2021 dollars). By comparison, a new 1975 245 wagon had an MSRP of $5,795 (about $29,940 today).

Ford, Volvo join Redwood in EV battery recycling push in California
Mon, Feb 21 2022Ford and Volvo will join battery recycling startup Redwood Materials in developing processes, starting in California, to collect end-of-life batteries from electric and hybrid vehicles and recover the materials for use in new batteries, the companies said Thursday. Redwood Materials, co-founded by former Tesla executive JB Straubel, formed an earlier partnership last fall with Ford to develop a “closed loop” or circular supply chain for electric vehicle (EV) batteries, from raw materials to recycling. On Thursday, Redwood Materials said it would work directly with dealers and dismantlers in California to identify and recover end-of-life battery packs. The materials in those packs will be recovered and recycled at Redwood Materials facilities in northern Nevada. U.S. automakers Ford and General Motors Co (GM) have said the battery recycling effort is crucial in efforts to develop a domestic supply chain to meet increasing EV demand. GM and battery partner LG Energy Solution last year announced a partnership with startup Li-Cycle to recycle battery scrap material from Ultium Cells, the GM-LG joint venture that is building battery plants in Ohio, Tennessee and Michigan. Redwood Materials has similar partnerships with battery makers Panasonic in Nevada and Envision AESC in Tennessee, as well as with Amazon.
