Hi Everyone

Today I am selling my very reliable 1997 Volvo 850 T-5 (Turbo) wagon. This car is awesome. Before I go any further do some research on Google about this vehicle. You'll find that over all the owners of this type of vehicle, both make and model/year, are very proud and feel very safe and comfortable behind the wheel of this well built car. Many of them being original owners and are stilling driving it well above the 175,000 and even 250,000 with no major problems and more regular maintenance. In fact when Volvo first launched this model they actual gave a insurance policy to the original owner of the vehicle in the amount of 250,000 dollars to cover any accident while driving this vehicle, that how much faith Volvo had as a company that this vehicle would keep the family

I plan on down sizing to a less admirable vehicle to drive to work and around town because I want to pay off some debt. This vehicle  has  87,000 original miles. If you split that up between years that comes out to less that 5,000 miles a year. So this car has had very little strain put on it through out the years. Below are a list of specs on the particular make/model.

Paint
-Color is a dark blue green
-Over paint is in good condition w/ one noticable scratch (see below in pictures and video)

Braking and Traction
-ABS (4-Wheel)

Comfort and Convenience
-Air Conditioning
-Power Windows
-Power Door Locks
-Cruise Control

-Child Saftey Lock for rear Windows

Steering (Just had it aligned yesterday 1/28/2013)
-Power Steering
-Telescoping Wheel

Entertainment and Instrumentation
-AM/FM Stereo
-Cassette
-CD (Single Disc)
-CD (Multi Disc) (has one in the truck but it has not worked for awhile, may be a easy fix though, the single one of dash works perfectly)
-Premium Sound System

Safety and Security
-Dual Air Bags
-F&R Side Air Bags
-Automatic Alarm Activated System

Seats
-Dual Power Seats in Front
-Leather Interior
-RARE Third Row Seat (facing out back window)

Roof and Glass
-Powered Sun Roof (absolutely no leaks)

Wheels and Tires
Alloy Wheels
Tires (90 percent tread still left, only 4-5 months old on all 4 wheels)

This car runs super well and the AC is ice cold. It is very very comfortable to drive and the seats are very spacious. Leather is in great-good condition with minimal cracks and NO Tears. The only thing I can say about this Beauty is that the center back brake light on the glass window went out and needs to be changed and also the right front head light (not high beam) needs to be changed.  BOth of these should coast in the ball park of 5-15 dollars. Also there is a scratch, as noted in the pictures where my wife scraped our mail box, this could also be buffered possibly. Please llok at the pictures and watch the videos linked below.

On Kelly Blue book website the care is listed as very good instead of excellent because of the above issue I just addressed. Below are the prices of each category for each condition this vehicle both make and model/year can be rated.

Used Car Prices
Suggested Retail
Private Party

Excellent
$6,075

Very Good (THIS IS THE CONDITION ON MY VEHICLE)
$5,800

Verify Condition
Good
$5,675

Fair
$5,025

They don't make them like this anymore and one really cool feature of this vehicle is the backwards facing rear seats. If anyone reading this is older the maybe 28 years old you may remember these cool seats as children. It is a seat for one or two children that folds up from the floor in back and faces looking out the back window. It is very easy to access and put up and down.

The Best Aspect of this vehicle of all IS THAT IT HAS ONLY 87,000 ORIGINAL MILES ON IT< WHICH IS VERY RARE. Please feel free to email me any questions. Below you can see the pictures and if you would like to stop by and see/test driver with me please feel free to do so by arranging a appointment

I am listing this as a NO RESERVE auction but I also have it listed locally and reserve the full right to end this auction to due this 1997 Volvo 850 t-5 with VIN number yv1lw5727v2292574 selling locally. Also I will be canceling the insurance on this vehicle upon selling it, so the buyer must provide their own insurance upon payment and picking it up.  This is exactly what the law requires when buying a car form a dealership before you can drive the vehicle off the lot.  It simple takes a phone call to your insurance provider and my be done before hand if you wish by providing the vin number.

2020 Volvo S60 T8 Long-Term Review Wrap-Up | Final verdict

Wed, Mar 17 2021

Twelve months of motoring in the 2020 Volvo S60 T8 went by quickly. Our time in Volvo’s sharp, plug-in hybrid sedan is over, and itÂ’s time for a final verdict. The S60 saw two entirely different worlds in its time with us. We took delivery in normal days — you know, pre-global pandemic — but most of its tenure here was in a Covid-19 world. That being the case, it didnÂ’t get out and travel the country as much as our long-term test vehicles normally do. Prior to getting locked down, our S60 took trips to Chicago, Buffalo, the northern reaches of Michigan and elsewhere in the region. Even once its extended driveway sessions began, we snuck it away once to the East Coast for a quick back-and-forth summer trip. We limited our car swaps to once a month in an effort to stay away from each other on staff and keep each other safe. That meant that each of us got to spend longer stints than usual in the driverÂ’s seat — our normal routine wouldnÂ’t have encouraged this behavior pre-coronavirus. It was more like a true ownership experience, which is exactly what we aim to convey with long-term tests. We plugged it in every night, utilized the Volvo smartphone app to track it and integrated the car more fully into our lives. The odometer reading sat at 16,866 miles in the end. A great number of those miles were done under electric power, thanks to the carÂ’s 22-mile electric range when fully charged — our range testing saw it meet or exceed that figure if driven with a light foot.  And since the car was sitting at home so often, it was working with a full charge in most circumstances. Long highway trips saw us match the carÂ’s combined mpg rating of 30 mpg. Most fill-ups would return a much higher effective mpg number, though, as all the electric motoring helps it along. Folks with shorter commutes should take notice, as S60 T8 ownership will greatly reduce the number of necessary fuel stops. Due to the VolvoÂ’s long 10,000-mile maintenance gaps, it only needed to make one regular dealer stop in our time. Besides that, there were two other trips to the dealer. We had recall work done — there was an issue with the automatic emergency braking system — before the first regular service. And a sunroof snafu was the carÂ’s second and last unscheduled trip to the shop. Read on below for all of our final impressions on the 2020 Volvo S60 T8. 2020 Volvo S60 T8 View 15 Photos Road Test Editor Zac Palmer: The S60 T8 is a slightly sporty sedan, but itÂ’s no sports sedan.

This is Volvo's awesome S60 V8 Supercar entry [w/video]

Sat, 15 Feb 2014

Australian auto news has been dire for the last several months with all three automakers that build there announcing they would stop production within the next three years. But Volvo is providing a shot of excitement with the unveiling of its new S60 racecar for the upcoming season of the Australian V8 Supercar series.
The Volvo S60 racecar will use a 5.0-liter, naturally aspirated V8 based on Volvo's B8444S production engine that will be tuned to produce roughly 650 horsepower on E85 ethanol. Power will get to the ground via a six-speed sequential transmission, and it will be able to reach 62 miles per hour in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 185. All cars in the series use common parts for the chassis, transaxle, and rear suspension.
Volvo's Polestar performance arm will campaign two of the S60 racers this season. While Volvo might seem like an odd inclusion into Australian racing, it actually has quite a successful history. It won the 1986 Australian Touring Car Championship in a 240 and won the Bathhurst 1000 race in 1998 in an S40. Polestar is not new to racing either, having been racing Volvos around the world since 1996.
