Sad to sell Olga! She has been a great car since I bought her from Land Rover Winnetka(Chicago) in '97.
I have most of the maintenance records since she was out of warranty and serviced exclusively by one local Indy shop. Bought a new Volvo and must let her go. Always been garaged up until last month. This car is a tank. I always felt so safe and it never let me down. It is a beast in the Winter with the extra set of wheels with Blizzaks on them. The current wheels are 16" swept turbos with good tires. I seemed to constantly bend the original 17" Volans around town and they were too expensive to keep replacing. Just had it into the mechanics and they said it was driving really well. I have noticed an occasion issue when cold starting. The car has always been a quick turn of the key and go. Sometimes it needs a few more seconds recently. It never happen when the shop had it of course! May need some tinkering. I don't have time to take it back and deal with it. Looking for a good home to a Volvo enthusiast. There is a lot of life left in this car. I have used this car loaded up for camping, hauling my stand up paddle board. There are some scratches in the paint on the roof. A few door dings and such. There is on scratch above the left rear wheel when I parked my Vespa too close and it caught the rack. I have brand new cans of touch up and clear coat that will go with the car. The only surface rust is new to appear near the left rear wheel well. Could be easily fixed. Drivers side seat has normal wear and tear and had a seam sewed years ago. The passenger seat seam needs repair in center bottom. Rear seats are great! Premium sound system. AC was totally replaced about 5 yrs ago. It uses about a quart of oil between changes. No biggie. Trans oil has been replaced in the past. Shifts smoothly. The engine still has great power and purrs along nicely. I still love driving this car. It is much more solid feeling than my new Volvo. This higher horsepower T5-R only came out mid-year 1995. Limited edition. Can we call it rare? Yes. Just as I was going to list it this week the heat shield above the exhaust started making noises. A friend clamped it for now. Arrggh! Timing! Battery is 3 years old and strong. Always starts right up in the winter. Please feel free to ask questions and I will edit and put more info and pics on tomorrow night. On Sep-18-14 at 20:46:00 PDT, seller added the following information: Both rear brake calipers have been replaced. That is why they aren't red like the front anymore. There is a place in the front lower spoiler where I got to close to the lawnmower in the garage and it put a 5 inch flaw in it. I can email a photo if anyone wants to see that. Just cosmetic. The speedometer gear has been replaced a few years back. This is a common problem. Mileage is accurate. On Sep-18-14 at 20:50:58 PDT, seller added the following information: Check engine light is on. I have had my mechanic scan and reset it so many times. He thinks it is because we put a non-OEM catalytic convertor on it. Emission code stuff. |

Volvo V60 Polestar speeds into view
Mon, 14 Oct 2013Send us photos of a new wagon out testing, and you've got our attention. Send us photos of a fast wagon lapping the Nürburgring and, well, we're just as giddy as can be. Our spy shooters just blessed our inbox with some fresh shots of Volvo's new V60 wagon out testing in Polestar guise, sporting the same Rebel Blue paint job as the thunder-from-Down-Under limited-edition S60 Polestar, as well as an aggressive front fascia, huge wheels, Brembo brakes, a rear diffuser panel and a roof spoiler. Hello there, hot stuff.
Like its sedan counterpart, the V60 Polestar is expected to use a boosted version of Volvo's 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine, pumping out something like 350 horsepower. To keep everything in check, that force will almost certainly be sent to the ground via all-wheel drive.
It's unclear if Volvo will sell the V60 Polestar as a limited-edition affair for our friends in Australia, or if this longroof hot-hauler will be offered in other markets this time. After all, Volvo is bringing the V60 over to American soil early next year, so consider our fingers - and toes - crossed.
Volvo updates XC60 and adds Android-based infotainment to more models
Tue, Mar 9 2021The 2022 Volvo XC60 is getting a number of minor updates, plus Volvo is rolling out its Android-based infotainment system to more of its lineup. Starting with the XC60 news, Volvo is subtly adapting the front and rear bumper styling. It gets new front side intakes and a massaged lower bumper opening. Neither of those nearly unnoticeable changes do much to influence our opinion of the car. The new rear bumper design reveals a slight character adjustment, though. Like other recently-updated Volvos, the exhaust exit is made invisible under the car — there are no longer any exhaust pipes exiting from the rear. The dual exhaust seen on the regular XC60 was a nice touch, but this is simply more of Volvo preparing us for the electric future to come. As for tech, Volvo says that the XC60 will be one of the models to get the Android-based infotainment for 2022. The 2022 S90, V90 and V90 Cross Country will be adding this infotainment system, too. It comes with something Volvo is calling the “Digital Services Package” for four years at no cost. This package includes the Google Assistant, Google Maps, access to Google Play apps, the Volvo On Call app, a data/internet connection and access to the wireless phone charger. After four years, Volvo says that “customers can continue to use the package by opting for an extension.” The “extension” will certainly involve paying Volvo for continued access to the programs (though Volvo hasn't said how much yet), similar to BMW and its proposed subscription-based vehicle feature model. Seeing what you get with the package, itÂ’s made such that you need the package to make the infotainment system useful. Losing access to Google services with a Google-based infotainment system seems crippling on the surface, and VolvoÂ’s tying of the wireless phone charger functionality to this subscription service is also irksome. Volvo is just introducing this package, and weÂ’re sure it will change over time as it matures, so this likely isnÂ’t the last weÂ’ll hear of the “Digital Services Package” story. ChargePoint in-car app View 5 Photos Lastly, Volvo is adding a new in-car ChargePoint app to its Android infotainment system that should simplify the charging process. It eliminates any need for you to get your phone or credit card out when you pull up to a charging station, assuming you're using a ChargePoint charger.
Cyan Racing shows slightly tamer resto-modded Volvo P1800 GT
Thu, Feb 15 2024Cyan Racing, which was known as Polestar until Volvo purchased the rights to the name in 2015, has unveiled an evolution of its resto-modded P1800 that puts a bigger emphasis on comfort. Called GT, the coupe remains as attractive as its more track-focused sibling. If you need a refresher course, Cyan Racing branched out into street-legal cars when it unveiled a P1800 with classic good looks and modern performance in 2020. That was arguably the worst year to launch anything, let alone an expensive reboot of a relatively obscure classic, but Cyan was on to something: it didn't take long for the brand to receive its first orders. Viewed from the outside, the GT looks a lot like Cyan's original P1800. It features two-piece bumpers, a front splitter, wheel arch flares and a racing-style fuel filler cap that pokes through the trunk lid. It's inside that you'll find some of the bigger changes: Cyan fitted more comfort-oriented front seats and installed a different roll cage, for example. The brand also notes that it installed more sound-deadening material. Power still comes from a turbocharged, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, though it has been tuned with a focus on drivability rather than on flat-out performance. How much power varies from car to car. The output of Cyan's previous P1800-based builds ranges from 350 to 420 horsepower. The turbo-four spins the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission, and the coupe weighs less than 2,200 pounds thanks in part to a carbon fiber body. The adjustable suspension system is specific to the GT and softer than the track-bound model's, too. Cyan notes that production of the P1800 GT will be limited, though it doesn't have a specific number of units in mind. Every build starts with a donor P1800, and production takes place in Gothenburg, Sweden. The process requires between 12 and 15 months of work per car. As for pricing, it depends on how the car is configured. Cyan told Autoblog that the average price of the cars built so far hovers around $600,000. That's a lot, but customers keep coming: Cyan notes the second car from the production run has already been shipped to the United States.
