1963 VOLVO PV544 SPORT. HI, CLAYTON FROM LAWTON, OKLAHOMA HERE.   I JUST BOUGHT THIS LITTLE CAR AT AN ESTATE SALE.  IT'S MY HOBBY. I'AM RETIRED ARMY AND FOR THE PAST 22 YEARS I'VE BEEN DRIVING A TRUCK  SO I GET TO TRAVEL THE BACK ROADS AND SMALL TOWNS. PREVEOUS OWNER OF THIS CAR PASSED AWAY A FEW MONTHS AGO SO HIS WIFE DECIDED TO SELL HIS SEVEN CAR COLLECTION, THIS WAS ONE OF THEM. IVE NEVER OWNED A VOLVO AND IV'E NEVER SEEN THIS MODEL,  DID'NT REALLY KNOW WHAT IT WAS AT FIRST.  BUT SENCE BUYING THE CAR I HAVE DONE SOME RESERCH. NOW THE LADY I BOUGHT IT FROM SAID HER HUSBAND HAD OWNED THE CAR FOR SEVEN YEARS. HE BOUGHT IT FROM A GENTELMAN OUT OF CLOVIS NEW MEXICO. SHE ALSO SAID THAT THE CAR ONLY HAS 34140 ORIGINAL MILES ON IT. I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THAT. HOWEVER THE CAR IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND RUNS, DRIVES AND HANDELS ABOUT AS GOOD AS IT GETS. I DROVE IT HOME ABOUT 40 MILES RAN HER ABOUT 65 MILES PER HOUR ALL THE WAY, NO SHIMMY, NO SHAKE AND VERY QUITE. I CRAWLED UNDER HER BEFORE I BOUGHT IT AND FOUND NO RUST, CHECKED THE TRUNK AREA LOOKS GOOD THERE ALSO. PAINT IS VERY NICE AS IS THE INTERIOR. TRANNY SHIFTS LIKE IT SUPPOSE TO. SPEEDOMETER, LIGHTS, RADIO, EVEN THE LIGHTER ALL WORK. GLASS IS PERFECT,  DOORS OPEN AND SHUT LIKE A NEW ONE. ALL CROME AND TRIM IN GREAT SHAPE. TIRES LIKE NEW. THE ONLY THINGS THAT NEED ATTENTION IS THE HEATER MOTOR, WIPERS AND THE TURN SIGNALS, I'AM NO MECHANIC BUT I WILL KEEP TRYING, IF NOT I WILL KNOCK OFF THE AMOUNT WE DECIDE TO FIX THESE PROBLEMS. I BELEAVE THE CAR IS PRETTY MUCH ORIGINAL. THE CAR IS JUST TO NICE TO HAVE NEVER BEEN RESTORED. AND FROM WHAT IVE BEEN ABLE TO GATHER IT SHOULD HAVE RUBBER MATTING INSTED OF CARPET, I LIKE THE CARPET BETTER AND I DON'T THINK THE HUBCAPS ARE CORRECT BUT THERE VERY NICE. RIGHT NOW I HAVE A ITCH FOR A NICE OLD CLASSIC PICKUP TRUCK, SO A TRADE IS POSSIBLE. THANKS FOR LOOKING AND GOD BLESS. I CHECKED THE NADA ON THIS LITTLE CAR AND SHE IS WAY ABOVE AVERAGE. 2020 Volvo S60 T8 Long-Term Review Wrap-Up | Final verdict

Wed, Mar 17 2021

Twelve months of motoring in the 2020 Volvo S60 T8 went by quickly. Our time in Volvo’s sharp, plug-in hybrid sedan is over, and itÂ’s time for a final verdict. The S60 saw two entirely different worlds in its time with us. We took delivery in normal days — you know, pre-global pandemic — but most of its tenure here was in a Covid-19 world. That being the case, it didnÂ’t get out and travel the country as much as our long-term test vehicles normally do. Prior to getting locked down, our S60 took trips to Chicago, Buffalo, the northern reaches of Michigan and elsewhere in the region. Even once its extended driveway sessions began, we snuck it away once to the East Coast for a quick back-and-forth summer trip. We limited our car swaps to once a month in an effort to stay away from each other on staff and keep each other safe. That meant that each of us got to spend longer stints than usual in the driverÂ’s seat — our normal routine wouldnÂ’t have encouraged this behavior pre-coronavirus. It was more like a true ownership experience, which is exactly what we aim to convey with long-term tests. We plugged it in every night, utilized the Volvo smartphone app to track it and integrated the car more fully into our lives. The odometer reading sat at 16,866 miles in the end. A great number of those miles were done under electric power, thanks to the carÂ’s 22-mile electric range when fully charged — our range testing saw it meet or exceed that figure if driven with a light foot.  And since the car was sitting at home so often, it was working with a full charge in most circumstances. Long highway trips saw us match the carÂ’s combined mpg rating of 30 mpg. Most fill-ups would return a much higher effective mpg number, though, as all the electric motoring helps it along. Folks with shorter commutes should take notice, as S60 T8 ownership will greatly reduce the number of necessary fuel stops. Due to the VolvoÂ’s long 10,000-mile maintenance gaps, it only needed to make one regular dealer stop in our time. Besides that, there were two other trips to the dealer. We had recall work done — there was an issue with the automatic emergency braking system — before the first regular service. And a sunroof snafu was the carÂ’s second and last unscheduled trip to the shop. Read on below for all of our final impressions on the 2020 Volvo S60 T8. 2020 Volvo S60 T8 View 15 Photos Road Test Editor Zac Palmer: The S60 T8 is a slightly sporty sedan, but itÂ’s no sports sedan.

Volvo XC40 Recharge Luggage Test: How much fits in the cargo area?

Mon, Nov 27 2023

Note: This post has been updated because, well, I goofed a bit. Turns out it can probably hold just a wee bit more than I originally thought. Oh, and I added a bit about the frunk. The Volvo XC40 Recharge is the all-electric version of Volvo's subcompact SUV that is also available in gas-only versions. According to the uniquely extensive cargo dimensions Volvo shares for its vehicles, every XC40 regardless of power source has the same 20.4 cubic-feet of cargo space as measured from the floor to the headliner with the front seat "limited by vertical plane tangential to the rear side of the second seatback." Like I said, uniquely extensive. There is 16 cubic-feet when measured to the top of the seatback, which is probably more applicable to my luggage tests, but other car companies don't provide those measurements, and if they do, they don't actually indicate as such — and make it seem like their SUVs are smaller and less competitive than they actually are.  One such example is Mercedes-Benz and the GLB/EQB, which is one of the XC40's chief competitors. Its specs say it has 24.0 cubic-feet of cargo space (almost certainly the top-of-the-seatback measurement), but it definitely has more than that since it can hold roughly the same amount of stuff inside its boxy cargo area as a Subaru Outback. In other words, the XC40 is very unlikely to be getting best-in-segment status here. But who knows, let's see! This is a pretty hatchbacky space, so still not looking good for the XC40 toppling the GLB/EQB. It does look pretty similar to the Q4 E-Tron, so let's bring that into the equation.  As you can see, the XC40 has a large, hatchback-style cargo cover. That means I'll have to test with and without that cover.  As with every Luggage Test, I use two midsize roller suitcases that would need to be checked in at the airport (26 inches long, 16 wide, 11 deep), two roll-aboard suitcases that just barely fit in the overhead (24L x 15W x 10D), and one smaller roll-aboard that fits easily (23L x 15W x 10D). I also include my wife's fancy overnight bag just to spruce things up a bit (21L x 12W x 12D). So yeah, I neglected to take a shot of the bags with the cargo cover attached. Sorry. Nevertheless, as you can kinda see here, I could fit the four biggest bags with the cargo cover being propped up by them. This would be worse than the Q4 E-Tron, which could fit all but the fancy bag.

Next Volvo XC90 design teased

Thu, 29 Aug 2013

When Volvo took the wraps off its Concept Coupe yesterday, the Swedish automaker said that while "the all-new XC90 is an entirely different type of car, you will recognize the connection instantly when it is revealed next year." We raised our eyebrows at this upon first read, but after seeing these photos, posted on Feber.se, Volvo certainly wasn't joking.
During a press conference where the Concept Coupe debuted, teaser images of the next XC90 were shown, and the connection between it and the conceptual two-door are obvious. The long, T-shaped lighting elements in the slim headlamps are certainly the most noticeable tie between the two vehicles, but the angular lower fascia openings seen here can also be found quite prominently on the Concept Coupe.
Feber.se also has a few images showing the new taillamp and interior designs of the XC90, as well. And not surprisingly, those two facets of the new crossover's DNA are also surprisingly close to the elements found on the Concept Coupe. It's interesting to see how the concept's C-shaped taillamps have been massaged for the more upright design of the XC90's rump, and inside the cabin, it appears Volvo is serious about this vertically oriented infotainment display.
