You are bidding on a 1989 Volvo 240 with 107'800 miles finished in silver metallic over blue cloth.  2 owners since new.  It offers low maintenance cost and legendary reliability.  Ebay no longer provides free Autochecks to perspective buyers so I have provided it for you.   It's just below the next series of pictures. There's also a video, an in depth description and generic photos from all angles.  Title is in hand and clean and clear of liens.  Fell free to make offers over the current bid.  This auction is NO Reserve.

I took lots of photo's and a video of the car so that you can feel comfortable bidding.  If you read my description, view every picture, watch the video and study
the Autocheck, you will be just as knowledgeable about the car as anyone who's seen it in person.  Also if there's anything you're unsure about,  please don't
hesitate to ask.  I'll usually answer the same day.

Video
Basic walk around.

Exterior
The exterior is in far above average condition for a car of its age.  Little to no rust showing.  The undercarriage is also nice solid, as is the trunk.  Its been garage kept and it shows.  That's not to say its perfect.  There are dings, dents and scratches, but overall its in good condition.  All 4 tires match and are like new.  Don't take my word for it, study the pictures.

Interior
The interior is also in above average condition.  In my opinion the interior looks better in person.  Its also nice and clean, with no holes or burns.  Everything works, that's not say its perfect.  There are a few of the typically fragile 240 parts that have seen better days.  Overall its very nice.  Study the pictures.

Mechanical
Mechanically it’s in solid shape.  It starts right up every time. There's no warning lights on the dash.  The transmission shifts through all gears and the engine pulls strong.  No smoke from the tail pipe.  I'd trust driving this car anywhere.  It really runs good.  It has a new alternator and battery.

I'll Probably recall a few things so be sure check the bottom of the listing for updates!!!!

As you can see I have 100% positive feedback. I have never wronged any one on eBay before. If you win the car and find at the time of pickup that any thing listed in this auction is untrue I WILL NOT HOLD YOU OBLIGATED TO PURCHASE. BID WITH CONFIDENCE!!! I would prefer the car to be picked up within 7 days of auction close. If you would need any more time than that I would have to require a $500 deposit through paypal.

The auction ends Monday April 7th at 9:00 pm central time.  So don't forget to bid!!

Volvo V40 Cross Country gets the all-wheel drive it deserves

Mon, 29 Sep 2014

Want a rugged Volvo wagon? Gothenburg has two kinds to offer: there's the XC crossovers on the one hand and ruggedized wagons on the other. As we reported last month from the unveiling of the new XC90 in Sweden, Volvo plans on offering more Cross Country wagons in the future. But in the meantime, it has upgraded the existing V40 Cross Country with some key enhancements - not the least of which is the long-awaited addition of all-wheel drive.
Powertrain upgrades for Volvo's smallest soft-roader include the new T5 engine (a 1.7-liter turbo four producing 245 horsepower), an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The new powertrain is not only more capable, but also more environmentally friendly than the old T5 it replaces.
The enhanced V40 Cross Country launches in Europe mid-fall before being rolled out in other markets in the following months, but unfortunately the United States is not among them as the V40 is not offered Stateside in any configuration, which is a shame.

Sunday Drive: Volvo hits a crossover home run, and people still love sports cars

Sun, Sep 24 2017

Looking back at the week that just was clearly tells us at least three things. First, crossovers don't have to be boring. Second, people still love sports cars, from the attainable (Audi TT RS) to the fanciful (Mercedes-AMG GT C). And finally, the traditional German trio of premium luxury brands had better not rest on their laurels, because credible challengers are coming in from every direction. The biggest reveal of the week, at least judging by the interest of Autoblog readers, was the Volvo XC40. Not only is the little 'ute a looker, it introduces some innovative new buying/leasing schemes designed to appeal to an audience accustomed to trading in and trading up every couple of years. Think of Volvo's flat-fee lease as you would a smartphone contract, and you'll be on the right track. Genesis looks to have a hit on its hands in the form of the G70 sport sedan. We took a Korean-spec model for a spin and found a lot to like about the upstart contender. We can't wait to sample one here in the United States to see how it stacks up against the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. In other news, we're still really excited to see a production Ford Ranger Raptor. But if you just can't wait for the official reveal — it's OK, neither can we — take a look at the renderings in our post down below. As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. Big rig gets blown over on Wyoming freeway, flattens police cruiser

Sun, Feb 12 2017

A big rig navigating a stretch of windy Wyoming highway last week was blown over by high winds and landed on a Wyoming Highway Patrol cruiser. According to CBS News, three Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers responded to an accident along Interstate 80 near Elk Mountain on February 7. While the troopers were out of their cars assisting the crash victims, a white Volvo semi-truck lumbered up I-80 toward them. Wind gusts in that part of Wyoming were clocked in at up to 90 miles per hour on Tuesday, and one of them caught the semi as it neared the parked cruisers. Video from one of the cruiser's onboard cameras showed the big rig drift to the right as a big gust hit the trailer. Slowly, the whole rig tipped over and flattened one of the parked cruisers. The truck then slid a few feet on its side and came to a stop just aft of the cruiser. None of the troopers were injured in the incident, and two people in the truck came out of it unhurt as well. Patrol Lieutenant David Wagener told KGWN that that stretch of I-80 was closed on Tuesday to lightweight, high-profile vehicles. The truck driver was cited for the incident. High winds are no joke, and vehicles getting blown around or even clean off the road is a pretty common phenomenon. Way back in 2011, a truck got blown over in Utah. Then there was a train that got blown off a bridge in Louisiana in 2015.
