2002 Volkswagen Passat 1.8T. Please note that this car is not driveable. I bought the car in the same condition and was told that it needed a water pump. So I had a water pump installed along with a new timing belt kit and the car still ran the same way. The problem is that the car will overheat, sometimes quickly and sometimes not for 30 miles. The motor does not knock and there is not a bearing problem. Someone suggested that the turbo may be leaking so I also had the turbo replaced, still runs the same way. My guess is now that either the head gasket or the head itself is bad. Also the transmission sometimes shifts a little harder than it should, read that the cause for that that is fluid level is low. It does shift thru all the gears tho. The body of the car is very nice and also the interior is very clean, especially for a light color. I hate to give up on the car especially since I have a good bit invested, but right now I have alot of medical bills and Im not working so it will be awhile before I could get back to fixing it so Im willing to take a loss on it. I also want to mention that sometimes the brake light and abs light is on and the airbag light is on, never got around to trying to figure any of that out, was worried about the overheating issue first. There is a factory cd changer in it and it also has some kind of suspension kit on it, I dont know what kind it is, it is coil over and adjustable I know that. Perfect car for someone that knows how to fix Volkswagens, visually it is still very nice.

Top Gear drag races VW Golf R against McLaren 675LT and Porsche 911

Top Gear's latest quarter-mile drag race in the collects three very different performance vehicles: the 296-horsepower Volkswagen Golf R, 424-hp Porsche 911 Carrera GTS, and 666-hp McLaren 675LT. While each of these cars sit near the top of their segment, they each come from totally different rungs of the sports car price ladder. Spoiler alert, the Golf R doesn't win. But the final results illustrate the diminishing returns of price and performance. For example, the McLaren is only about a second quicker than the Porsche to 60 miles per hour, but the 675LT costs over 2.5 times more that the GTS. Related Video:

Volkswagen CrossBlue previews a three-row future, diesel-hybrid power [w/video]

Volkswagen looks to be getting ready to jump into the large three-row crossover game. The automaker has officially pulled back the curtain on the CrossBlue Concept at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.
Designers and engineers penned the machine specifically for the Canadian and US markets, and with a plug-in diesel electric hybrid drivetrain, the hulking five-door, at least in concept form, should offer substantially better efficiency than anything else on the market. The drivetrain pairs a 2.0-liter turbo diesel four-cylinder engine with two electric motors for a combined output of 305 horsepower and a ludicrous 516 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed dual-clutch gearbox handles shifting detail, while one electric motor spins the front wheels. The second motor spins the back axle independently, make the CrossBlue a through-the-road hybrid.
As a result, the crossover can pop to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds. Perhaps more impressively, the CrossBlue can whir around on all-electric propulsion for up to 14 miles at up to 75 mph. Once the diesel four kicks in, the drivetrain can yield up to 39 mpg, though Volkswagen says the hardware can hit 89 MPGe on a full charge thanks to a 9.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Volkswagen bringing new Tiguan to Frankfurt

As expected, Volkswagen will introduce the new Tiguan crossover at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. While the brand hasn't quite gotten on the endless teaser train, VW's German Facebook page has released a simple shot of the new crossover covered up on the Wolfsburg factory line. We're not able to learn much from the single image released by VW Deutschland, as the sheet being used hides virtually all the body's details. The caption for the image is no help either, simply saying that the first Tiguan for Frankfurt has rolled off the Wolfsburg line. So yeah, that's about it. But while this image isn't terribly informative, we already know quite a bit about the new Tiguan. Its looks will likely be inspired by the Cross Coupe GTE and CrossBlue Concepts, while additional body styles could be offered later in the CUV's life. For performance fans, there will likely be a 300-horsepower R model, in addition to the standard array of gas and diesel engines.
