Great reliable car with excellent mileage, 42+ MPG city and 52+ MPG highway. This is the 1.9 turbo diesel, so it has plenty of pep along with that great MPG! Professionally installed hitch (ABS light came on when installed and trailer plugged in. I had it looked into and told there was nothing wrong, if it bothered me I could have the code cleared in between using the trailer. Never bothered me once I knew there was nothing wrong, just a glitch somewhere). I used it to pull a very small trailer occasionally, basically a larger trunk. For bikes and pet stuff I didn't want to put in the trunk. Wonderful feature and pulls great. Doesn't have all those electronic bells & whistles so it is never in the shop for them. We did however put a new battery in last year and an air conditioner compressor in this summer. Blows ice cold! The oil, belts, etc have all been done on schedule. It has the cloth interior seats, with the normal wear to the drivers side. Exterior has normal chips and scratches for a 13 year old vehicle. Front wheel drive so its very good in the winter. I have tried it break this little car free on the ice in parking lots and its very hard to do. Has never had a WVO waste vegetable oil system on it, but could easily be converted.
Smoke free, adult owned and stereo system is unmolested.
This is the perfect car for someone who commutes long distances or a student going back to school. Reliable, solid, safe and great MPG!

Car companies may need to start curbing model proliferation
Mon, 17 Nov 2014Looking at the current automotive landscape, especially from German makers, you quickly get the impression that less definitely isn't more. BMW alone offers its 3 Series platform in practically every segment possible, including the regular sedan and 4 Series Gran Coupe, which would seem to be direct competitors. Porsche might be the winner, though, with 20 different variants of the 911 listed for sale on its US website. However, some of this model madness might be reaching an end as companies begin cutting back spending or shifting money to other priorities.
According to Yahoo Finance, the offerings from the German automakers are up 25 percent over the past three years to over 200 models in Europe. The peak is expected to come around 2018 at 230 separate vehicles, according to consulting company PwC.
Amazingly, BMW, which is among the poster children for this model explosion, might be changing its tune. "I'm sure there will be points in the future where we look at certain cars and say, 'Maybe we need to think differently now,'" said head of sales Ian Robertson in an interview, according to Yahoo Finance. The statement certainly sounds shocking coming from a company rumored to have 23 front-wheel-drive vehicles all using a single platform on the way.
