1994 Volkswagen Golf GL 4 door Hatchback. This vehicle has the 5 speed manual transmission and the 2.0 l gas 4 cylinder engine. The car starts and drives as it should. The clutch works as it should and the car steers solid on the road with no pulling from side to side. The brakes function as they should. The interior is reasonably clean and is free of rips and tears. This is a good economical car. It has some defects in the paint as you can see from the clear coat peeling, there is some minor rust around the back window lower left and on the driver side rear door. The car is not some rust bucket by any means but is beginning to show some wear after almost 20 years. The glove box latch works but the handle part is broken, it will still open and latch, just a little more difficult to do. I am sure a new latch could be purchased or a junk yard could have a replacement. The rubber boot around the shifter is coming loose but does not seem to affect the shifting in any way. The vehicle has a clear Ohio title and if the car is purchased with cash the vehicle and title will be released immediately. If the vehicle is payed with a check then the funds must clear the bank before the title or car will be released. The funds will be payed in US dollars only. VW Golf TDI circles US on less than $300 of diesel

$294.98. That's how much it cost the Volkswagen team to drive across all 48 contiguous states in the union. Which is pretty impressive, but it's only part of the story. In an effort to demonstrate just how economical a conventional diesel engine can be, VW sent a team out from its US headquarters in Herndon, VA, in a Golf TDI. Their mission was to visit all the Lower 48 on as little fuel as possible. Over the course of 16 days, they traveled 8,233.5 miles, burned through 101.43 gallons of fuel, and marked a frankly astonishing average of 81.17 miles per gallon. As a result, the team – made up of hypermiling automotive journalist Wayne Gerdes and electronics engineer Bob Winger Â– picked up a new Guinness World Record for the lowest fuel consumption achieved in a non-hybrid car across the 48 contiguous states. The previous record, it's worth noting, had also been set by VW and Gerdes, who piloted a 2013 Passat TDI at just a hair under 80 mpg. But here's the kicker: in raising the diesel economy bar even higher, the team also beat the record for the same achievement in a hybrid vehicle by over six mpg. So the next time someone tries to tell you a hybrid is more efficient than a diesel (at least on the highway), you can point them towards this record. Volkswagen Golf voted 2013 European Car of the Year

The seventh-generation Volkswagen Golf just went on sale in Europe, but it is already off to a promising start. Announced as the Geneva Motor Show kicked off, the newest Golf was named European Car of the Year for 2013 in dominating style over cars like the Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT86 twins, Volvo V40, Ford B-Max and Mercedes-Benz A-Class.
According to Automotive News Europe, the MkVII Golf won handily over its rivals with a total of 414 votes. The Subaru BRZ and Toyota GT86 received 202 votes finishing in a distant second, while the Volvo V40 (189 votes), Ford B-Max (148 votes) and Mercedes-Benz A-Class (138 votes) round out the top five. The new Golf marks the third Volkswagen product to receive the prestigious award with previous cars including the MkIII Golf and the most recent iteration of the Polo.
