Power Steering, Power Locks, Power Windows, AM/FM Radio, Cassette, etc. Comes with Optionally Purchased: VW Custom German Front Seat Covers for seat protection, Custom Heavy Duty Rubber Matting to protect Carpet, Custom Snap-on VW Window Cover/Curtains, etc. I purchased this beautiful Eurovan from an airline pilot in Texas, who purchased this vehicle new from a VW dealer and took an exceptionally good care of it. His family needed to upgrade to a motor home, so he sold it to me when it had only 11, 000 miles. I have loved this van and taken care of it with a help of a team of excellent master mechanics. I wanted this van to last as long as it can! Unfortunately, my needs have changed and I have changed residence too, and now I need a smaller car. I would like to see this van get a good use out of it at the hand of a rightful new owner. Please be advised I have reported an incident in 2004 when I left the van at the airport, someone must have bumped into it and made a little ding and scratched the side panel. My deductible on my insurance did not make sense to repair the minor damage, so the dent and the scratches are still on the van to this date. Also, there are a few minor imperfections on the exterior over the years. I will try to show them in the pictures. Please take a good look. As for the interior, it is near perfect with no tears. It is very clean since I was the only one driving this van and did not drive it that much either. One thing that is missing is one of the plastic flap that covers the area under the 3rd seat, but my friend has made me a substitute panel for it. You can buy the panel, but this worked fine for me. Mechanically everything as far as I know works perfectly well and since I had Over All Check performed by a master mechanic just recently, it continues to runs like a dream! Only thing not working is the driver's side power mirror, since I have it set in my fixed position, I didn't have to move it anyway, but this has to be addressed by the new owner, so I will price this van accordingly. Hope I have listed everything I know about the van, but please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Thank you for reading this and hope you will find it helpful. Enjoy! |

Ecotricity offering 1,000 free EV miles to new customers
Thu, Feb 13 2014Ecotricity is offering electric vehicle drivers in the United Kingdom an lengthy incentive for using green energy: 1,000 miles of free fast charging per year. Called "Green Electricity + Car," the program will power customers' homes with renewable power allow them to charge their cars through Ecotricity's national network of fast chargers, which the company has named the Electric Highway. It makes complete sense for Ecotricity. "To get the greatest environmental benefit from an electric car, it needs to be charged using 100 percent green electricity from the wind and the sun – otherwise you're still powering it from dirty fossil fuels," wrote Dale Vince, founder of Ecotricity. Ecotricity, a UK-based producer of green energy, wants to bring fast charging to 90 percent of highway service stations around the UK in the near future and four fast chargers are installed per week under the Electric Highway campaign, the company says. Users can fast charge their EVs in 20-to-30 minutes. Ecotricity recently instituted a price freeze for all gas and electricity customers until April 1, reducing energy costs below what's being billed by the country's "Big Six" energy companies. Green Electricity + Car coincides with Volkswagen bringing its electric e-Up! to the British market. Volkswagen Group (UK) Limited imports VW, Audi, SEAT and Skoda brand vehicles and has signed a deal with Ecotricity as its official green energy supplier. Volkswagen Group customers purchasing an EV through one of its brands can take advantage of a new, reduced-cost Ecotricity tariff and a free smart meter installation. 08 February 2014 Green Electricity + Car Drivers of electric cars will receive 1,000 free miles every year with a new electricity tariff being launched by green energy company Ecotricity. Green Electricity + Car – will not only power customers homes with green energy but also their cars (either 100% electric or plug-in hybrids), plus they'll get free access to Ecotricity's national network of fast chargers[1] – the Electric Highway. This latest move comes after Ecotricity announced a price freeze for all gas and electricity customers until the end of winter (April 1st), making them cheaper[2] than the standard tariff of the Big Six energy companies.
Elon Musk says VW scandal proves limits of fossil fuel cars
Fri, Sep 25 2015Tesla Motors chief Elon Musk didn't appear to mince words when commenting on Volkswagen's diesel-emissions scandal when making comments at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy conference in Berlin this week, according to Bloomberg News. Musk called the news of scandal "obviously bad." He also used the opportunity to note that he thought the German automotive industry may be lacking when it came to getting its powertrains to cut emissions. Pretty tough talk in Berlin. Musk did note that, when it came to clean electricity generation, Germany was ahead of many countries. But he also used the occasion to note that global industries could do a better job addressing "the chemical constituency" of the world's air and oceans. Musk also spoke to the Belgian press about the VW scandal this week. Asked if people might lose their faith in green technology, Musk said that what the scandal shows is that "we've reached the limit of what's possible with diesel and gasoline. And so, the time, I think, has come to move to a new generation of technology." You can see his comments in the video above, starting at 1:12. Musk made these comments as the automotive industry reacts to news that Volkswagen tried to game the system by manipulating its diesel-powered vehicles to meet worldwide emissions regulations. VW has set aside $7.3 billion to address the issue, and has estimated that at least 11 million vehicles may have been programmed to cheat emissions mandates. As a result of the scandal, VW CEO Martin Winterkorn has stepped down and Porsche chief executive officer Matthias Muller has taken over. For those keeping track, VW sold almost 51,000 diesel vehicles in the US through the first eight months of the year. That is about eight percent less than a year earlier but is probably about three times the number of Tesla Model S electric vehicles Musk sold in the US (we say probably because Tesla discloses neither monthly nor country-specific sales). So, while this may not be a case of diesel envy, Musk did have a pretty wide-open shot to tweak VW and its reliance on diesel technology.
