*** THIS LISTING IS FOR MY UNCLE *** (he's
active eBay member (bbjoko) but since I was in same situation and successfully
sold my flooded Ducati motorcycle back in January here on eBay, he asked me to
list this one for him) STORY So, it is with deep regret that he is offering today his much appreciated 2012 Volkswagen EOS 2.0L TSI with Automatic DSG transmission Convertible car. VERY long
story short, he bought this car in January 2013 on an online auction site
(Copart), with a SALVAGE-FLOOD US TITLE. March 2013, Province of Quebec's
government decided that flood-damaged vehicles could NOT be registered anymore
(effective March 2013), no matter when they were purchased. Still hoping
they would consider registration for at least those of us who bought flooded
cars BEFORE the new law, he spent the following months taking EVERYTHING
apart, cleaning, repairing and/or replacing everything that had to be done, FOR
HIM DRIVING THIS CAR IN SUMMER (not for resale or whatever). One year
later, after working countless hours on the vehicle, he's basically stuck with
it, since may 20th of this year, government officially announced
they will stick to their decision. WHAT YOU WILL GET Perfectly
running 2012 VW EOS 2.0L TSI convertible car with 16,169 miles to the counter. EVERYTHING
is working on this car, including, of course, the magnificent hard-top
convertible roof. There're no error codes, no malfunctions. What was done on the car? (My uncle
works part-time in a VW garage, rebuilding salvage cars, so his experience in
the matter is undeniable) -
COMPLETE
professional cleanup; -
Changed driver's
seat mechanism (the whole thing, since
it's all electrical and didn't do well underwater…); -
Cleaned both
front and back passenger's seats (some
rust is visible on front passenger seat frame, didn't bother him, doesn't
affect anything); -
Changed the
complete transmission shifter mechanism; -
Changed all airbag
modules; -
Changed
complete roof opening motor and mechanism; -
Changed all
fluids; What is missing on the car? -
Bluetooth
module; -
Media module; (They're cheap to buy and easy to install. Was
planning on doing so, but since it's a total loss of money in his situation, he
stopped) CONDITION/WARRANTY/TITLE The car is obviously not new, has absolutely no
warranty and is sold strictly as is. We try to describe everything to the best of our knowledge and have
included pictures of the major flaws (some scratches, very small bumps). MANY
more pictures are available, eBay's limit is 24, and we will send everything
you want on demand. As for the title,
this car now has a CANADIAN salvage title. It did have an US title, which was
destroyed by our government (normal procedure), once my uncle transferred the
car on his name. Having the US title back is possible, we don't consider it a
necessity, but are open to discuss. SHIPPING Shipping and shipping fees are buyer's responsibility. I gained great experience in shipping matter when I
sold my Ducati so, I won't do the whole job for you, but definitely will help.
The transporter that carried my motorcycle back to Florida did a perfect job
and was the cheapest I could find. No matter who transports it, you will
definitely need the service of a broker to cross the border (+/- US500$). I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TAXES YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY, since these are
regulated by US government. Of course,
local pick-up is welcome. We don't mind shipping overseas and outside US, but
have far less experience in the matter. (Shipping
to Canada is worthless, basically all provinces share Quebec's vision on
flooded cars, so you will be using it for parts only) PAYMENT Upon
successful sale, an immediate 500$ deposit will be required. Full payment is
due prior to shipping, once everything is set up. Will accept PayPal, cashier's
check (won't ship before it clears) or Wire Transfer. QUESTIONS/ADITIONAL INFORMATION Please feel free to ask any question you may have, we
will answer ASAP; pictures, videos, local visits are available. We've had enough trouble in this adventure, so we want an
easy and pleasant transaction.
HAPPY BIDDING!

2018 Buick Regal TourX vs. wagon competitors: How it compares on paper
Wed, Jan 31 2018To the great joy of auto enthusiasts nationwide, wagons are back! Well, at least there's a few more of them. The latest is the 2018 Buick Regal TourX, which we just had our first drive of and found to actually be quite good with pleasant handling, solid power and plenty of space. But, how does the TourX compare to other cladded wagons? Well, let's dive into the specs and fire up the ol' spreadsheet maker for Buick Regal TourX vs Subaru Outback vs Audi A4 Allroad vs VW Alltrack vs Volvo V60 Cross Country. True, some are from mainstream brands and others are from luxury marques, but Buick straddles both realms, so it's appropriate to look at them all. Of course, there's more to these cars than just the numbers, but they're still important, and in the case of this class of crossover-aping wagons, can vary more than you'd expect. So check out the specs in the chart below, which are followed by more analysis and photos of each. Discover and compare other wagons and crossovers with our Car Finder and Compare tools. Engines and Transmissions When comparing powertrains, the Buick is far-and-away the winner as far as torque is concerned, and is in a nearly three-way tie for horsepower. Its 295 pound-feet of torque is 22 lb-ft more twist than the next-most-grunty Audi A4 Allroad. And in regards to power, the Buick's 250-horsepower engine is only down 6 hp to the most-powerful Subaru and its optional naturally aspirated flat-six, and just 2 hp less than the Audi. At the bottom of the pack is the Subaru Outback with the standard naturally aspirated flat-four, which only makes 174 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque. That may not seem too bad compared with the VW Golf Alltrack, which only makes 170 hp and 199 lb-ft of torque, but the VW is much lighter by between 200 and 300 pounds. Transmission-wise, there's quite a bit of variation in the group. The Regal TourX and the Volvo V60 Cross Country rely on eight-speed automatics, all Outbacks use CVTs, and the Alltrack and Allroad have dual-clutch automated manual transmissions with six and seven gears, respectively. But for people that want to shift for themselves, the only option is the Volkswagen, which offers a traditional six-speed manual transmission on the Golf Alltrack. Cargo and Interior Space One of the main reasons to buy a wagon is for the body style's large cargo capacity. And for the most space for things and stuff, you'll want to check out the Subaru and the Buick.
Volkswagen Group looks to add ridesharing brand to portfolio
Fri, Sep 30 2016Volkswagen is rapidly trying to put the ongoing diesel scandal behind it at the Paris Motor Show with the unveiling of the automaker's electric I.D. Concept. In addition to unveiling the EV, the automaker also announced that it established a yet-to-be-named subsidiary for ridesharing purposes. The new brand will be VW Group's 13th, and will add mobility services to in the form of a carpooling service, similar to that of Uber and Lyft. This will include teaming up with Gett – a cab-hailing startup that operates in roughly 70 cities worldwide, which includes New York City, that was previously known as GetTaxi. Earlier this year, VW invested $300 million in the company. In addition to ridesharing, VW Group claims it is also hard at work on its own shuttle service as the brand aims to become a leader in urban mobility services by 2025. The name of the 13th brand and more information on the subsidiary will be released in November. VW Group also announced plans to give Gett drivers in Moscow, Russia "preferential terms" on a Volkswagen Polo, Volkswagen Jetta, Skoda Octavia, or Skoda Rapid. VW Group's 13th brand sounds similar to Mercedes-Benz's Vision Van Concept, which the automaker would allow consumers to lease and purchase the vehicle, as well as rent its services on a short-term basis. While the Vision Van Concept is a commercial vehicle that has delivery drones on the roof to aid deliveries, VW Group's shuttle service sounds more like autonomous buses to ferry people around. Now that diesels are dead, Volkswagen has quickly embraced the future, where autonomous and electric vehicles coexist. Related Video: Related Gallery Volkswagen I.D.
