1969 VW Bus Westfalia This is a unique one of a kind custom restored bay window bus. We purchased and restored this one owner NEVADA bus (for my son who is 18) that is now off to college and needs a car with a/c. Our loss is your gain. Bummed but certainly not desperate. This is a super clean and straight, safe and solid 98% restored bus. This is a "TOP 20 of Show" winner and a very reliable daily driver. It has an original Nevada title and hence has little to no rust issues. Bus has current Nevada registration and Nevada tags. Camper pop-top was removed for a "beachy hard-top classic look". This Bus also has a new custom interior by Gene Gonzalez along with a state of the art sound system complete with blue tooth and a 10" base box that rocks. Photos speak for themselves. We (Me, my son and his Uncle) spent nearly 2 years rebuilding and restoring this bus. Basically went through each and every aspect of it and either renewed or replaced with new OEM parts. Too many to list but we do have most all receipts and records. New parts and components list available upon request for any and all serious buyers. PAINT/ BODY This one owner bus was stripped down to the shell, media blasted and then given a professional 2 stage window out paint job by Premier Auto Customs with no orange peel (There is small dings on back left corner. Nothing a bit of touch up paint couldn't fix). The bus was repainted the classic two tone look using the original VW Montana Red and off-white. Under carriage was sand blasted and we addressed the minimum rust issues it had. We then prepped and painted it as well. Installed over $300 in dyna-mat alone. Original chrome bumpers, detailed front beam , all new suspension, shocks, cv joints, brake lines and much, much more. All window & door seals were replaced with OEM German seals. Custom white european dash (cracking near the bottom by the parking brake) and hand painted steering wheel and brand new windshield too. Mom even made us add a deluxe custom frontal impact roll cage to the interior for her baby boys safety. INTERIOR This interior is a custom Gene Gonzalez design. The front seats were taken apart, re-stuffed and reupholstered. All seats have custom seat belts, no rips and are in near mint condition. All cabinets have been taken out and the bench seat has been extended to both sides. All interior panels were replaced with matching white panels. Custom white headliner too. ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION Completely re-built 1600. Was a single port that we converted to dual port. New carb, distributer, alternator, battery, fly wheel , muffler exhaust, etc, etc. Painted the tins to match the bus. See Photos link above So as you can tell this is not your average '69 Westfalia Bus. This bus is in excellent condition with little to no rust. This was a full two year restoration. This bus has been garaged. Interior is in amazing shape and brand new. However, the bus still needs a couple of things. Namely a clock in the dash, rear view mirror, heater knobs and assorted knick knack stuff. This bus is a time capsule that you just don't see every day. This bus would be the perfect center piece for any VW collection. This bus can be used for car shows and or a daily driver. Feel free to call with additional questions. I have pictures before and after the restore. Come drive this sweet piece of nostalgia! Serious buyers only /or call/text to Steven Brooks (702-466-4805) |

Volkswagen feuds with thriving stablemate Skoda
Wed, Oct 4 2017BERLIN, Oct 4 (Reuters) - Volkswagen managers and unions are seeking to curb competition from lower-cost stablemate Skoda, move some of its production to Germany and make the Czech brand pay more for shared technology, company sources told Reuters. As VW struggles to cut jobs and spending at German factories and turn the page on dieselgate, Skoda's superior car reviews and profitability have intensified the brands' rivalry within the Volkswagen empire. VW now wants to reduce what it sees as Skoda's unfair advantages - combining German technology with cheaper labor - and reaffirm the top-selling brand's primacy ahead of a wave of new electric car launches, the sources said. The tussle between VW and Skoda is reviving tensions at the heart of the Volkswagen group between profits and jobs, and between central control and autonomy for its 12 vehicle brands. "Instead of devoting our efforts to beating Tesla, we may just be setting up a futile internal conflict," said one manager. Once the butt of jokes, Skoda has blossomed under 26 years of VW group ownership into a successful mid-market carmaker, steadily winning business from rivals - including VW - and surpassing even Audi's operating profit margin last year. At the same time, VW is facing thousands of job cuts as management moves to trim excess capacity at German factories. Its powerful domestic unions see Skoda's success as both a threat and a potential lifeline. VW workers' representatives are now demanding the transfer of some Skoda production to their underused German plants, a source close to the supervisory board told Reuters. The proposal aims to offset declining output of the VW Passat and aging Golf that could otherwise threaten more jobs. They are also making the case that Skoda should pay higher royalties to use VW's main common vehicle platform. The so-called MQB architecture also underpins mid-sized models from the group's Audi and SEAT brands. Responding to the news, Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka said he would meet Skoda management and unions to ask for clarification. The government will seek to ensure that VW investment plans are followed through and that "production is not moved outside the country," a statement released by Sobotka's office said. Skoda's main union warned that a production shift could cost as many as 2,000 jobs. VW's works council declined to comment.

Weekly Recap: 2016 CTS-V gives Cadillac new momentum for the new year
Sat, Dec 27 2014It's been a rough year for Cadillac. The historic luxury carmaker been in the news for all of the wrong reasons: Declining sales, ditching its advertising agency and the relocation of its headquarters from Detroit to New York. But in late December, Cadillac reminded everyone what it does best: Build some of the rawest and most compelling luxury sedans in the world, as evidenced by the 2016 CTS-V. This monster churns out 640 horsepower from a supercharged 6.2-liter V8. Sound familiar? That's the Corvette Z06 engine, and it makes this CTS the most powerful production Cadillac ever. It also puts the sporting divisions of the Germans on notice. The new CTS-V easily overpowers the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S 4Matic and its 5.5-liter biturbo V8 rated at 577 hp, and the BMW M5 (with the competition pack) and its 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 that pushes out 575 hp. The rear-wheel drive Cadillac can sprint to 60 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds, which is close to the 3.5-second time turned in by the 4Matic-driven E63 S, and a bit quicker than the 4.1 seconds posted by the M5. With Magnetic Ride Control, General Motors' stout eight-speed automatic transmission (also used in the Corvette), Brembo brakes and a carbon-fiber option package that pretty much builds your car out of carbon fiber – it's clear this Cadillac means business. Truth be told, we expected this CTS-V to deliver. It's been a serious sports sedan for a decade, and the recent generation and its 556-hp arrogance have been particularly memorable. But notice what we're doing here? We're talking about product. Not who makes Cadillac's ads, or if the brand's headquarters has a mailing address in NYC. Like the 2016 ATS-V that's due in the spring, the debut of the 2016 CTS-V (on sale in late summer) is a shot in the arm for Cadillac, and its arrival comes during time of transition. The brand is trying to reinvent itself as a modern luxury maker. It wants new customers, a different image and obviously more sales. Those things are going to take time, but with a 640-hp sledgehammer of a sports sedan on tap for next year, Cadillac can still maintain some of its swagger through all of the change.
