You are looking at my 1990 Westfalia, Multivan with 4 speed, 80% are auto.I think this is an exceptional Van,  originally from dry New Mexico, then garaged in Washington for a 6 years and now located in Southern California. The Vanagon features New paint, the exterior was completely stripped, sanded and prepped including removing all windows,window rubber, fiberglass tops, bumpers and all body parts. The van was in paint shop 3 months getting it right. Everything on exterior including jambs and interior was painted and color sanded, All exterior parts are new or repainted or reconditioned.This work was finished in the last 15 months. New orly blue paint (Original/Factory color with multiple clear coats, body is very straight and shows it with this dark color. No accidents. All of the glass was removed during paint and new rubber was installed on every window during replacement, new front windshield was installed at that time also. New aluminum 16" CLK wheels with correctly rated new tires, Stud conversion and custom caps, new 3 window tent canvas by Just Kampers. PW, AC, AM/FM, CD system. Interior is original thats very clean with no damage wear or rips in the seats. Van runs and drives as good as it looks. Van had a full review by mechanic at 172,836 miles about 1 year ago. All compression, transmission and mechanical running gear in great condition and running order, mechanic gave it a top review, can provide mechanics documentation. I have many receipts for motor parts, repairs, clutch and brake system & service for many years. This Westfalia is a safe a well driving van that is ready to cruise the coast or camp in your favorite state. This van runs and starts with ease. Motor sounds good and doesn't make any noises and run clean. The transmission shifts smooth. I have $1000's in receipts over the years, brakes, heads, clutch, services, all kinds of misc parts and maint/services. Have documentation for compression, full check out and Mechanic reports no issues with this Vanagon. Ready to go. 
I drive it a few times a month and never let me down. Engine 100% stock and all smog equipment in place as from VW.

Most stunning was the speed of it all. On the morning of September 18, Volkswagen AG stood atop the automotive world. It was profitable and sold more cars than Toyota and General Motors, its two main rivals for global supremacy. By nightfall, the company would be embroiled in scandal. Revelations the German auto giant cheated on diesel emissions testing in the United States reverberated from Washington to Wolfsburg, Germany. What started out as a problem with 482,000 VWs and Audis in the US exploded into an international scandal. Millions of vehicles have the rigged software, meaning VW broke environmental rules as its cars spewed pollutants all over the world. The fallout began immediately. Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn – one of the most respected and capable executives in the business – apologized on Sunday and Tuesday. On Wednesday he resigned. As the week progressed, the company's stock took a beating and credit agencies threatened to drop their ratings. VW dealers and owners said they felt betrayed. The automaker hired a law firm that defended BP after the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. The EPA is already extending its testing procedures to look for "defeat devices" like the ones used by Volkswagen. On Friday the company announced a major restructuring. Matthias Muller, Porsche's chief for the last five years, took over as CEO of Volkswagen and is charged with picking up the pieces of a shattered company facing regulatory action and lawsuits. With GM, Toyota, and Takata scandals still fresh, Volkswagen will likely experience unprecedented levels of scrutiny. Additionally, VW's markets in the United States, Canada, and Mexico will be combined into a North American region under the leadership of former Skoda boss Winfried Vahland, though US chief executive Michael Horn will stay on. The company is also realigning its brands by specialty and streamlining its board. Firings, government action, restructurings, and international outrage – things that usually build up over months or years – all occurred in about a week. With dizzying speed, Volkswagen's future has changed dramatically. It all happened, it's still happening, so fast. Germany to accept diesel software fix rather than retrofit millions of cars

BERLIN — The German government will not force the car industry to make costly changes to engines to cut diesel emissions but will settle for software updates for around 2 million vehicles, industry and government sources said on Tuesday. The sources were speaking before a summit of politicians and car executives scheduled for Wednesday to discuss ways to cut inner-city pollution to try to head off bans on diesel cars — a sensitive issue ahead of national elections next month. The summit must also start to restore the reputation of one of Germany's major industries which has been badly tarnished since the Volkswagen emissions scandal broke in September 2015. The auto industry has agreed to software updates for around 2 million cars that will cost around 300 million euros ($354 million), a government source said. An industry source said foreign car makers had not agreed to participate for now. The deal suggests the industry has headed off demands for hardware upgrades that would cut more pollution but would also be much more expensive — with the potential costs as high as 10 billion euros. The deal also foresees a range of other measures to reduce emissions, the sources said, such as subsidies for electric buses, taxis and other municipal vehicles, as well as a commitment to increase the number of charging stations. The sector and the government will each contribute half to a 500 million euro fund aimed at helping local governments reduce pollution, blamed for causing respiratory diseases. CITY BANS The compromise might not cut emissions enough to stop bans of diesel cars in German cities - like the one in Stuttgart confirmed by a regional court last week. DUH, the environmental lobby group that brought the Stuttgart case, has said it wants moves to go beyond voluntary software updates or it will take further legal action. Chancellor Angela Merkel's conservatives have come under fire from consumer and environmental groups as well as opposition lawmakers for their close links to carmakers. "The car industry can always rely on the support of the government when things get difficult," said Timo Lange, a campaigner with LobbyControl, a non-profit group. Transport Minister Alexander Dobrindt rejected suggestions on Tuesday that he is too closely tied to the industry. The Environment Ministry has already made clear that software improvements can only be a first step as they reduce nitrogen oxide emissions by about 25 percent on average.
