88,000 mile Westfalia with many thousands of dollars of parts and countless labor in 2011 including a photo album and file of receipts and owner documentation from 1977. This bus was never abandonded and then restored. It has been in light use since new and wore it's original paint until 2011. It has since only been used for one overnight and less than 200 miles total.  I have included two pictures to show the bus before it recieved the following:
new paint

bodywork with three small metal patches
new windshield
new canvas top with screens and top moulding
four new tires
new muffler
Fuel system: rebuilt tank ($550), new sending unit, grommets, new pump, filter, clamps, remove and clean injectors, new injector seals, flush, clean, & test entire system.
Ignition system: wires, plugs, alternator belt, battery, vacuum hoses, clean & adjust points, check timing.
Odds & Ends: sandblasted and painted rims (need touch up now), windshield seal, hoses, new OEM taillight housings and lenses, GE headlight bulbs, 2 side markers, window crank handles, 3 Westfalia OEM cabinet handles, restuff front seats, new carpeting, remove and wash all upholstery except rear bench which was carpet cleaned in place, rubber front floor mat (under carpet), and God only remembers what else.
This bus starts up immediately and runs strong. Clutch, transmission, linkages, brakes, steering all work great.
Currently the blinkers and four way flashers do not work. The heater controls are also non functioning. Oddly, It only sometimes drips a small amount of oil.
I also have an original Westfalia tent that IS NOT included in this auction.  I wasn't sure if the next owner of the camper would be interested in one. I timed the auction to end shortly after the auction for this bus.
This auction is open worldwide. Bidders with 90% or less positive feedback or no feedback WILL be deleted unless you contact me BEFORE bidding.

Thu, Feb 16 2023

The 2023 Chicago Auto Show played host to a number of reveals this year, and we were there to capture all of them. In traditional auto show fashion, that means you’re getting a mega gallery of galleries to flip through and see all the vehicles on the show floor. Our EditorsÂ’ Picks from the show are already out — spoiler alert, the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander took home the prize. That said, there were other important reveals like the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport and the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek. We also learned some interesting tidbits, such as the fact that VW is considering a pickup, and Jeep owners really are plugging in. To see the photos, scroll on down and start flipping through those galleries.   2024 Toyota Grand Highlander 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander View 7 Photos 2024 Volkswagen Atlas 2024 Volkswagen Atlas View 14 Photos 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport 2024 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport View 7 Photos 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse with its carbon fiber wheels 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse with carbon fiber wheels View 7 Photos 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray View 10 Photos Jeep Wrangler Anniversary Editions Jeep Wrangler Anniversary Editions View 3 Photos 2023 BMW XM 2023 BMW XM View 6 Photos Ram Revolution Concept Ram Revolution Concept View 6 Photos NASCAR Chicago Street Race Pace Car — Toyota Camry NASCAR Chicago Street Race Pace Car ? VW planning 20 new plug-in models for China

Thu, Oct 30 2014

With just about everything getting super-sized for China, Volkswagen is following suit with its plug-in vehicle plans for the world's most populous country. VW, Europe's largest carmaker, is looking to sell more than 20 different plug-in models in China within the next four years, Reuters says, citing comments Volkswagen Group China head Jochem Heizmann made in Shanghai. The company is hoping that translates to sales of more than 100,000 plug-ins in China by the end of the decade. Go big or go home, right? There's a huge plug-in vehicle opportunity in China, especially given the bad pollution situation in cities like Beijing and Shanghai and the Chinese government's incentives for plug-in vehicle buyers. Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn said at the Beijing Motor Show this spring that the company would spend $25 billion on at least a half-dozen plug-in models for China by 2018. VW will start selling the e-Golf in China this year and the Golf GTE plug-in hybrid in 2015. VW said in August that it would start selling the e-Golf in the US for about $35,500 in November. That's a $6,500 price hike from the base Nissan Leaf.

Volkswagen Golf Variant Concept R-Line puts the sport in SportWagen

Wed, 06 Mar 2013

With the introduction of the newest Volkswagen Golf Variant, we get an early look at what will most likely be the next-generation Jetta SportWagen here in the US. To further wet our appetities, VW is now teasing something a little sportier with the Concept R-Line. Looking the part of a GTI wagon (or a stretched Golf R), the Golf Variant Concept R-Line has a production-ready appearance that has us hoping we'll see this sporty wagon sooner rather than later.
The R-Line starts off with a new fascia that isn't quite as aggressive as the recently introduced GTI, but it gives the new styling some extra punch. Below the fascia is a lower splitter that visually carries back into the rocker panel extensions, and the rear of the car gets some bright exhaust tips and a rear diffuser. The Lapis Blue Metallic paint job probably does enough on its own to add a sporty flair to the Golf wagon, and it's all finished off with 18-inch split-spoke wheels. Inside, the Concept R-Line shows off sport seats wrapped in carbon leather featuring blue nappa inserts in the middle.
Rightfully so, VW brought the Concept R-Line to Geneva with its TDI and 4Motion all-wheel-drive system. A sporty, all-wheel-drive diesel wagon? Yes, please. Scroll down for the full press blast with all the details.
