Please note: International buyers welcome.  We have a clean registration, and have shipped many many buses overseas.  Please call James at +19707753437 to work out a deal!

Up for sale is a recently redone 1965 Standard VW Microbus.  Don't let the looks fool you- we wanted to preserve the original paint and faded look, but replaced all mechanicals and it runs and drives great!  The bus is lowered slightly, has new Safari flip out windows in the front, and has brand new seatbelts for 7 people!  Here is a list of the work:
  • New 1776cc Dual carburetor motor with electric fuel pump and remote oil filter (receipts available- built locally)
  • New Benco swing axle transmission
  • New Starter
  • New brakes all around (all shoes, wheel and master cylinder, soft lines)
  • New front beam with dropped spindles (adjustable, 4" narrowed)
  • New cargo floors
  • New front floors
  • New inner and outer rocker below cargo doors
  • New battery tray
  • New taillights
  • New seatbelts (7 total)
  • New Wolfgang made in USA Safari windows
  • Empi flat black 5 spoke wheels with red pinstripe
  • Dynamat Extreme on cargo floors and luggage area (makes it much quieter!)
  • Deluxe grey TMI interior
  • Included but not pictured are all new outer frame and body seals for the 6 popout windows, and also front kick panels.
With all the work that has been done it is still an old bus and has it's share of quirks- the rear hatch doesn't like to shut without some help, it is missing the rear apron and bumper, no passenger seat, some electric needs to be sorted out (all electric for driving works).  Headliner is a bit tattered also.  The only rust holes are in the passenger side outer short rocker, and the long inner and outer rocker on the driver's side.  There are other minor issues- but all the major areas are done or new.

For payment- $500 non refundable deposit due within 24 hours of the auction close.  Within 5 business days the full amount must be paid via bank transfer, bank deposit, or cash- no exceptions!  I can't take a cashier's or personal check, and I can't take payments or wait 2 weeks for the money- sorry.  Also no trades please unless it is a 15, 21, or 23 window :)

Shipping in USA is generally $500-$1200, and shipping from port to Europe is around $1,200 USD.

Clear registration ready to transfer, no warranties or guarantees of any kind.  Bus is located in Loveland, Colorado, it is the buyer's responsibility to make an informed purchase.  Bus is up for sale locally and other places online- ebay auction may be pulled down if the right offer is made!

For those curious- we are looking for around $13,000 USD for this bus but will entertain offers- especially if you can pay fast!  Check our feedback- 100%

This semi-autonomous stroller from VW is a great idea

Thu, Aug 13 2015

We're still on the fence about the prospect of autonomous vehicles. On the one hand, they promise to make commuting a breeze and collisions a thing of the past. On the other, they stand to take us away from the steering wheel, and that's something we can't abide. But an autonomous stroller, now that's the kind of idea we can get behind. Shame such a thing doesn't exist... right? That's what we assumed until we saw this spot from Volkswagen. The German automaker's Dutch office posted on Facebook, asking the public for suggestions on how the company might improve other products, aside from automobiles. The most popular response was a baby stroller with automatic braking. So they went ahead and built one. The resulting prototype – and we're sorry to report that it's just a prototype for the time being – doesn't just have automatic braking. It can even follow the parent (or nanny or whomever) around under its own power and with its own steering. It's got the adaptive cruise control sensor from a Golf and is programmed to keep a fixed distance from the guardian in front. Or so the video suggests, at any rate. There's a good chance that there's some manner of trickery going on here, probably in the form of a hidden engineer off-screen with a remote control, and hopefully without an actual baby on board. Whether it's real or not, the invention in the commercial is sure to pique the interest of the parents among us, and maybe get those without kids thinking about taking that big step... stroller autonomously in tow.

Updated J.D. Power APEAL study shines on VW Group, Chevy

Wed, 24 Jul 2013

J.D. Power has just revealed the results of its 2013 APEAL Study, which looks at which brands have the most appealing cars based on sales figures, dealer inventory, brand loyalty, transaction and trade-in prices. The study was revamped for 2013, and places a larger focus on the new tech and infotainment options available to customers. All told, study participants gauged their vehicles on 77 different attributes, delivering a score out of a 1,000 points.
The Volkswagen Group had the greatest success of any corporation, topping the APEAL rankings with the Audi Allroad, Porsche Boxster, Porsche Cayenne, VW GTI and Passat. Chevrolet had the highest number of awards for a single brand, though, with the Avalanche, Sonic and Volt all taking home a prize.
The best brand overall was Porsche, which scored 884 out of a possible 1,000 points. The top Japanese brand was Lexus with a score of 847, while the top American brand was Cadillac, at 841. The best mainstream brand was Ram, which received a very respectable 817. The industry average for this year's study was 795, with 16 brands, all of which were mainstream, falling below the average.
