1974 Volkswagen Beetle/bug Custom, Like Dune Buggy/thing Convertible Hot Rod on 2040-cars
Jacksonville, Florida, United States
| Custom front to back; one of a kind. Mack truck hood ornament(bull dog). The first picture is to show "hubcap"/mag different look. Has full mag rims that were painted black on the fronts by previous owner as all other pictures show (paint can be removed). Not just a cruiser, but deserves a VW magazine front page. Offers will be made to buy this at every meet or beach hang-out you go to. I choose to sell it via this Ebay & Craigslist, but if I wanted to spend the time going to, and hanging at VW club/car meets, it would not be a problem selling at my price. There is no back seat or top (I'm sure one can be installed even if a roll bar is part of the plan; even small buckets/jump seats may be adaptable). All carpeted with nice two fold middle split cover over battery & other floor well. Starts & runs good. No oil smoke; hardly any dripping. Clutch & shifting good. Two rear speakers. Compare with dune buggys on Ebay. My price is real close to upper end dunes. And, do you really want an "A-typical" dune clone? Ya seen one dune, seen them all. A roll bar in my VW can adapt a bimini or similar sunshade targa, & work for surfboard, beach equip, etc. cool carry. ALL NEW items: floor pan, wiring, brake parts, *front disc brakes, axle dust boots & bearings, shocks(rear have adjustable springs), front end parts, stainless trim pieces on running boards, $800 in Kumho tires, chrome lug nuts with locking one on each wheel (key to locking lugs is stored in engine compartment which locks), and so on. The battery is not very old. Also includes a 100% waterproof elastic cornered, & vented storage cover (for event outside parking, etc.; it does keep car dry). NEEDS SEAT BELTS. CLEAR TITLE/VEHICLE ID#. THE LAST PICTURE IS WITH HUBCAP ALTERNATIVE . *****LOCKING STEERING WHEEL, WHEEL LUGS, & ENGINE HATCH. ELECTRICAL CUT-OFF SWITCH TO ALL CAR FEEDS BEHIND PASSENGER SEAT********* ****** ***** ************* **************** * WILL ALWAYS ::::: BEACH HIGH TEN . * BEST BUSINESS PROMOTION ATTENTION GETTER. * GEORGIA BULLDOG TAILGATER THEME & COLOR. * WOULD LOOK EVEN BETTER WITH A CUSTOM ROLL BAR/SNAP-ON CANVAS BIMINI (THIS WOULD RAISE VALUE // EVEN BETTER LOOK FOR SURE). I MAY BE PAINTING THE GRILL "CHROME" AT SOME POINT & INSTALLING NEON LIGHT EFFECTS IN GRILL GROOVES/UNDER RUNNING BOARDS (LOOKS LIKE THE GRILL WAS SILVER & PAINTED BLACK). ^^^^^^^^*****THIS WILL PROBABLY BE MY LAST EBAY LISTING FOR AWHILE. THINKING ABOUT TAKING TO THE SPRING TURKEY ROD RUN IN DAYTONA & LOCAL VW MEETS/CLUB EVENTS.

Volkswagen bringing driver assistance systems to its 2016 lineup
Sat, Aug 1 2015Chevrolet isn't the only manufacturer rolling out luxury safety technologies on a 2016 mass-market lineup. Volkswagen has just announced that next year it will begin adding driver assistance systems to its lineup here in the States – stuff that was previously only available on Audi and Porsche models here, or Volkswagens in Europe. Adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, and autonomous braking will be standard on the CC V6 4Motion, optional on certain trims of the Golf and Jetta. Blind spot monitoring will be standard on the Beetle, and top CC and Jetta trims, but optional on the Golf and lower Jetta variants. Automated parking will be available on Golf models, including the e-Golf. Blind spot assistance with rear traffic alert, lane departure warning, park distance control, and an automatic post-collision braking system also come in the technology kitty, all of which will be packaged at prices between $695 and $1,495. Infotainment options take a bit step up, too, with every VW model but the Touareg being fitted with touchscreens. The new MIB II head unit comes in four sizes, the Beetle, Jetta, and Tiguan getting the smallest, five-inch screen as standard but upgradeable to a 6.5-inch screen. Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and MirrorLink are integrated into that larger screen. The interface is improved by a faster processor, higher resolution, and better graphics, and some will come with swiping and pinch-to-zoom functionality. The two press releases below lay it all out in detail. VOLKSWAGEN DEMOCRATIZES HIGH-END DRIVER ASSISTANCE FEATURES FOR THE 2016 MODEL YEAR Many models in the 2016 Volkswagen lineup offer new driver assistance systems that used to be the sole preserve of premium and luxury vehicles Herndon, VA Jul 29, 2015 — For the 2016 model year, Volkswagen is offering a host of driver assistance features that were only previously available on the premium Touareg SUV—and adding some new ones that truly democratize driver assistance for the compact sedan and compact hatchback classes. These available features include: Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking (Front Assist); Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC); the Parking Steering Assistant (Park Assist); and an active Lane Departure Warning (Lane Assist) system. The Beetle, CC, e-Golf, Golf, Golf GTI, Golf R, Golf SportWagen, and Jetta offer these available features, depending on model and trim line.
Yes, a family of 5 can live in a 1981 VW Westfalia van
Fri, Feb 14 2014Automakers and marketers trying to reach environmentally conscious consumers who desire the simple life basically have two strategies: promote electric vehicles that can be charged through green energy or sell a 30-year-old Volkswagen van on Craigslist. Nicolas Boullosa and Kirsten Dirksen opted for Plan B and turned a 1981 Volkswagen Westfalia camper into a "micro-living" experiment. The co-founders of the simple living website faircompanies packed up their van and three young children for a road trip through the Pacific Northwest. They even turned the adventure into a documentary called Summer of (Family) Love, which you can view below. It's two hours long, so maybe add this to your weekend viewing list. They limited themselves to one backpack per person into a camper that they purchased off Craigslist and named "Westy." They stuck to their original intention of cooking all their own meals off a propane stove, creating a new little home every night in a different location, mostly spaces outside RV parks. They met up with other enthusiasts of the "tiny house" community who live like nomads. They were able to interview a few of then and, "With each stop we picked up some new piece of wisdom about life's essentials," Dirksen wrote in the faircompanies blog.
