1965 VW Beetle (Custom)

5" Chop Top

1778 cc built motor (chrome)

4 speed manual transmission w/scat shifter

Rag top roof

I bought this car about a year ago.  Love it but got a baby on the way soooo she's got to go.  Haven't had any problems with it at all.  Only thing i have done to the motor is oil changes.

Typical volkswagen...she's cold blooded but once she's warmed up....she's an animal.

Here's the bad:

Passenger window has cracks (never mattered to me because windows were always down)

There's one spot of rust (message me for pictures...couldn't upload them)

Radio works off and on.  So don't buy this car for the radio lol

Other than that I can not think of anything bad about this car.  Like I said...I hate to see her go but she needs a new home to make room for my real baby.

Feel free to ask any questions.

Buyer is responsible for all shipping....set up...payment...etc.

On Apr-10-13 at 16:36:17 PDT, seller added the following information:

I've added some extra pictures...including the spot of rust.  That is the only major spot I've seen.  The build of the car (not the engine) was 2001 I believe so there's bound to be some minor blemishes but nothing major.

Also I forgot to mention...the car comes with some extra parts...chrome light housing, etc etc, and a tow bar.  If you have the winning bid but are having the car shipped I can ship the tow bar separate.  No biggie.

Again...feel free to ask any questions!

Thanks!!!

2013 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid

Tue, 12 Feb 2013

More Fun Than A Prius, Less Sensible Than A TDI
Let's have some fun, and do some math. We're talking pretty rudimentary stuff, multiplication and division, to figure out if the upcoming Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid can make a baseline case for itself against two very strong competitors in this segment. The competitors in question, at least for now, are two more Jettas: the diesel-drinking TDI and the fit-for-the-masses SE with VW's long-serving 2.5-liter engine.
To keep the equations clean and simple (hey, we're writers), we'll calculate based on the most flattering EPA miles per gallon stat from highway driving for all cars, assume a healthy 20,000 miles driven per year, and factor in today's average cost for the respective fuels these three require: diesel (TDI), regular (SE) and premium (Hybrid). We'll also start with the base prices for all models.

Volkswagen New Midsize Coupe Concept is an aspirational Jetta

Mon, 21 Apr 2014

Meet the Volkswagen baby CC. Okay, that's not really it's name (VW calls it the New Midsize Coupe Concept), but this sleek, four-door coupe draws more than a little inspiration from the CC while riding on VW's MQB platform.
It's a looker, we think, and is an eye-pleasing departure from the bland styling of the current Jetta. The sleeker front end is complemented by a wider body overall (it's wider than a Passat), while the more sporting roofline and the sharp rear fascia gives the New Midsize Coupe a decidedly sporting character. LED head- and taillights add a bit more personality to this already stylish design.
Thanks to its 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder, it should get along rather sportingly, as well. The run to 62 miles per hour takes just 6.5 seconds thanks to the 217 horsepower on offer. A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic is also fitted, and contributes to an estimated 37 miles per gallon.

EU formally questions French government assistance of Peugeot's finance arm

Fri, 28 Dec 2012

Recently, the finance arm of PSA/Peugeot-Citroën was in such debt trouble that it was pricing itself out of the car loan market. The rates it was paying to service its debt, which was rated one step above junk, were so high that it was forced to charge car-buying customers higher rates than they could find elsewhere. This was adding to Peugeot's already impressive woes by sending revenue out the door to competitors.
Two months ago a deal was worked out with the French government whereby the state would provide 7 billion euro ($9 billion USD) in bonds to guarantee the finance arm's loans. The French government could nominate someone to join the Peugeot board, Peugeot would guarantee more French jobs, and on top of that deal, other banks would provide non-guaranteed loans. The government would take no equity stake in the car company.
Although not yet finalized, the arrangement is meant to create some breathing room for Peugeot Finance to lower its interest rates for customers, and a government-nominated board member, Louis Gallois, was recently named to Peugeot's supervisory board. The arrangement was also openly questioned by at least three competitors: Ford, Renault - which is 15-percent owned by the French government after it received state aid - and the German state of Lower Saxony, itself a 15-percent shareholder in Volkswagen.
