1955 VW ragtop bug. The car is not a frame off restoration. I would put it at a driver quality paint job, with a few blimishes (still very eye catching). The bug is not an original ragtop, but has a three fold top in it now. I bought it from a guy who had the work done for the top. The interior is pretty nice, with a new headliner. Great looking front mirrors. The under hood area was painted black when I got the bug and needs the cover for the back of the dash. The nose is not all rusted out, but has been crunched up in the last 59 years. The heater channel does have some small holes in it, but overhaul the floor is in decent shape. One floor board has been changed out in the past. When I got it, the car had all new seals in the windows and doors, also on the trunk and hood. I have the radio face for the car. The car has pretty new tires. All the glass is original to the car.

I am no VW specialist by any means. If you have any questions, please ask them before bidding. I can take more pictures if needed.

Again, this in not a show car or frame off restoration, BUT it is a very cool nice looking car that needs a little here and there. Fun to drive with the top open.

German carmakers recall 630,000 diesel vehicles in Europe

Mercedes, Opel, Porsche, and Volkswagen will recall over 630,000 cars in Europe, according to reports Friday. No diesel car has been able to get under the legal emissions limit in real-world driving, according to a German government investigation. While only Volkswagen Group has been using a specific "defeat device", other carmakers have been playing with their exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) systems. Depending of the manufacturer, the systems have been cut off at a certain temperature. In a specific test cycle the systems operate to fulfill the legal requirements, but in everyday use the limits are exceeded. According to the magazine Der Spiegel, the supplier Bosch is behind this programming and has provided it to all German automakers. The mentioned carmakers have announced recalls, but many other manufacturers are also mentioned by name in the report, including Alfa Romeo, Chevrolet, Dacia, Fiat, Ford, Hyundai, Jaguar, Jeep, Land Rover, Nissan, Renault, and Suzuki. PSA Group, which produces Peugeot, Citroen, and DS cars, declared yesterday that its offices were raided following an emissions investigation. 1000-hp Mk1 VW Golf is terrifyingly cool

There are plenty of things to love about the Mk1 Volkswgen Golf. The machine's horsepower isn't one of them. From the factory, the little hatch cranked a breathy 112 horsepower from the most robust form of its 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. Boba motoring, however, has taken that figure and multiplied it by a factor of nearly 10. If 1,000 horsepower sounds terrifying in a machine with a wheelbase of just 94.5 inches, it should. A massive Garrett GTX4202R turbo force-feeds the little mill through a tweaked 16-valve KR head. The crew calls the beast the 16Vampir, and we think that's fitting.
Of course, we'd wager you quit reading right about the time you set your eyes on that headline. Those of you who've stuck around this long can point yourselves below to see the maniacal creation in action. You won't be disappointed.
