2004 Volkswagen Golf R32 4Motion
We refer to it as the Purple People Eater, or the SleepR. Yes, it really is an R32. VIN# WVWKG61J74D127583. Clean title, clean Carfax. Just under 109k. Originally a Reflex Silver R32. Still silver under the Matte Purple Royal wrap. This car is loaded with extras and a blast to drive. Lots of compliments on this "nice GTI". If you can handle people not knowing you have an R32, and if you can handle the attention it brings, this may be the car for you. We understand that this car may not be for everyone, but definitely a unique R32. First off, the front and rear bumpers have obviously been swapped for non-R bumpers. The front is a 337 bumper and lower valance. The rear bumper is the 337 with Euro TDI valance. No cut out. The dual tip exhaust is behind the valance, modified to point down. We do not have the OEM bumpers, so please do not ask for them. Side mirrors have been swapped for Euro stubby mirrors. Rear hatch completely shaved. Hood notch filled and badgeless grill up front. The interior still has all it's original OEM Koenig seats. They are the full leather seats. They are in great shape. All OEM interior parts and pieces that you would expect to find on an R32. iPod iPhone connection to the OEM factory radio. Interior is in great shape. Exterior has recently been wrapped with 3M material. Color is called Matte Purple Royal. In the door jams, and engine bay you will still see the silver paint. The wrap is only a few weeks old so it is in great shape. No damage on the vinyl. This R has a bunch of extras: Wheels are CCW Classics - Fronts 18x9.5, Rears 18x10 42 Draft Design 15mm 5x100-5x112 Adaptors Techtonics Tuning 264/260 24V Billet Cams ECS Cold Air Intake Morosco catch can w/ AN fittings and braided line Bluewater Performance/UM E85 tune, Stage 1 Bluewater Performance Fuel Rail, Fuel Pressure Regulator, AN fittings and braided lines HPA Competition Haldex Controller Integrated Engineering SAI block off plate JDL Prototype Mid Pipe JDL 24V R32 Prototype Headers Vmaxx coilovers Custom Magnaflow Catback Exhaust Autotech Drilled and Slotted Rotors - front and rear USP Motorsports Stainless Steel Brake Lines Porsche Brake Pads HPA short shifter Mishimoto Radiator Mishimoto Oil Cooler AEM UEGO Gauge 42 Draft Design B Pillar Gauge mount Defi Oil Temp Gauge We do not have any extra or stock parts for this car. Feel free to email us for links for dyno video and charts, and more discussion on the forums. We are able to answer any questions you may have. Feel free to call or text 480-248-4546. Car is located in Scottsdale AZ. Buyer is responsible for transportation of the vehicle. We have shipped cars all over the United States. We are able to help locate a reliable transportation company, if needed. While taking pictures of the R32, I noticed the front passenger side side-marker light has fallen off. New ones have been ordered and will be included in the sale. |

Recharge Wrap Up: VW's Last Mile Surfer, Apple's BMW i3
Tue, Jul 28 2015Volkswagen has unveiled its Last Mile Surfer. This little electric scooter – it folds up small enough to fit in the trunk and weighs just 24 pounds – will go on sale next year for around 1,000 euros ($1,100 US), according to VW chairman Martin Winterkorn, as reported by Autocar. Of course, we're wondering why you'd need to pay that much money to avoid walking a mile, but maybe we just haven't walked that far in an interested buyer's shoes. See more at Autocar. Did Apple want to use the BMW i3 as the basis for its own electric car? That's the word from the German magazine Manager, which says that Apple and BMW were talking about using the i3 shell for the plug-in iCar (or whatever) started last fall but are no longer actively taking place, but the two organizations have not totally closed off communication. Read more at Manager or at Green Car Reports. BMW is continuing its efforts to connect your car to your phone in interesting ways with the new EnLighten app. The idea here is to let your phone act as a bridge between alerts about traffic signals and the car, so that notifications can be displayed in the dash instead of on your phone. That should keep more eyes on the road and let drivers minimize those races to the next red light, which will save fuel. At least, it will do so in cities that broadcast that sort of signal information. Read more in the press release below. Traffic City Info Makes Driving in Cities Easier than Ever Woodcliff Lake, N.J. – July 27, 2015... The BMW Group announced today that it is the first manufacturer to bring the EnLighten App, by Connected Signals, into the car. Drivers of BMW Vehicles with iOS Devices will be able to see traffic signal data on the vehicle's display in real time. The EnLighten app makes driving in cities easier by helping the driver anticipate traffic signal changes, which can increase safety and help save fuel by avoiding unnecessary acceleration. The EnLighten app shows the current status of the traffic light in front of the car in real time as well as a countdown to when the signal will change. Based on the current vehicle position, as well as its speed, the EnLighten app offers a recommendation about whether or not to stop for the traffic light or proceed through. An audio alert notifies the driver about a pending change in the signal they are approaching.
Pontiac Aztek enjoys rebirth thanks to Millennials
Fri, Sep 11 2015Apparently, Millennials – those between 18 and 34 – aren't afraid to look different on the road, and they like performance, too. A new study by Edmunds is discovering some surprising vehicle choices by this group. Among them, the long-derided Pontiac Aztek is getting a new day in the sun with 25.5 percent its buyers coming from this generation in the first half of 2015. For comparison, Millennials represent an average of 16.8 percent of used car purchases. The Aztek is slowly shaking its reputation as a styling abomination, which seems tied to its appearance on Breaking Bad. The show premiered in 2008, and the Pontiac has been on this list for four of the past five years, according to Edmunds. It even led the pack in 2010. A recent Retro Review from MotorWeek also showed that the crossover wasn't always so hated. While it's still a shock to see the Aztek on any popularity list, the awkward-looking crossover only ranks sixth among Millennials. The vehicle with the biggest portion of buyers from the generation is the Dodge Magnum with 27.6 percent. According to Edmunds, the bluntly styled wagon is especially popular in Detroit and Chicago. The Chrysler Pacifica comes in a close second at 27.3 percent. When it comes to used cars, value and utility appear to trump just about anything else for many Millennial buyers," Edmunds analyst Jeremy Acevedo said in the report. Young buyers aren't afraid of sporty rides, either. The Subaru WRX has 26.4 percent Millennial buyers to rank third place on the list, and the Volkswagen R32 takes fifth at 25.7 percent. Just a few points lower in seventh place is the Nissan GT-R at 25.4 percent, and the final performance machine in 10th place is the Lexus IS-F with 24.7 percent. Related Video:
