2001 Vw Jetta Lagoon Blue --no Reserve-- on 2040-cars
Carlisle, Pennsylvania, United States

I have a 2001 VW Jetta VR6. Rare Lagoon Blue color. Newly rebuilt engine from the block up. Cleaned and honed block, pistons, new valves, new rods, new plugs, new coil pack, new guides, ported head, new hi-flow chrome header, stage 2 racing clutch, mint black leather interior, sunroof, heated leather seats, premium spoke rims, new outer tie rod, new front tires. Driven about 1000 miles after rebuild, sounded and drove beautiful, lots of power!
A couple days ago the lower timing chain broke. Coasted it to a parking lot and towed it back to the shop. Not a terribly hard fix, but I don't have time or the will to take the tranny out and do the job since I am moving out of state in less than a week. Put a lot of time and money into the rebuild but I'm stuck, Therefore I am selling the car or trading it. The price is fair but I am open to negotiation and trade offers. The car will also come with many extra parts from the rebuild including a header with less than 100k on it. Any questions or inquiries just message me. Happy Bidding |

VW Golf GTI wrung out by Chris Harris
Thu, 27 Jun 2013Enthusiasts like nothing more than to crucify modern interpretations of their favorite performance models for failing to live up to some imagined ethos. Even the Volkswagen GTI has suffered its fair share of slings and arrows for growing in size and curb weight. Chris Harris recently spent some time with the all-new MK VII GTI to find out if growing up means giving up on what makes the machine so special.
Judging by his comments, Harris certainly doesn't think so. Yes, the new GTI is considerably more comfortable than its predecessors, but that's hardly a bad thing. The multitude of driving modes actually seem to add depth to the car rather than simply try to force one tool to do many jobs, and Harris even finds the machine's electronic power steering tolerable. As a result, Harris goes so far as to call the Volkswagen GTI "one of the best cars to actually own." How's that for high praise? You can watch the video for yourself by scrolling below.
Volkswagen iBeetle gets integrated iPhone dock, little else
Fri, 19 Apr 2013Apple fans have been itching to see the tech giant flex the full muscle of its iOS operating system in an automotive infotainment system for years, which is why we turned all sorts of excited when we caught wind of the Volkswagen iBeetle. The machine is headed to the Shanghai Motor Show for a debut, and VW promised it would be one of the "first cars in the world to have a genuine integrative interface for the iPhone that was coordinated with Apple." Listen closely, and you can hear the contented sigh of a million wallets opening.
Go ahead and close those up, kids.
In reality, the iBeetle offers little more than a dash-mounted dock and a special app that shows a few vehicle functions, which is about as far from an infotainment revolution as you're likely to find. In fact, the setup is little more than a factory rehash of aftermarket items, and hardly worth a whole model debut at an international motor show. And that's to say nothing of the fact that Apple relishes in changing the shape and form of its darling handheld at every generation. Volkswagen better be prepared to keep pace with appropriate docking mechanisms for the upcoming iPhone 5S, 6, 6S, et al.
Porsche 911 and Nissan 350Z get smoked by unlikely hero
Mon, Jun 1 2015So a Nissan 350Z Procharger and a current Porsche 911 GT3 drive onto the Autobahn together - stop me if you've heard this one before - and they decide to race. We're not sure how much power the Z is packing, but the stock model topped out at 306 horsepower on the last year of its run in 2009. And if that's a stock GT3 then it will be rocking something like 475 horsepower. So the Z and the GT3 give it a racing go, and just as one of them starts to pull away they're both overtaken by one of the most unlikely dark horses you could imagine. It's a really short video and we won't spoil the surprise, so check it out above.
