My wife and I decided to sell this car which is now even a more incredibly low price for someone who would like a great GTi that has great aftermarket products installed by a great company called RPM.  Additionally, I had the cluch replaced by the VW service which cost me $2,200 and did, so it would be like brand new. Aside from that, and when the RPM did all that they did...many people who see it think it's a brand new car...lol. Actually, in my opinion, while only a brand new car is perfect...this one is close to being like a new car and far better with all of the very expensive aftermarket products added. Now while we paid approximately $41,000 for the car, aftermarket products and the new cluch...we're selling it for a LOT less. In fact, we're selling it for about the same price as just a regular 2008 GTi.  For example, look at the other ones here on eBay.  Most are 14.5K to 15.5K and am sure all of them are nice yet ours has a LOT of aftermarket products in making it a Show Car!!  And yet, we'd also let someone buy it for less than $2,699 with ALL aftermarket products accept the current wheels and tires and you could replace them with the original wheels and tires that we still have here at no extra cost. The new wheels cost $5500 and the tires were approximately $400. Yes, it would be much better to buy it WITH the new wheels and tires, in my opinion...not just because the new wheels are BEST but also because you'd save $3,201 in those. This is a great price so...first come/first served!

"Show Car"? Sure, my son has done that locally due to the aftermarket products added. Meanwhile, The PA State Inspection was done this November which means all is good...no surprise to me. We bought it for him for $19,000 from the dealer in Wexford, PA. When we bought it, this car had 46,720 miles whereas now it has 54,822 so its only been driven 8,102 miles and FAR less since all the fantastic aftermarket products were added just before my son went to college.  He couldn't have a car there so we decided to sell it. The good news for the buyer is that it cost $20,000 for the aftermarket products that was installed by one of the best companies in the USA...called RPM and you can call the main one who did it, his name is Justin and he did really good! They were installed approximately only within the past 6 months when my son went to college...so it had less than 500 miles on the aftermarket products!! My son always referred to it as his "baby" and he drove it very well, kept it very clean and always took care of it. I'm NOT the expert about aftermarket products on cars yet my son sure is and I discovered that RPM is great in doing them. In effect, as told to me by my son, the mods include:

-2 13.5" JL audio Tw5 subwoofers
-Pioneer AppRadio Headunit
-Interior Red LED lights
-Autopilot v2 suspension
-18" BBS super RS's powder coated white
-Eurojet Turbo Back Exhaust
-Neuspeed P-flo cold air intake

The good news for a buyer is that I own the car here in Pennsylvania and have the Title. I do require payment by cash or by your banks Cashier's Check. As for the latter, I would want to know about it prior to the buyer arriving to pick up the car as I will call your bank to confirm that it's legitimate. And then we'd go to my bank to confirm it as well. After that, the Title will be changed to the buyer at a place very close to our house after the payment is completed successfully.

Aside from the aftermarket products here's the details of the car as I understood it:

• 2008 Volkswagen GTI

• 2.0L l-4 TURBO engine

• 6-speed MANUAL transmission

• Beautiful candy white exterior

• Anthracite interior

• Great color combo!!!

• Xenon high intensity headlights

• Front fog lights

• Front air conditioning

• Cruise control

• On-board trip computer

• Sirius am/fm/mp3 premium stereo

• 6-disc cd changer

• 10 speakers and 2 HUGE Sub Woofers

• Power windows

• Power door locks

• Power side-view mirrors

• Light-tinted windows

• Four-wheel ABS brakes

• 3 ABS channels

• Brake assist

• Abs and driveline traction control

Shipping, if necessary, is full responsbility of buyer. If being shipped, full payment must first be received. If pick up, same applies though can be done simultaneously.

Volkswagen Passat gets classier styling, tech updates for 2016

Tue, Sep 22 2015

Volkswagen revealed a snazzier-looking, better-equipped version of the Passat Monday evening, which will start at $23,260 when it goes on sale as a 2016 model late this fall. The refresh updates VW's midsize sedan, though the changes are mostly evolutionary, and they come as Volkswagen is mired in scandal following charges it cheated on EPA tests. The design features a new hood, grille, rear bumpers, and front fenders. It's also the first VW sedan to offer LED head- and taillights as an option, and the 2016 version is the first Passat to get an R-Line package, which includes black accents, 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels, and a custom front bumper. "We applied a progressive design strategy with the new Passat, giving the car a dynamic presence and a more sophisticated look," Klaus Bischoff, Volkswagen head of design, said in a statement. "We have integrated several new design elements, including a sculpted, domed hood that significantly sets the car apart from its predecessor." Inside, the cabin gets nicer materials, including chrome and piano-black trim, a new steering wheel, and available heated rear seats. VW's second-generation modular infotainment platform is standard, and it offers swiping and pinch-to-zoom features on most models. Volkswagen's Car-Net system is also available, which allows for smoother smartphone integration. The powertrain lineup carries over and is made up of the 1.8-liter turbo four-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbo diesel, and a 3.6-liter V6. It's unclear if the TDI model will be offered at launch in light of VW's recent diesel scandal. VOLKSWAGEN UNVEILS NEW 2016 PASSAT WITH STRIKING DESIGN, INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY AND ENHANCED VALUE The Chattanooga-built Passat raises the bar in the midsize segment, offering new styling inside and out as well as a host of new connectivity and driver assistance features • Striking new front and rear design • New interior with updated instrument panel and center stack for a more premium feel • Standard MIB II infotainment system includes USB connectivity • Available VW Car-Net® App-Connect supports smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™ and MirrorLink® • Energy-efficient LED headlights and taillights available for the first time on a VW sedan • New driver assistance systems are standard features on select trim levels • First-ever R-Line® trim for U.S.

Volkswagen profit jumps as it warns of a cooling auto market

Wed, Oct 30 2019

FRANKFURT, Germany — Volkswagen says its profits jumped 44% in the third quarter thanks to a more profitable mix of vehicles in its lineup but warned that global car markets are slowing more than expected and lowered its forecast for annual sales. After-tax profit rose to $4.42 billion (3.98 billion euros) as revenues rose 11% to $68.27 billion (61.42 billion euros). The sales margin of 7.8% exceeded the goal of 6.5-7.5% as vehicles bringing higher profits took a larger share of sales. The Wolfsburg-based automaker pointed to the headwinds facing the industry by saying that it expects "vehicle markets will contract faster than previously anticipated in many regions of the world." It said sales would be "on a level" with last year's record of 10.8 million vehicles. Previously it had expected a slight increase. The company said its profits would be in the lower end of its forecast range. Global automakers are facing a slowdown in sales amid disputes over trade and from pressure in the European Union and China to develop and sell low-emission vehicles that require heavy investment in new technology. Ford and Renault have issued profit warnings in recent days, while Daimler, maker of Mercedes-Benz luxury cars, lost money in the second quarter and is expected to outline a cost-cutting strategy for investors on Nov. 14. Volkswagen is leading the push into electric vehicles in Europe by launching its ID.3 battery-powered compact car at prices it says will make zero local emission vehicles a mass phenomenon. The company was able to increase earnings in the quarter despite an 18% rise in spending on research and development.

Carmakers ask Trump to revisit fuel efficiency rules

Mon, Feb 13 2017

Car companies operating in the US are required to meet stringent fuel efficiency standards (a fleet average of 54.5MPG) through 2025, but they're hoping to loosen things now that President Trump is in town. Leaders from Fiat Chrysler, Ford, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Nissan, Toyota and VW have sent a letter to Trump asking him to rethink the Obama administration's choice to lock in efficiency guidelines for the next several years. The car makers want to revisit the midterm review for the 2025 commitment in hopes of loosening the demands. They claim that the tougher requirements raise costs, don't match public buying habits and will supposedly put "as many a million" jobs up in the air. The Trump administration hasn't specifically responded to the letter, although Environmental Protection Agency nominee Scott Pruitt had said he would return to the Obama-era decision. The automakers' argument doesn't entirely hold up. While the EPA did estimate that the US would fall short of efficiency goals due to a shift toward SUVs and trucks, the job claims are questionable. Why would making more fuel efficient vehicles necessarily cost jobs instead of pushing companies to do better? As it is, even a successful attempt to loosen guidelines may only have a limited effect. All of the brands mentioned here are pushing for greater mainstream adoption of electric vehicles within the next few years -- they may meet the Obama administration's expectations just by shifting more drivers away from gas power.
