1999.5 Mk4 Vw Golf Gti 400 Whp Turbo Vr6 Custom One Of A Kind $55k In Upgrades!! on 2040-cars
Clermont, Florida, United States

Hello fellow VW
enthusiast, meet my MK4 1999.5 fully custom turbo GTI VR6 which represents all
the best of speed, style, and sound! When I say custom, I mean there is
NOTHING stock about this car... $20,000 in the engine bay and drive
train, $20,000 in custom paint and body work, $10,000 in the suspension,
brakes, wheels, and tires, and $5,000 in the interior and sound system.
This beast is ready to plaster you into the back of your seat and is
currently tuned with full stand alone engine management to over 400 whp.
The motor is fully built top-to-bottom and ready to make over 600 whp if
you so desire. The car has been transformed into a real wide-body (not
using a body kit) with all body moldings and door locks shaved and has a custom
black and silver two-tone paint job along with Audi door handles. In
addition, it has huge Porsche brakes, a fully adjustable coil-over suspension,
and staggered wheels and tires for an aggressive stance and fly-paper adhesion
to the road. Add to that tastefully done black alcantra door panels,
headliner, and pillars with a great sounding custom sound system!
Everything has been done meticulously and to the highest standard.
The car runs and handles
great and will make a true enthusiast very happy. The chassis has 82,527 miles on it, but the engine build only has about 7,000 miles on it. The
stand-alone engine management system is Lugtronics (Megasquirt) and gives you
full control over tuning with my Dell laptop which is included with the car.
You can easily monitor and adjust every parameter of fuel, ignition, etc.
and document the results via the Mega Viewer program. You also have
control over launch, rev limiter, NOS, or any other output. There is an
RS-232 data cable inside the car which connects to the included Dell laptop and
has all the tuning and documentation software on it. Just plug it in and
start tuning with this amazing software!
This car is absolutely
incredible, but since I am very particular, I think there a few minor things
that you should know about: the gap between the front bumper and fenders
is not perfect and there are some minor stone chips (the car has been driven
and is not a trailer queen after all). In addition, there are two pieces
of trim missing on either side of the radio/climate control in the dash and the
back window tint has a bubble in it. Other than that the interior and
exterior are immaculate! Also, the back seats have been removed but are
included with the sale of the car.
Well it's time for the
CHA-CHING portion of the listing... Here are all the parts and modifications on
this one-of-a-kind vehicle:

VW chair says component cost decrease keeps him confident of EV success
Tue, Mar 25 2014Volkswagen AG is in the middle of implementing a comprehensive electric vehicle strategy, one that we've been documenting for a long time. The Group stands ready to offer dozens of plug-in vehicles in the coming years if it feels there is sufficient demand and believes that selling a million EVs in Germany by 2020 is reasonable. That would be a solid number, but remember that VW sold over 5,923,000 passenger cars around the world last year, and the group as a whole sold over 9.7 million. At the company's annual Media Conference and Investor Conference in Berlin recently, the chairman of the board of VW AG - surrounded by some decidedly non-green examples of the VW Group's vehicles (some absurd new Bugatti, for example) - took some time to put the company's EV plans into focus. The upshot is that Dr. Martin Winterkorn is still guiding his electromobility ship into new waters, saying that "many more [plug-in] models will follow." Winterkorn said there are three main reasons he is confident in the ability of VW (and Audi and Porsche, at the very least) to push EV sales upward. Batteries are getting better, he said, and if the ranges can be extended, then customers are happy. But the real secret lies in reducing component costs. He said (as translated): It is important to look at the cost of the components: the battery technology, the electric motor and the electric components. Whenever you go into volume production, you of course have economies of scale. In two to three years' time, if we are able to achieve the goals we are setting for ourselves with cost and reach sufficient volume, I do believe that we can achieve two to three percent [market share] within VW Group. So, hitting a million EVs by 2020 is reachable. With the e-Golf and the e-Up off to excellent sales starts, we're willing to be confident as well.
In wake of Volkswagen scandal, cheating may actually get easier
Thu, Sep 24 2015The three crises that rollicked the auto industry in recent months – a rising death toll related to the General Motors ignition-switch defect, the Jeep Cherokee hack and now the Volkswagen cheating scandal – all have one thing in common. Outsiders discovered the problems. In the new matter of Volkswagen rigging millions of cars to outsmart emissions tests, researchers at West Virginia University and the International Council on Clean Transportation first spotted irregularities. In the hacking of a Jeep Cherokee, it was independent cyber-security researchers Chris Valasek and Charlie Miller who found and reported cellular vulnerabilities that allowed them to control a car from halfway across the country. And lest we forget in the case of General Motors, it was a Mississippi mechanic and Florida engineer who first made connections between non-deploying airbags and faulty GM ignition switches that had been altered over time. They worked on behalf of Brooke Melton, a 29-year-old Georgia woman killed in a Chevy Cobalt. "That argument is built on a whole string of trusts, and now it is clear that we should absolutely not be trusting." - Kyle Wiens Amid the Volkswagen scandal, the role these independent third parties played in unearthing life-threatening problems is important to highlight, not only because it shines a light on the ethical indifference corporations paid to life-and-death problems of their creation. The role of the independents is noteworthy because, just as their contributions never been more relevant in protecting the driving public, they could soon be barred from the automotive landscape. Since May, a little-known but critically important process has been playing out before an office within the Library of Congress, which will soon decide whether independent researchers and mechanics can continue to access vehicle software or whether that software, which runs dozens of vehicle components, is protected by copyright law. The Digital Millennium Copyright Act criminalizes measures taken to circumvent security devices that protect copyrighted works. When the DMCA was signed into law in 1998, it was intended to protect the likes of movies from being pirated and companies from ripping off software. At the time, few had a clue that some 17 years later cars would essentially be mobile software platforms run by millions of lines of code that potentially fall under the law's jurisdiction.
