2007 Volkswagen Eos 2.0t Convertible 2-door 2.0l on 2040-cars
Dayton, Ohio, United States
This is a 2007 VW EOS. It has the 2 liter turbo charged engine with 6 speed manual transmission. It has run flawlessly for me for the past 2 years. This was my summer car and I do not drive it enough to justify keeping it. I have driven it less than 4000 miles in the past 2 years. I only drive it in on nice dry days in Ohio.
I believe it to have almost every option available. It has power windows, power seats (both sides), power locks, stereo, and heated seats. I put new Michelin tires on it 2 years ago. The outside is dark metallic blue, with a cream leather interior. It is very nice inside and out. Original paint. Never been in any accident. The ABS light stays on the dash board. Other than that, I do not think the car has any issues. I am an Ohio car dealer, and as such must collect sales tax if it applies to you. I will pay for any title work in Ohio. You are responsible for title expenses in any other state you live. I am requiring a $200. deposit within 24 hours. If not received, I will offer the car to the next bidder. Final payment required in 7 days. Please do not bid if you are not planning to pay for the car. You can drive this car home, or I can assist in arranging transportation for you. transportation costs are not included in the auction. I will store the car indoors for up to 30 days giving you time to arrange transportation. |

Volkswagen offers Beetle Classic, priced from $20,195*
Tue, 23 Sep 2014The current Volkswagen Beetle already tries to be a fairly retro-looking ride by cribbing styling elements from the iconic original. However, for the new, limited-edition Classic model, VW is hopping into the time machine to grab even more vintage cues. The company is even cutting the price, perhaps in hopes of turning around flagging sales this year. You don't need to wait long for any of these upgrades either because the automaker says that the Classic goes on sale this week for $20,195, *excluding the $820 destination charge. That's $100 less than a bone-stock Beetle.
Starting as a standard Beetle with VW's 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 170 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque, the Classic edition comes with a six-speed automatic and then adds some retro flair. It includes new vintage-look 17-inch wheels with simulated dog dish polished hubcaps over black spokes. It also comes with a rear spoiler, and the automaker is offering the model in Pure White, Black Uni, and Reflex Silver.
The interior mixes in a few more classic touches but includes modern amenities like a standard navigation system, satellite radio and multifunction steering wheel. However, the seats are finished in a two-tone design combining light brown leatherette on the sides and checked cloth centers, plus lumbar support for the driver's side. The shift knob and handbrake also get wrapped in leather.
TN politicians may push to end VW incentives if plant goes union
Tue, 11 Feb 2014Volkswagen's Chattanooga Assembly Plant is scheduled to vote on whether to unionize in the coming days, but Tennessee state lawmakers are threatening to deny future tax subsidies to the factory, if the vote is successful. The factory is currently the only Volkswagen plant worldwide that is not unionized.
The states's Republican lawmakers have been particularly vocal against the union vote. Tennessee state senator Bo Watson said during a press conference that VW would have a "very tough time" with future incentives if the vote were successful, according to Automotive News. Tennessee House Majority Leader Gerald McCormick said the "heavy hand" of the UAW is not welcome there. VW has drawn criticism from both sides because it has allowed both pro- and anti-union groups to speak to workers and hand out leaflets.
Roughly 1,500 factory employees will vote on whether to unionize from February 12-14. If successful, the Chattanooga factory would be the first in the US organized under a German-style works council system where white- and blue-collar workers directly negotiate factory issues with the company's management.
Volkswagen drops "GTi" lawsuit against Suzuki
Tue, 02 Oct 2012Way back in 2004, Volkswagen took umbrage with Suzuki being granted permission to use the nameplate "SWIFT GTi" for a performance variant of its small-car offering (2012 equivalent seen here). Now, eight years and surely some very steep legal bills later, VW has finally dropped its claim against Suzuki.
The General Court of the European Union stated, back in March of this year, that Suzuki's GTi registration could not be confused with VW's "Golf GTI." Volkswagen had appealed that ruling, though has now reportedly called off the dogs. In fact, Germany's Die Welt reports that the appeal has been dead for several weeks now.
This news comes amongst continued arbitration acrimony between the two automakers, all revolving around VW's forced divestiture of nearly 20-percent stake it purchased in Suzuki some two years ago.
