I will ,if this sells for right price reimburse the buyer for a plane ticket out here to pick this up. A new windsheild and washer blades, installed upon receipt of the 2000.00 deposit (it does have some chips).  Te price of replacement can be deducted-allowing you to get warranty on windshield. Living Socila and Groupon do these all the time. This van will be fully detailed inside and out and ready to drive after i sign the title over to you.  It will be winterized as we are in Colorado and it is way too cold for water in the sink/shower system.

You will get all receipts and the PORTFOLIO from www.subbagon.com

Ok, that's about it....email me questions and I suggest using ebay foor both of our safety. Thank you...Bob

This is it, a Westfalia that will climb hills effortlessly and 4 wheel off road. Conversion and restoration accomplished the Baker Brothers at WWW.Subagon.com Subaru SVX Motor Conversion (imported from Japan). This link http://subagon.com/best/bobs-1990-syncro-westy-svx/ features my 1990 AWD Syncro on their website.

I was riding my motorcycle, and a driver ran a stop sign and T-Boned me, I have had, 3 foot operations, 2 knee operations, and 4 back fusions, so I find myself unable to camp out as I used to. Because of this I am being forced to sell my “Syncro”.

Mr. Joe Baker at www.subagon.com can tell you about this and verify the value of this Westy is more than the price I am asking.  You can have them build one, and wait, and getting Syncro AWD 4WD is going to take a while or be very costly if you are in a hurry. They were extremely limited in production, and very few imported into USA. Canada and Mexico have some. Importing and paperwork is a hassle. Here are the facts about this Syncro. Conversion costs around $25k if you can broker a good deal. No wimpy gutless, sluggish powerless van. This will climb mountains with ease. Call or text Mr. Joe Baker at 9530 227-2610) or email him at joeb@joebaker.net . He was the contact at Subagon.com that brokered this contract for me.  His brother is not aware I am selling this so Joe will be your best contact for info. He is also on the road a lot lately so be patient on text/email replies.

This unit has its own external outlets as well, and this is also backed up by a “trickle charger” to use when parked or stored to insure everything is hot/fully charged. The Lighting, and interior electrical outlets power surge 2 outlets 1 multiple, 2 large 12v fluorescents replace the original 12v dome style lights that would kill battery. This will get 10-18 MPG depending on your driving habits, speed etc. Get incredibly great mileage if you hold it to 65 MPH. I have the original SUBAGON portfolio, original paperwork, reciepts for all post work and service. 4 new axles, CV joints. You can add a AWD decoupling kit (temporarily disengages AWD to 2 WD),  that will really increase your mileage, but I have been in the hospital too much and recuperating unable to get out and do anything. The conversion can be done for about $3k with warranty and can increase gas mileage dramatically. VW dealers work on this Van and love it. Older parts are available via http://www.van-cafe.com/ and they can get any part the VW dealer may not have. Friendly staff and quick shipping.  This is currently fully titled (full and clear) in Colorado, currently registered, insured and working, stored in my garage for winter. It has been winterized, but will pump winterized fluids with ease for testing. It will work but will be pumping wintterized fluid-not drinkable water so it would need de-winterizing in a warm local.  This is painstaking cared for and parked in my garaage at all times, except when in use. No hail damage or other stuff like that...and Colorado gets hail!

This is powered by a 3.3 liter SUBRAU SVX 240 HP engine (same kind as used in the sports car and ultralight aircraft). Full conversion to Subaru SVX 3.3 liter pancake engine By Subagon.com. Power plus Speed, Subaru Computer controlled. These conversions can be done for $30 to $50k if you find the right place and work a deal, around $30K if you do it yourself and have a working knowledge of conversions and the computers that run the engine.  I have put about 9,0000 miles on this since the conversion, fixed some minor things like a new power steering pump, the A/C thermo-resistor replaced. There are some minor chips in the windshield. I will have this replaced upon non-refundable deposit $5k for contracted sale, or give you an allowance to replace we agree upon at final payment. The fuel gauge sometimes does not work (suspect bad sender), and I will also give you an allowance to fix this we agree upon. The plastic plate on the exterior Electrical cover disappeared (I suspect the spring broke and pin slipped out.) I will replace or give you the cost of the part and shipping allowance for this as well from Van Cafe. Nothing hidden or covered up, you are getting all the info. I have attempted to include everything here but, may have forgotten some items.

ABOUT THE SVX CONVERSION: The conversion to the SVX engine and computer, mechanics, wiring, was contracted with SUBAGON.com in Redding California. Van was torn down, painted and restored with original parts, excluding the SVX upgrade and some minor items. The Subaru SVX computer was wired in and all wiring done to fully utilize all original VW functions.

IMPORTANT ITEM IS when licensing and registering, THIS IS Still considered a regular car/van so insurance is cheap, and your Homeowners association can’t stop you from parking at your place as it will register as a regular car/van. Not considered a conversion Van (Class B). This is a really nice plus if you have an HOA, and I do and was not permitted to park an RV at my place. My costs for insurance, license, registration and plates cheap (will show you receipts). The canvas in the pop top is all new and works fine with no leaks. PopTop Has extra opening for a window type view with mosquito netting in the canvass so sleepers in top can see out. All poptop arms, mechanism new. Wired for 110v, external water, external LPG. Inverter powered off gas mat deep cycle battery, so that all your 12v appliances and lights work on the battery and/or the inverter supplying power in both 12v/110v. Switch behind seat to enable switching from external 110v to internal. Solar panel charges this entire system when parked. Add up the costs for all this and you will see my price is for a quick sale, and beats others at Go Westy and other places. Go to SUBAGON, do your build list price then add the VW…. You will find that Mine has additional options and will cost a lot more than the $62K price tag, even w/o the SVX engine.  If you wanta wasserbox go to Gowesty.com  they have a wasserbox Syncro listed for $75k right now (not kidding).

SALE: funds in cash or a certified cashier’s check, postal money order(s) if agreed upon. I require you wait until it clears through my bank (sorry). So a cash sale is better for both of us-cheaper too since paypal will take a cut!  I will accept funds transferred to an accounts, and that my bank verifies. Must wait until my bank verifies, and that funds transferred are legitimate and not part of a fraud/theft. Sorry, but this is for everyone’s protection.

Contact me via ebay, if you do not, and use this email 1990syncro@q.com,  I insist you provide me with your email that includes your full name (first & last), verifiable US postal address, verifiable phone number will be responded to. EBAY veriifiction a must. This way if you are a verified ebay bidder, I can work with you.

I will not give out my phone # until I verify your info is not that of a scammer. (Again, I need to weed out scammers, sorry for the process).

I have changed the listing to an auction with a reserve. Don't ask me what the reserve is. Ridiculous offers and emails will not be responded to.

Thank you for looking, I will answer questions within a day if at all possible.

Final Volkswagen Eos to leave the plant in May

Tue, Feb 24 2015

Volkswagen has made no secret of its plans to wind down production of the Eos hardtop convertible, and the automaker has already celebrated the model's retirement in the US with the Final Edition (pictured above). However, the company now has an actual time for that end to come. The final Eos rolls off the line from the VW factory in Portugal in May, according to Germany's Automobilwoche, and European customers have until March 27 to get any final orders in. The company has no plans to offer a successor, it previously indicated. After about nine years of production and some 230,000 made, the Eos proved to be a success, at least in its home market of Germany. A VW spokesperson told Automobilwoche it was the country's bestselling hardtop convertible at one point, but customer preferences have changed toward preferring soft-top models. That switch spelled doom for the Eos. Drivers who want some wind in their hair still have some choices in the VW lineup. The Beetle Convertible remains on sale in the US, and Europeans also get the droptop Golf. VW to unveil diesel-electric Twin-Up! in Tokyo

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

We've received multiple reports that Volkswagen will be bringing a diesel-electric concept to the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, set to take place later this month. The car, called the Twin-Up!, is based on the Up! city car, with some sources claiming this is a thinly veiled concept that will eventually enter production.
According to Automotive News Europe, the Twin-Up! will reportedly return 214 miles per gallon on the US cycle by combining an 800-cc, two-cylinder diesel and an electric motor. It will also boast plug-in capabilities, and will be able to cover 30 miles on electric power alone.
Autocar has a more complete picture of the Twin-Up!'s powertrain, though, claiming it's a modified version of the hybrid system found in the Volkswagen XL1. The Twin-Up! will get a more potent, 47-horsepower electric motor to the XL1's 27-hp unit, but will retain that car's 47-hp turbodiesel. The battery pack will also grow, from 5.5 kilowatt hours to 8.6 kWh. Both of these increases are necessary due to the increased weight of the Twin-Up! - it's some 900 pounds heavier than an XL1.

Cruze Diesel Road Trip reveals the good and bad, but no ugly

Tue, Mar 31 2015

Most of us have strong opinions on diesel-powered cars based on our perceptions of and experience with them. I used to thoroughly dislike oil burners for their noise, smoke and lackluster performance, and the fact that they ran on greasy, smelly stuff that was more expensive than gasoline, could be hard to find and was nasty to get on your hands when refueling. Those negatives, for me, trumped diesel's major positives of big torque for strong acceleration and better fuel economy. Are any of those knocks on diesel still valid today? I'm not talking semis, which continue to annoy me when their operators for some reason almost never shut them down. At any busy truck stop, the air seems always filled with the sound – and sometimes smell – of dozens of big-rig diesels idling endlessly and mindlessly. Or diesel heavy-duty pickups. Those muscular workhorses are far more refined than they once were and burn much less fuel than their gasoline counterparts. But good luck arriving home late at night, or departing early morning, without waking your housemates and neighbors with their clattery racket. No, I'm talking diesel-powered passenger cars, which account for more than half the market in Europe (diesel fuel is cheaper there) yet still barely bump the sales charts in North America. Diesel fuel remains more expensive here, too few stations carry it, and too many Americans remember when diesel cars were noisy, smelly slugs. Also, US emissions requirements make them substantially more expensive to certify, and therefore to buy. But put aside (if you can) higher vehicle purchase and fuel prices, and today's diesel cars can be delightful to drive while delivering much better fuel efficiency than gas-powered versions. So far in the US, all except Chevrolet's compact Cruze Diesel come from German brands, and all are amazingly quiet, visually clean (no smoke) and can be torquey-fun to drive. When a GM Powertrain engineering team set out to modify a tried-and-true GM of Europe turbodiesel four for North American Chevy Cruze compacts, says assistant chief engineer Mike Siegrist, it had a clear target in mind: the Volkswagen Jetta TDI 2.0-liter diesel. And they'll tell you that they beat it in nearly every way. "I believe we have a superior product," he says. "It's powerful, efficient and clean, and it will change perceptions of what a diesel car can be." The 2.0L Cruze turbodiesel pumps out 151 SAE certified horses and 264 pound-feet of torque (at just 2,000 rpm) vs.
