1978 Volkswagen 9 passenger factory sunroof bus Barnfind. Sitting for a few years in a garage / barn.

It now has a new complete 4 1/2 narrowed beam with adjustable suspension and rear boomerang plates, this was just installed parts and labor over $2k of suspension work. Engine will run but has vacuum leaks etc. will need wakeup work. Will not pass smog in California and being sold not running, missing the 60% of the front seat.

Restored they go for alot of $$$$ and this bus

These Volkswagen Sunroof Transporters are becoming hard to find. I recently got it running and it sounded good but it will need fresh gas tuning, vacuum lines etc, saftey inspections etc prior to being driven so IT BEING SOLD AS IS NON OPERATIONAL. Will need a brake job from sitting. The interior is complete less the passenger 2/3 and the body is decent and I've seen worse. Floors have surface rust but no major holes that I can see. The passenger rear taillight has a rust hole and needs a battery tray.

If you have been in the market for a vw window bus, then you know it's RARE to find a sunroof bus. the sunroof works but needs cables etc. body is decent except drivers side center needs some attention and the rear passenger corner and battery area.

It has a nice complete brown interior with all its seats except the front passenger seat. I know a guy that has one if desired. This an excellent investment as there going to continue to SKYROCKET in value!

Please remember this is not a restored bus; it has some dings, rust, scratches, and minor paint touchups which is common for being over 35 years old.

Look around and you will see there are few to none availiable in the marketplace for the price of this one. I have a CLEAR title in hand as it was purchased from an estate sale.

World wide shipping is available. Look forward to assisting the new buyers in a smooth transaction. We can assist with overseas buyers.

VW makes $9.2B offer for rest of truckmaker Scania

Sun, 23 Feb 2014

Volkswagen owns or has controlling interests in three commercial truck operations: besides its own, VW began buying shares in Sweden's Scania in 2000 and now controls 89.2 percent of its shares and 62.6 percent of its capital, then bought into Germany's Man in 2006 - in order to prevent Man from trying to take over Scania - and now owns 75 percent of it. The car company has managed to work out 200 million euros in savings, but believes it can unlock a total of 650 million euros in savings if it takes outright control of Scania and can spread more common parts among the three divisions.
It has proposed a 6.7-billion-euro ($9.2 billion) buyout, but according to a Bloomberg report, Scania's minority investors don't appear inclined to the deal. Although effectively controlled by VW, Scania is an independently-listed Swedish company, and a profitable one at that: in the January-September 2013 period its operating profit was 9.4 percent compared to Man's 0.4 percent. Some of the other shareholders believe that Scania is better off on its own and will not approve the deal, some have asked an auditor to look into the potential conflict of interest between VW and Man, while some are willing to examine the deal and "make an evaluation based on what a long-term owner finds is good," which might not be just "the stock market price plus a few percent." The buyout will only be official assuming VW can reach the 90-percent share threshold that Swedish law mandates for a squeeze-out.
Many of the arguments against boil down to investors believing that Scania's Swedishness and unique offerings are what keep it profitable, and ownership by the German car company will kill that. (Have we heard that somewhere before?) If Volkswagen can buy that additional 0.8-percent share in Scania, perhaps its buyout wrangling with Man will give it an idea of what it's in for: "dozens" of minority investors in the German truckmaker have filed cases against VW, seeking higher prices for their shares. It is likely only to delay the inevitable, though. If VW is really going to compete with Daimler and Volvo in the truck market, it has to get the size, clout and savings to do so.

VW recalling 2.64M vehicles worldwide over engine, light issues

Thu, 14 Nov 2013

Volkswagen is staging a massive, worldwide recall that's already grown from 1.68 million to 2.64 million vehicles and covers three different issues across a number of vehicles. We already reported on 61,000 Tiguans getting recalled over lighting issues - that was just in the US. Globally, however, VW will be recalling 800,000 Tiguans, according to Automotive News, with the focus on CUVs built between 2008 and 2011. The issue with the Tiguan relates to a simple fuse swap, so this is rather unremarkable, aside from the sheer number of vehicles being fixed. The real, troubling issues relate to gearboxes and pickups.
239,000 Amarok pickups (pictured right) are being recalled over fuel leaks, while 1.6 million vehicles are being recalled to swap the synthetic oil in dual-clutch transmissions with mineral oil. Now, the transmission issue is one for the global Volkswagen Group to address, not just the VW brand - vehicles from Audi, Škoda and Seat use the same seven-speed DSG and are covered under the recall, as well.
Why the switch from synthetic to mineral oil? Apparently, using the synthetic oil in a DSG and then subjecting it to stop-and-go conditions or heavy loads in a hot and humid climate can lead to electronic malfunctions, according to a Volkswagen press release. The switch, from the sounds of it, is largely a preventative measure.
