1969 VW Bus Deluxe 8 passenger. I bought this van from the same owner since the early 70's. Documented two owner bus. The OG key fits all locks and ignition, (one key fits all locks). Only 119,000 original miles. The previous owner was a well known VW mechanic from the NW. Numbers matching motor and transmission. Nice headliner and seats. Newer front seat upholstery. The OG motor was rebuilt and updated with dual port heads. New brakes, soft lines, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, shoes all the way around. All new fuel lines, rebuilt carb, new clutch ect. The van still has it's Original Washington plates and clear 1970's title. OG radio. Rare Z bed, I have never seen this option in a deluxe before. The rear seat folds down into a full bed. Only one repaint done in the 90's to its factory original paint code. Beautiful patina. I had my body shop polish out the paint to a amazing finish, Some what rare factory red color. Very dry bus with only minor rust.

Engine- Rebuilt 1600cc with less than 200 miles. Numbers matching, we decided to upgrade to dual port heads for more power. New rods, cam, lifters, main and cam bearings, push rod tubes, heavy duty oil pump, clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, oil pressure sensor, valves, 87mm pistons, rebuilt carb, all new fuel and vac lines. The case was line bored, all tins were sand blasted and repainted. Empi header exhaust with new heater boxes. (The heater works great). (The motor was rebuilt by a local VW master mechanic). I have all receipts and paper work for all work listed

Paint/Body- Some what rare factory red. One repaint done in the early 90's. I had the paint professionally polished. The patina on this bus is awesome. Arrow strait body. No signs of ever being in a wreck. Rockers, cargo floor, front floor, dog legs, ect solid. Newer front window gasket.

Interior- The front seats have been recently reupholstered, nice middle and rear seat in excellent condition. Original headliner is in excellent condition, with no rips. Original radio that still has factory warranty card attached as seen in the pictures. The factory Z bed cushion is in good condition. The interior is mostly original and in excellent condition for its age.

Brakes- All new brake system. New master cylinder, shoes and wheel cylinders front and rear, all drums were turned (machined). New soft lines front and rear. I have receipts for all brake work as well.

Other- Newer Hancook tires, brand new spare tire, original manuals and books, the gas gauge works periodically, it will need to be replaced at some point. The new brakes will need to be readjusted after a few hundred miles.

A very nice, dry and original 1969 Deluxe. I like the factory z bed, gives you the best of both worlds, a 8 passenger bus and a camper all in one. Mechanically this van has been mostly gone through. Perfect daily driver.

**** I can have this bus shipped to your front door at whole sale cost

VW V-Charge is clever automated EV parking, charging tech

Mon, Jul 20 2015

Automated parking is another niche that Volkswagen wants to rule, so the German carmaker has teamed up with five technology partners to develop its V-Charge system. In short, V-Charge allows an owner to use a smartphone app to send his car to find a parking space and return when requested. If it's an electric car, it will search for an open inductive charging spot, and when fully charged it won't squat over the charger, but will move to find a conventional parking spot. Valet Charge uses four wide-angle cameras, three stereo cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and car-to-infrastructure protocols to avoid obstacles as it finds its way around, including areas like parking garages where GPS won't work. VW says it's been careful to use off-the-shelf sensors and technologies that are already installed in current cars, since it has an eye on near-term implementation of V-Charge. It's impossible to know what "near-term" means, but the sooner we can avoid the valet and trust our car to fetch a spot and come back to us like a faithful pet, the better. The video above shows it at work, the press release below has all the details. 'V-Charge': Volkswagen pushes development of automated parking and charging of electric vehicles - Parking spaces driven to fully automatically - Electric vehicles charged automatically - V-Charge places only minor demands on car park infrastructure - Intelligent form of valet parking Volkswagen aspires to holding the leading position in the field of automated parking. A look into the near future of automated parking is given by 'V-Charge', an EU research project, in which six national and international partners are jointly developing new technologies. Its focus is on automating the search for a parking space and on the charging of electric vehicles. The best part about it is that the vehicle not only automatically looks for an empty parking space, but that it finds an empty space with charging infrastructure and inductively charges its battery. Once the charging process is finished, it automatically frees up the charging bay for another electric vehicle and looks for a conventional parking space. 'V-Charge' stands for Valet Charge and is pointing the way to the future of automated parking. Wolfsburg, 14 July 2015 - In the USA especially, convenient valet parking is a big hit: you pull up in your car right outside your destination, valet service personnel park it for you and have it brought around again as and when you need it.

VW planning 20 new plug-in models for China

Thu, Oct 30 2014

With just about everything getting super-sized for China, Volkswagen is following suit with its plug-in vehicle plans for the world's most populous country. VW, Europe's largest carmaker, is looking to sell more than 20 different plug-in models in China within the next four years, Reuters says, citing comments Volkswagen Group China head Jochem Heizmann made in Shanghai. The company is hoping that translates to sales of more than 100,000 plug-ins in China by the end of the decade. Go big or go home, right? There's a huge plug-in vehicle opportunity in China, especially given the bad pollution situation in cities like Beijing and Shanghai and the Chinese government's incentives for plug-in vehicle buyers. Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn said at the Beijing Motor Show this spring that the company would spend $25 billion on at least a half-dozen plug-in models for China by 2018. VW will start selling the e-Golf in China this year and the Golf GTE plug-in hybrid in 2015. VW said in August that it would start selling the e-Golf in the US for about $35,500 in November. That's a $6,500 price hike from the base Nissan Leaf.

Volkswagen tipped to launch turbocharged Up! with 100 hp

Tue, Jan 6 2015

Overseas customers enticed by the compact dimensions of the Volkswagen Up! but turned off by its diminutive 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine may be encouraged by reports that the German automaker is planning a more potent turbo version. Previewed by the GT Up! concept showcased at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show (pictured above), the more performance-oriented model is expected to pack the turbo three from the larger Polo, where it produces 100 horsepower channeled through a five-speed manual transmission. That may not seem like much, but it would put the existing 59- and 74-horsepower versions of the German city car to shame. That might not give it enough punch to keep pace with the upcoming Smart Fortwo Brabus (and its Renaultsport Twingo counterpart), tipped to pack as much as 130 hp, but it could stand to out-perform the existing 89-hp turbo models of both. Given that the reports are emanating from Brazil, however, it is possible that the Up! Turbo (or whatever it's ultimately called) would be limited to the South American market, if it's built at all. One thing's for sure, though: it's not likely to make it to North American showrooms anytime soon.
