1965 VW Barn Find Easy Camper Walk Thru Fly in and drive it HOME!!! I found this 1965 camper and 2 others [1964 camper and a 1963 camper] in a barn in Iowa about a year ago. I finally made a deal on them. This one has been parked since 1997. It has a strong running 1600 single port engine with an after market oil filter and cooler, chrome 009 distributor and Kadron exhaust. The engine sounds and runs great. It idles fine, transaxle shifts smooth. We put on a new master cylinder and the "e" brake works. I believe this was the guys daily driver. I do not have the title for it yet. I have to make a trip back to Iowa to get the title. Lights, turn signals and wipers all work. Radio does not. It has a deluxe ash tray and horn button and the front bumper has the small holes where the deluxe trim was removed. I put a set of new tires on it and it comes with some new rubber seals. There is an awning with it also. The rockers and front floors are fine as shown in the picture. I would do the body work and paint on it, but I have a 1967 walk thru pop-top Westy I am putting together and a 1956 double door panel that we are restoring now, plus another 1967 walk thru pop-top with a rebuilt engine. I also have several others we are working on or will be. Call Arnold at 719-738-6442 with questions or requests for more pictures. Buyer is responsible for shipping and depending upon the location of the buyer, I may be able to arrange the transport of the vehicle. PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU DO NOT INTEND TO BUY!! If you have any questions., please email or contact "Arnold" at 719-738-6442. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!! Buyer to contact Seller within 24 hours of auction close. A down payment of 20% to be certified funds, wire transfer, money order, Paypal bank funds (not credit card), or a Wells Fargo direct deposit within 3 days of buyer notification and the remainder with 5 days. Delivery may be available and negotiable. I state again - DO NOT BID, IF YOU DON'T INTEND TO BUY -!! Please see description for vehicle condition. The vehicle is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early should it sell. If you do not have at least 10 positive feedbacks and have any negative feedbacks, contact me BEFORE bidding. I will not accept any bids unless you call. My phone number is listed in the auction for that purpose. I HAVE HAD TOO MANY NON PAYING BIDDERS!!

Least satisfying vehicle rankings seek to highlight the worst cars of the year
Sun, Feb 5 2023Consumer Reports polls its members on all sorts of topics related to how they buy and use products ranging from mobile phones to humidifiers for indoor plants. Cars are regularly one of CR’s most interesting topics, and its recent study on the least satisfying vehicles to own offers insights into the cars people wish they hadnÂ’t purchased. CR polled thousands of members with questions about what they liked and disliked about the vehicle theyÂ’d owned for a few years. When asked if they would definitely repurchase the same car, the following vehicles came back as the least likely to be purchased a second time: Kia Forte: 51% would buy again Nissan Altima: 51% would buy again Nissan Kicks: 49% would buy again Volkswagen Taos: 48% would buy again Kia Seltos: 48% would buy again Jeep Compass: 46% would buy again Mercedes-Benz GLA: 45% would buy again Infiniti QX50: 40% would buy again Mercedes-Benz GLB: 39% would buy again Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport: 38% would buy again When Autoblog tested the VW Atlas Cross Sport in March 2022, we liked the styling and the price was right, but it lagged rivals in driving excitement and interior quality. A number of recalls donÂ’t help the Cross SportÂ’s cause much, either, as some models have more than a dozen actions by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Even the 2023 model already has four recalls. The annoyance of recalls and the hassle of just-average reliability ratings could have played into the Cross SportÂ’s place as the least satisfying vehicle. On the other end of the spectrum, the Chevrolet Corvette earned the top spot as CR's most satisfying car. The Porsche 911, Rivian R1T, Ford Maverick Hybrid, and Hyundai Ioniq 5 round out the top-five most satisfying vehicles to own. Given the rabid following the 911 has built over the years and the insane performance Chevy derived from the latest Corvette, itÂ’s not surprising to see them in the top spots. Recharge Wrap-up: Smart Fortwo engine fires, Tesla finalist for Extole Advocacy and Customer Experience award
Thu, Dec 22 2016NHTSA has launched a preliminary investigation into complaints of Smart Fortwo engine fires. So far, the agency has received eight complaints about the rear engine compartment catching fire in model year 2008 and 2009 Fortwos and quickly engulfing the car. Six of the fires occurred while driving and were preceded by a check engine light. "The safety of our customers is our primary concern, and we are cooperating with NHTSA in its inquiry," says parent company Mercedes-Benz. "We are not aware of any injuries related to this inquiry." Read more from Automotive News. Volkswagen will pay $1.6 billion (US) in Canada as part of a settlement of its diesel emissions scandal. The funds will be used to fix or buy back some 105,000 affected cars, compensate owners between $3,815 and $4,451 above the buyback price, and pay a $11.2 million civil fine. So far, VW has agreed to spend over $18 billion in North America in connection with its diesel emissions cheating, and is expected to settle on a resolution of its 3.0-liter diesel vehicles in the US soon. The award recognizes companies that turn customers into brand advocates through referral programs. In Tesla's current program, customers who buy a car using a referral link get $1,000 off the price of their car, while referring owners are awarded prizes including a signed Powerwall 2 and invitations to unveiling events. Referring owners are also entered into a drawing to win a Model S or Model X. "With a disdain for paid advertising, Tesla Motors is leading the trend of reaching new customers through existing ones," says Extole. The other finalists are Hanna Andersson and Ulta Beauty. Volkswagen's De Silva says next Scirocco will be 'completely different'
Tue, 02 Apr 2013From our perspective, the reborn Volkswagen Scirocco is a handsome (if squat) little thing. Yet design-wise, it's always struck us as uncomfortably close to the Golf three-door hatchback with which it shares its basic underpinnings. That aesthetic kinship may be part of the reason why Volkswagen has steadfastly refused to import the Scirocco to North America, seeing as how the Golf doesn't regularly set the company's sales charts alight, and it's less expensive.
But that visual similarity might be about to change, says Walter De Silva, who recently told Australia's Car Advice that, "It must be completely different... we don't want to repeat the bodystyle of the Scirocco, we want to change that." Further, the Volkswagen Group's design boss says that the next-generation car isn't terribly far along in development yet - "at the moment, it's only a studio [project]... it's not defined." It's probably just as well, as the new seventh-generation Golf arguably borrows some of its design from the current Scirocco anyway.
So we should expect a much bolder, more differentiated design, right? Well, yes, no and maybe. Back in September, De Silva himself was quoted as saying that the era of flamboyant styling has passed, and that future VW designs will be simpler to better reflect the times and preserve resale value. So... how different could it be?
