1960 Volkswagen Bus Single Cab. Very Solid, Straight, And Rust Free. on 2040-cars
Henderson, Nevada, United States
I have an awesome 1960 survivor single cab. This was recently purchased from the second owner who had it since 1965! Always in the high desert so virtuality rust free. Even the battery tray is not rusted. Hard to find a bus this nice. It's been resprayed once from what I was told. The owner did a complete restoration on it like a decade ago and just let it sit ever since. Motor runs smoothe, tranny shifts nice, and brakes feel like new. New wiring harness and rubber throughout. Interior was refurbished with black vinyl seat and door/kick panels and new rubber mat. The cardboard panels above are sagging slightly but were new. The body is unbelievable. If you look underneath its as rust free and straight as they come. Looks to me like all original metal underneath and nothing needs replacing. The gates are beautiful and bed has been used and has dents and dings but not bad. Drives nice and turns heads. You can pay less for one but will pay alot more in the long run. Has new shocks and battery. Needs new tires. They hold air and I have driven around on them, but they need replacing from dry rot.
The drivers side rear bottom corner was replaced when restored, but done right. The rear apron should probably be replaced. There is a little wrinkling on the left engine compartment metal (see in photos). And there is one spot of isolated rust right under the driver door behind the wheel well.(in photos) This is a very common area for busses and just needs a small patch or leave it as is. The metal behind it is completely solid. |

Volkswagen Touareg hybrid axed for 2016
Fri, Aug 7 2015Volkswagen is axing the Touareg hybrid for the 2016 model year. At a starting price of $67,905 (after $910 destination), the 2015 version sat at the top of the Touareg range, but it didn't offer significantly improved fuel economy for the extra money. The hybrid was only three miles per gallon city and one mpg highway better than the base V6. Another hurdle for potential buyers: the entry-level diesel had even better highway mileage and cost over $14,000 less. Earlier this year, Nissan made a similar decision to scrap the Pathfinder hybrid, and the future for the QX60 hybrid is murky. Volkswagen has a few other adjustments in store for the 2016 Touareg. The biggest change is that the whole lineup sees about $2,000 sliced off the price. According to Car and Driver, the adjustment knocks $2,090 off the base price to bring things to $42,705. In addition, the Lux and Executive trims now get standard 14-way power adjustable and ventilated seats, and the two of them are also offered with new, 21-inch wheels. The Executive also now gets power adjustment on the steering column and a suite of safety tech, including adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, and lane departure warning. Volkswagen sketches Geneva-bound concept
Wed, Feb 25 2015Volkswagen has released a pair of sketches that give us our first official glimpse at the company's new concept car, set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show next week. Details are slim – the car doesn't even have a name yet – but we do have some facts about VW's swoopy new showcar. First off, it's a sedan – well, "four-door coupe" – but is said to have a hatchback configuration. Autoblog has also learned that the car will be powered by a hybrid powertrain, using a TSI gasoline engine paired with two electric motors, and uses an all-wheel-drive configuration that's likely similar to that in the recently unveiled Cross Coupe GTE concept. Volkswagen says this showcar uses a new, progressive design language for the brand. And while it sort of looks like a dead ringer for a new CC, we're told this concept is positioned above that model. For now, that's all we know, but we expect a host of other details to be released closer to the car's official debut in Geneva next week. Stay tuned. Hyundai offers discounts to owners done with dirty VW diesels
Sat, Oct 29 2016For Volkswagen owners that aren't satisfied with getting a payout from the company to make up for dirty emissions, and need to rid themselves of their polluting machines, Hyundai may have a solution. The South Korean automaker is now offering Friends and Family Pricing Plus on new Hyundais for owners of 2.0-liter diesel Volkswagens. A Hyundai spokesperson said it's "an alternative to potentially orphaned diesel owners that will be entering the market for a new vehicle." This discounted pricing plan, as listed by a dealer in Tampa, Florida, starts with the gross dealer invoice price, which includes destination and advertising fees. From there, the buyer gets $1,250 off the purchase price, as well as 3-percent off of the MSRP, excluding destination charges. Also, any current Hyundai incentives can be added to the Friends and Family Pricing discounts. A list of the eligible VW models is below: 2013-2015 Beetle and Beetle convertible 2010-2013 Golf 3-door hatchback 2010-2015 Golf 5-door hatchback 2015 Golf SportWagen 2009-2015 Jetta 2009-2014 Jetta SportWagen 2012-2015 VW Passat 2010-2013, 2015 Audi A3 These incentives certainly make the prospect of a new Hyundai rather attractive, especially for VW owners with that sweet settlement money burning a hole through their wallets. The question is, will owners of these cars find any current Hyundais they like as much as their VWs? Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
