Harley Davidson Motorcycle With A 1776 Vw Engine on 2040-cars
Talking Rock, Georgia, United States
|
I got his as a trade deal. The previous owner says it is a 73 Harley Davidson. The 1776 engine has been rebuilt. It has a vw transaxle with a shifter for 2 speeds. I was told the bike has been sitting for close to a year. He has rode the bike and said its very fast. I rode the bike about twenty feet and decided that was enough. The clutch is by the left foot peg, I have a new clutch handle ass. to relocate it back to the handle bars. Has rear brakes that need attention. The brake handle is by the throttle and will stop if you pump them a few times. The battery is weak, but I can jump it in order to crank it. The motor sounds awsome. Cranks right up. Has dual carbs. It does have an oil leak by one of the valve covers and one under the bike.I don't know much about the bike other than what I was told. Sounds great, looks good. It does have some chips in the paint, the worse one on the gas tank. Headlight and taillight work as well as brake light. Tires look good as does most of the chrome. There is a video from back in the day on youtube under vw motorcycle circle yer wagen with it running. I have the last registered tag receipt from Al. and previous bill of sale. Its an AE motor ***********Bike is for sale locally so I resrve the right to end auction early************* On Jan-30-14 at 14:27:16 PST, seller added the following information: After looking at the shift linkage, looks like you push down on a pad and that allows you to pick up 1st and 2nd, |

Volkswagen sketches Geneva-bound concept
Wed, Feb 25 2015Volkswagen has released a pair of sketches that give us our first official glimpse at the company's new concept car, set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show next week. Details are slim – the car doesn't even have a name yet – but we do have some facts about VW's swoopy new showcar. First off, it's a sedan – well, "four-door coupe" – but is said to have a hatchback configuration. Autoblog has also learned that the car will be powered by a hybrid powertrain, using a TSI gasoline engine paired with two electric motors, and uses an all-wheel-drive configuration that's likely similar to that in the recently unveiled Cross Coupe GTE concept. Volkswagen says this showcar uses a new, progressive design language for the brand. And while it sort of looks like a dead ringer for a new CC, we're told this concept is positioned above that model. For now, that's all we know, but we expect a host of other details to be released closer to the car's official debut in Geneva next week. Stay tuned. Former Porsche execs charged with stock manipulation in Germany
Wed, Aug 19 2015The ongoing indictment of top Porsche executives for alleged stock manipulation during the attempted takeover of Volkswagen has taken years to reach an actual decision, but a trial date has finally been set for October 22. In addition to former CEO Wendelin Wiedeking (pictured above) and ex-CFO Holger Haerter, prosecutors have also added Anton Hunger, who was communications boss at the time, to the list of those charged, according to Reuters. The men purportedly made false statements to investors about plans to acquire 75 percent of VW stock. The prosecutor also dropped charges against Ferdinand Piech and Wolfgang Porsche in the same case, Reuters reports. The two Porsche family members were on the company's board at the time, but investigators found that they had no role in making the false statements. If found guilty, the former Porsche execs could face up to five years in prison. As expected, lawyers for Wiedeking and Haerter have repeatedly denied any wrongdoing by their clients. The investigation into Porsche SE's actions during the failed VW takeover go back to at least 2009 when the firm's offices were raided. Wiedeking and Haerter were eventually indicted in 2012. A Stuttgart court initially dismissed the case for lack of evidence, but in 2014 that decision was reversed on appeal. At the same time, investors have brought multiple civil lawsuits against the company, but none of those cases have been successful.
