This posting is for a 1968 VW Baja beetle. This Beetle runs, drives. The autostick transmission works great. There is some rust on the car. I didnt see anything rusted trough though. the floor pan under the battery looks good. all of the seats are there just in rough shape. It does need some cleaning up. So it would be good to bring a tow truck or a trailer. This has been sitting in my storage yard or a while. the tires have air but they are dry rotted. I put new gas in it it idles nice. I set the timing in it. The oil is good. This has had the fiberglass kit put on it. The rear engine part has been caged in and the rear section of the car has been cut out. This has had a ton of stuff done to it but it has been sitting for a while and need some love to go have some fun in it. This is by no means a piece of junk this is a great car. My friend had it fixed up for his daughter to drive but she didnt like it so it has just sat for a while. Now it is time to get it to someone that will take care of it and be able to enjoy it. I will post some pictures of it. I have sold a couple cars on here and motors and stuff. I like to think I am pretty mechanical and I have never had anyone complain because I do my absolute best to check everything over and make sure I list all if any issues with my items especially a big purchase like a car. This has a clean and clear pink slip. Please feel free to email me with any questions. Like I said I will post some pictures of this to go with the video but the video pretty much tells the story. Thank you for looking and happy bidding.
PLEASE SEE LINK FOR WALK AROUND VIDEO
SINCE THIS WAS POSTED I PUT A BATTERY IN IT AND I ALSO FIXED THE TICKING. THERE WAS JUST A VACCUME LEAK. IT STILL DOES IT A LITTLE BIT BUT NOT BAD. I JUST THINK IT NEEDS A LITTLE LOVE. I HAVE SEEN THESE GOING FOR QUITE A BIT ON HERE. GET THIS ONE AT A DEAL WHILE YOU CAN. THIS WOULD MAKE A GREAT LITTLE TOY FOR SOMEONE. YOU CAN DRIVE IT AWAY. I WOULD TOW IT OR TRAILER IT THOUGH BECAUSE OF THE TIRES.

Porsche CEO Oliver Blume will be installed as head of the VW brand
Wed, Jun 3 2020Volkswagen Chief Executive Herbert Diess is planning to promote Porsche CEO Oliver Blume to take over as the head of the VW brand, according to a report from Auto Motor und Sport. Citing company sources, the German site said Bernhard Maier, who currently sits at the head of VW's Skoda brand, will lead Porsche in Blume's place. A shuffle at VW isn't surprising. The last thing Volkswagen needs as it transitions away from its long-running "clean diesel" TDI fiasco and into a clean electric ID future is negative press surrounding its burgeoning electrified lineup. Unfortunately, the ID.3 launch has been marred by software issues, with Manager magazine citing company engineers saying "the basic architecture was developed too hastily." Because of that underlying issue, various modules "often do not understand each other" and suffer dropouts. The brand-new eighth-generation Golf launch was also troubled and pushed back due to software problems. And more recently, Volkswagen was forced to pull an advertisement after admitting it was racist and insulting. That marketing misstep, according to the report, will lead to the firing of Chief Marketing Officer Jochen Sengpiehl. Related Video:
Child cobalt miners: Automakers pledge ethical minerals sourcing for EVs
Wed, Nov 29 2017BERLIN - Leading carmakers including Volkswagen and Toyota pledged on Wednesday to uphold ethical and socially responsible standards in their purchases of minerals for an expected boom in electric vehicle production. Demand for minerals such as cobalt, graphite and lithium is forecast to soar in the coming years as governments crack down on vehicle pollution and carmakers step up their investments in electric models. To cover its plans for more than 80 new models by 2025, Volkswagen alone is looking for partners in China, Europe and North America to provide battery cells and related technology worth more than 50 billion euros ($59 billion). Talks with major cobalt producers, including Glencore, at VW's Wolfsburg headquarters last week ended without a deal. More than half of the world's cobalt comes from the Democratic Republic of Congo, a country racked by political instability and legal opacity, and where child labor is used in mines. On Wednesday, a group of 10 leading passenger-car and truck manufacturers announced an initiative to jointly identify and address ethical, environmental, human and labor rights issues in raw materials sourcing. The partnership dubbed "Drive Sustainability" consists of VW, Toyota Motor Europe, Ford, Daimler, BMW, Honda, Jaguar Land Rover, Volvo Cars and truckmakers Scania and Volvo. The alliance "will assess the risks posed by the top raw materials (such as mica, cobalt, rubber and leather) in the automotive sector," said Stefan Crets of the CSR Europe business network. "This will allow Drive Sustainability to identify the most impactful activities to pursue" to address issues within the supply chain.Reporting by Andreas Cremer.Related Video: Image Credit: Michael Robinson Chavez/The Washington Post via Getty Images Green BMW Ford Honda Jaguar Land Rover Mercedes-Benz Automakers Toyota Volkswagen Volvo Green Automakers Green Culture Electric Scania ethics mining
VW could look outside its own ranks for next CEO
Fri, Feb 27 2015Companies have two options when coming up with succession plans – hire within, or go outside its ranks. Either choice comes with advantages and disadvantages, to be sure. Hiring within means generally getting someone familiar with the company and its culture and traditions, while going outside is ideal if you're looking to shake things up and bring in fresh ideas. It's unclear which avenue the Volkswagen Group will go down when it comes time to replace its head man, Herr Professor Doctor Doctor Herr Martin Winterkorn, but he isn't ruling out a trip outside of Wolfsburg. Winterkorn has already given the reins of the VW brand to former BMW board member Herbert Diess, while Andreas Renschler, a former Daimler board member, is heading up VW's truck group. Now, Winterkorn has made some statements to a German weekly that indicate the most important thing about his successor isn't necessarily his (or her, though no women appear to be on the short-list) previous employer, Motoring.com.au is reporting, so much as his qualities as a leader and an engineering background. "A Volkswagen boss has to have a big affinity to our products. He needs to be close to customers and he needs to have a relationship with dealers," Winterkorn told Stern. "Like always, it depends on the personality and it also helps if the candidate is an engineer." Motoring throws out a couple of potential candidates from within, including Porsche boss Mathias Muller, Audi Chairman Rupert Stadler and engineering guru Ulrich Hackenberg, in addition to both Diess and Renschler. And while each candidate has a lot of potential, the only thing that's guaranteed right now is what Winterkorn has already said: "The decision about who will succeed me is not an easy one for the supervisory board."
