VERY NICE'73 SUPERBEETLE. UNBELIEVABLE NEW PAINT IN ORIGINAL MARS RED. RECENT ENGINE OVERHAUL. EVERYTHING WORKS. RUNS, SHIFTS, DRIVES EXCELLENT. JUST NEEDS SOME INTERIOR WORK SUCH AS NEW FOAM IN FRONT SEATS, DASH (LOOKS OK WITH DASH COVER BUT WOULD BE BETTER WITH NEW DASH) MATTING BELOW INSIDE OF REAR WINDOW NEEDS TO BE RE-ATTACHED. DRIVER SEAT ROCKS A BIT IF YOU PUSH IT SIDE TO SIDE, FRONT PASSENGER SEAT CAME OFF THE TRACK WHEN I PUSHED IT FORWARD TO TRY TO CLEAN THE BACK SEAT, I'LL TRY TO PUT IT BACK, STEERING WHEEL NOT PERFECT, I DID NOT LIKE THE CARPET THE PREVIOUS OWNER INSTALLED BECAUSE IT GOT IN THE WAY OF THE PEDALS SO I HAD THE PAINTER JUST PAINT THE INSIDE OF THE FIREWALL WITH THE REST OF THE CAR AND I ADDED SOME WOVEN MATS. I THINK IT LOOKS COOL BUT YOU MAY NOT. REAR SEAT WON'T FOLD DOWN BECAUSE THE LAST OWNER PUT TOO MUCH FOAM, FOUR INCH SPACE ABOVE DRIVER WHERE HEADLINER IS COMING OUT A BIT. ORIGINAL SAPPHIRE RADIO WORKS WELL, CLOCK WORKS BUT IS SLOW, ALL LIGHTS WORK, NEW SHOCKS AND STRUTS, EXCELLENT BRAKES...BASICLY A STUNNING SUPERBEETLE THAT NEEDS SOME ATTENTION TO DETAIL ON THE INTERIOR BUT RUNS, DRIVES, AND LOOKS AWESOME. I PAID A LOCAL "EXPERT" A TON OF MONEY TO GET IT PERFECT, AND GOT SHAFTED AND THE WORK DID NOT GET DONE. STILL THE BEST SUPER BEETLE I'VE SEEN IN A LONG TIME. I WILL ANSWER QUESTIONS AS BEST AS I CAN. THANKS FOR LOOKING.

Autoblog Minute: VW Emissions Scandal, New Ford Super-Duty
Fri, Sep 25 2015We got our first looks at look at Ford's new Super Duty truck lineup this week but it's Volkswagen that has been dominating the news cycle, as Matthias Muller is named CEO of the embattled automaker. Autoblog's Senior editor Greg Migliore reports on the recap edition of Autoblog Minute. Show full video transcript text [00:00:00] We got our first looks at look at Ford's new Super Duty truck lineup this week but it's Volkswagen that has dominated the news cycle as Matthias Muller is named CEO of the embattled automaker. I'm Senior editor Greg Migliore and this is your Autoblog Minute Weekly Recap. Super Duty is new for 2017. Our first look at these heavy duty trucks showed increased cab space for passengers, and [00:00:30] a lighter aluminum frame. Ford insists these changes will provide customers with increased towing capacity and fuel efficiency. The all-new Super Duty will be built at Ford's Kentucky Truck Plant, and it goes on sale in late 2016. Now, in case you missed it Volkswagen is under fire for gaming EPA emissions testing. A massive government recall is in the works and the world's top-selling automaker is looking at significant losses in both car sales and its stock value. On top of losing billions of dollars, Volkswagen is also facing [00:01:00] legal issues. And this week we saw Martin Winterkorn step down as CEO of Volkswagen Group. These changes mark just the beginning of VW's arduous process of rebuilding consumer trust. Those are the highlights from the week that was. Be sure to check out my full recap this Saturday, plus some added insight on the Buick Cascada and its pricing strategy. For Autoblog, I'm Greg Migliore. Autoblog Minute is a short-form video news series reporting on all things automotive. Each segment offers a quick and clear picture of what's happening in the automotive industry from the perspective of Autoblog's expert editorial staff, auto executives, and industry professionals.
VW beams in Star Trek stars to promote e-Golf EV
Tue, Oct 7 2014Volkswagen just set its e-mobility commercial phasers on stunning. The German automaker has cast Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock of Star Trek fame (i.e., actors William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy) in a new advertisement for its growing stable of electric vehicles. Even though it's in German, we think you can get the idea. VW went Hollywood and cast the two veteran actors in a futuristic-themed 45-second ad, which sees Shatner cruise up in the e-Golf (with a toothy Trek-fan kid in tow) while Nimoy rocks the XL1 and the Trek theme blares in the background. Forget for a moment that the kid in the commercial wasn't even born when Shatner started pitching for Priceline, let alone the original Trek series and just enjoy the wholesome good humor of Shatner saying that the electric powertrain is just like the one in a spaceship. If you've got any familiarity with Spock, you should be able to understand his punch line, too. Of course, if you'd rather your German vehicle advertisements were set in the Star Wars universe, we recommend clicking here. VW will bring the e-Golf to the states in November at a price of $35,445, about $6,500 higher than the Nissan Leaf's starting pricetag. You can see the new ad and a number of related behind-the-scenes videos (in English) below. Our Quick Spin of the E-up! are available here. This content is hosted by a third party. This semi-autonomous stroller from VW is a great idea
Thu, Aug 13 2015We're still on the fence about the prospect of autonomous vehicles. On the one hand, they promise to make commuting a breeze and collisions a thing of the past. On the other, they stand to take us away from the steering wheel, and that's something we can't abide. But an autonomous stroller, now that's the kind of idea we can get behind. Shame such a thing doesn't exist... right? That's what we assumed until we saw this spot from Volkswagen. The German automaker's Dutch office posted on Facebook, asking the public for suggestions on how the company might improve other products, aside from automobiles. The most popular response was a baby stroller with automatic braking. So they went ahead and built one. The resulting prototype – and we're sorry to report that it's just a prototype for the time being – doesn't just have automatic braking. It can even follow the parent (or nanny or whomever) around under its own power and with its own steering. It's got the adaptive cruise control sensor from a Golf and is programmed to keep a fixed distance from the guardian in front. Or so the video suggests, at any rate. There's a good chance that there's some manner of trickery going on here, probably in the form of a hidden engineer off-screen with a remote control, and hopefully without an actual baby on board. Whether it's real or not, the invention in the commercial is sure to pique the interest of the parents among us, and maybe get those without kids thinking about taking that big step... stroller autonomously in tow.
