1969 Volkswagen Beetle on 2040-cars
Oxford, Mississippi, United States
This auction is for a 1969 Volkswagen Beetle. It runs, drives and looks very nice. The engine is a dual port 1600cc. The engine runs great and has no issues. The transmission is a 4-speed and shifts fine and has no issues. The following are in working condition: Head lights both bright and dim, turn signals, turn signal indicators, hazard flasher, interior courtesy light, fuel gauge, speedometer, mileage indicator, heater works, radio works but has only the one dash speaker, windows roll up and down fine. The mileage indicates around 4000 but I am sure this is not correct. All the glass is in good condition with no breaks or cracks. The Headliner is in very good condition The tires are in good condition. The floor pans are very nice and solid. The Body is in very good condition and showing no signs of rust. The paint is driver quality with great shine but has rock chips that have been touched up. Recently installed new carpet, door panels, floor mats, shocks, brake linings and hoses, and wheel bearings. The horn and reverse lockout do not work. The window felts and rubber are original and showing there age. This is a great little Beetle that runs, looks and drives very well. It has plenty of power and would make a great car for someone. I require a $250.00 non-refundable deposit via paypal within 48 hours of auction end date with the remaining balance due within 7 days of auction end date. I will take cash or a bank wire transfer or a cleared check before the clear title is released. I can deliver within 300 miles for $2.00 per mile. As with all old used cars there is no warranty with this car. I encourage anyone interested to come take a look or send a representative before purchase. If you have any questions my name is Mike and I can be reached at 662-816-8280. Thanks. |

Volkswagen looking to acquire Proton, Lotus?
Thu, 26 Jul 2012Let's say you're an automaker bent on world domination looking to grow your sales. That's going to have you looking at Asian markets, because that's where some of the biggest growth has been, and that's exactly what Volkswagen is doing as it considers making another run at Malaysia's Proton.
Reuters reports that Volkswagen is interested in at least a partial stake, if not a controlling interest in Lotus-parent Proton as a way to continue a production presence in the region without having to build its own factory.
Volkswagen already builds the Passat in a DRB-HICOM facility in Pekan, Malaysia, and plans are in place to build the Jetta and Polo there, as well. With both southeast Asia and its relationship with Proton figuring so importantly in Volkswagen's plans for expansion, buying into Proton can help ensure stability. Volkswagen is being tight-lipped about the whole idea, but CEO Martin Winterkorn did recently say, "it's our clear goal to continue the successful (expansion) course of past years with great dynamics and stability," which sounds an awful lot like deals are on the table to smooth the path to further growth.

Also, in honor of episode 505, here is a picture of a Peugeot 505. The rundown is below.
