I am listing my 1964 vw bug. I am trying to finish another of my vehicles, bug this one is so darn clean and original, other than the 2" dropped spindles, and dropped in back. This would be perfect for driving as is, painting and restoring....
There is original brochures, showing the car they picked out new. Sold here in colorado brand new at mt. States vw. I have never had one this clean as far as damage or rust, as it is only starting to bubble on very lower corners, and very very small amount on 1 rear bumper mount, and a small touch inside rear wheel well as shown. It has never been hit, and all panels line up nice, doors shut like they should, as does hood and rear deck. Twist handle locks down deck lid, and inside hood release works, and shuts tight with a finger push. Nose is super nice where the tire sits, and bumper attaches. No rust, no hits. Pan is super clean, title matches front tag, and vin, and still retains its original 1200 engine, with 6 volts. Car has been painted at some time but just as a protectant, no body work done, as there are small dings on fenders still. Seats have cheap seat covers, as the original brown and tan striped seats are underneath, but in need of recovering. Headliner is nice, but needs repair around window. The radio does not work.
The headlights all work- high and low, turn signals, running lights, horn, dash lights all work, even interior Light comes on with either door. Just a nice un messed with 50 year old vw. Last of the small windows. The heater cranks on this, it is hot, and defroster works great!!! No smell with windows rolled up and heat on.. Clean heat. Still has some of its original tools in the nose. Gets lots of looks where it goes.
The car runs great, fast idle works, and kicks down. Car is quite... Sounds like a vw. I was driving it yesterday, and ran perfect, down the highway at 55-65 no problem. I put about 80 miles on it with temp being about 85 out. It rides good to. The previous owner put the dropped spindles on the front, and lowered the rear also. I was going to put some brm wheels on it, and leave it alone. The doors still lock with its original key. Good color the panama beige. I have some paperwork from 1990 when it went in for some service and had 68,000 miles on it then. Just a nice un-hit almost 100% rust free early vw. This will be very hard to replace, or upgrade for the money...
It is colorado titled and insured in my name. Car will not be released until funds 100% clear my bank! cashiers check! or personal- either. Please don't show up with either prepared to take it, unless verified Wells Fargo check... Or of corse cash... The reserve on this will be under $5,000!!!! I will include a low buy it now, but once reserve is met, it will go away... Please ask any questions if you have any before bidding. If you have less than 10+ FEEDBACKS! you mugs email before bidding! or I may cancel your bid. These are getting very hard to find, rust free and unhit, and a 64 or earlier.
I have tried to describe his as accurate as possible, not some 1 line description as a lot of cars listed.

I forgot to mention Also----- I have a new 6 volt battery recently installed, and car does have its spare, just took it out for nose photos....

Volkswagen Group launches Truck and Bus GmbH

Tue, May 5 2015

Volkswagen is not only one of the largest automakers in the world – it's also one of the biggest producers of commercial vehicles. Not just vans like the Caddy and Crafter, but proper trucks and buses. And now it's reorganizing them all under the newly incorporated Truck & Bus GmbH. The new division brings VW's two truck manufacturers MAN and Scania under one roof. MAN is, after all, wholly owned by Volkswagen, and in turn holds over 75 percent of the shares in Scania (as well as MAN Latin America). Along with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, they make the Volkswagen Group one of the largest truck manufacturers in the world, behind Daimler and Volvo (the truck manufacturer is separate from the automaker). Although VW Commercial Vehicles will apparently not form part of Truck & Bus GmbH (since it makes smaller vans more than trucks and buses), it will also report to Andreas Renschler, the Volkswagen board member in charge of the company's work vehicle operations. Renschler previously served in a similar role at Daimler. In a bit of a reversal – or a sign of things to come – Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn (who just survived a failed overthrow attempt by ousted chairman Ferdinand Piech) will sit as chair of the supervisory board of Truck & Bus GmbH. Wolfsburg, 05 May 2015 Volkswagen creates integrated commercial vehicles group • Truck & Bus GmbH to become holding for commercial vehicle brands • Prof. Martin Winterkorn: "MAN and Scania will together become global champion" • Board Member for Commercial Vehicles Andreas Renschler: "MAN and Scania brands retain their independence" • Works Council Chairman Bernd Osterloh: "The holding strengthens employees' participation rights" Volkswagen is creating the integrated commercial vehicles group and thus putting in place a structured framework for business with mid-sized and heavy trucks and buses. Truck & Bus GmbH is to become the new Volkswagen Group holding for the MAN und Scania commercial vehicle brands. This was decided yesterday (Monday) by the Supervisory Board of Volkswagen AG. To this end, the shares in Scania AB held by Volkswagen AG will be transferred to Truck & Bus GmbH. The wholly-owned Volkswagen subsidiary already holds 75.28 percent of the voting rights in MAN SE. Truck & Bus GmbH will establish processes specific to the commercial vehicles business, thus leveraging the full synergy potential between the brands.

Subaru WRX vs. Volkswagen GTI | Under-$30K fun

Mon, Aug 7 2017

If financing a new car purchase for 60 months, you'll spend roughly $200/month for those five years on every $10K you finance. Subaru's WRX and Volkswagen's GTI, each with a base price of around $25K (which equates to roughly $400/month with 20 percent down) can easily become $40K (in WRX STI and Golf R trim). That extra $15,000 will cost you almost $300/month over the life of a 60-month payment book. A $40K Subaru or Volkswagen is cheap in terms of enjoying the additional performance, but if your goal is only to get places in a fast hatch or sedan, you can keep your outlay far closer to the base price. Just mind the options. VW GTI: In the increasingly popular hot hatch segment, the GTI was arguably the first. Based on the revolutionary (for the mid-'70s) Golf hatchback, the GTI offered upgraded power, improved handling and just enough cosmetic enhancements to let others know you were driving something special. Consumer response was immediate, and imitators came out of the woodwork. Now in its seventh iteration (as of the 2015 model year), the GTI has consistently evolved. Its 2.0-liter turbocharged four makes 210 horsepower and — more important in day-to-day driving — 258 pound-feet of torque. Its footprint remains comfortably small, with easy access to front and rear seats and, if you need to carry something large, it has an expansive hatch and fold-down rear seat. Like most of the VW/Audi family, its interior design and appointment bat well above the $25,000 price point. Whether selecting the six-speed manual transmission or six-speed DSG automatic, know that a responsive, agile hatchback is just a throttle tip-in away. It's perfect for the in-town commute, weekend getaway or cross-country romp. And it appeals to a wide demographic, so resale value will remain high. Subaru WRX: This once was a performance derivative not shared with American consumers. But with its success globally, Subaru brought the WRX to the States, with the high-performance STI variant not long after. Having been offered in the U.S. as a sedan, wagon and hatchback, today's WRX is available only as a four-door sedan. As on every Subaru available in the U.S. (except the BRZ), all-wheel drive is standard. Power is supplied by a turbocharged flat four displacing 2.0 liters but upping the horsepower to 268, while available torque is numerically identical to the GTI's at 258 pound-feet.

Import pickup truck-killing Chicken Tax to be repealed?

Tue, Jun 30 2015

After over 50 years, the so-called Chicken Tax may finally be going the way of the dodo. Two pending trade deals with countries in the Pacific Rim and Europe potentially could open the US auto market up to imported trucks, if the measures pass. Although, it still might be a while before you can own that Volkswagen Amarok or Toyota Hilux, if ever. The 25-percent import tariff that the Chicken Tax imposes on foreign trucks essentially makes the things all but impossible to sell one profitably in the US, which lends a distinct advantage to domestic pickups. Both the Trans-Pacific Partnership with 12 counties and Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership with the European Union would finally end the charge. According to Automotive News though, don't expect new pickups to flood the market, at least not immediately. These deals might roll back the tariff gradually over time, and in the case of Japan, it could be as long as 25 years before fully free trade. Furthermore, Thailand, a major truck builder in Asia, isn't currently part of the deal, and any new models here would still need to meet safety and emissions rules, as well. Automotive News gauged the very early intentions of several automakers with foreign-built trucks, and they weren't necessarily champing at the bit to start imports. Toyota thinks the Hilux sits between the Tundra and Tacoma, and Mazda doesn't think the BT-50 fits its image here. Also, VW doesn't necessarily want to bring the Amarok over from Hannover. There is previous precedent for companies at least considering bringing in pickup trucks after the Chicken Tax's demise, though. The Pacific free trade deal could be done as soon as this fall, while the EU one is likely further out, according to Automotive News. Given enough time, the more accessible ports could allow some new trucks to enter the market.
