1954 FORMER CALIFORNIA CLASSIC VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE WITH SEMAPHORES-STOCK
There are not many of these "Fifty-Eight Year Old," 1954 VW Stock Classic beauties. It was owned and Garaged by a VW Mechanic in California and now owned by me in Edmundston New Brunswick. The 36 HP Stock Engine was Rebuilt, now has 2450 miles . The Transmission was also redone. The car has 60,270 Original miles on it. It has Working Semaphores, New Brakes, a New Battery, and the 6 Volts System. The Chrome is all redone with and Chrome Molding, Headlights. It has the Heart Shaped Tail Lights. Pans are great. All the Numbers are Matching. Everything works. The radio is not connected but the Speaker and Mounting Plate is included. There are Back Seat Belts. It has the period lever for the Reserve Gas. The windshield spray washer works. Period Cocoa Mats adorn this beauty. This beauty was stored for over 35 years before re-furbishing this car. The spare tire is just prime painted and the round VW tool box is not included with the car.
The owner before me repainted the Classic with the 1954 "Cognac Metallic L352" VW Color four years ago. It has the Wool Headliner with Creme Cloth Meterial and Brown Pipping Interior, that was just redone period style. There is of course minor normal wear. The dash is Uncut. Clear title. Nice AAA Emblem with it.
The rear drivers side fender has a dent in it and the rear apron has a few air bubbles caused by extensive heat from the muffler and I installed a heat barrier to take care of that.
This is not a showroom beetle but a head-turner, I assure you. A very nice beetle. This is a rare find.
Buyer is responsible for the tranportation fees and arrangements transport.I also have a "Birth Certificate" of this 1954 Classic from Germany. I also have an estimate of vehicle that was done in 2008. A- U.S.A. appraisal. A beetle car cover included. Thank you.
My BEETLE is a very rare fine.

CARB found another emissions-defeating device, this time from Audi
Mon, Nov 7 2016The California Air Resources Board has discovered another emissions-cheating device on an Audi earlier this summer, reports German newspaper Bild am Sonntag. The device is different from the software found in the VW Group's diesel-powered engines, as it alters the way the cars' automatic transmission shifts. The latest device, according to Bild am Sonntag, measures how far the cars' steering wheel is being turned. If the wheel is turned less than 15 degrees, indicating that the vehicle is being tested in laboratory conditions, a program in cars with certain automatic transmissions changes the way the gearbox shifts. The change in the transmission allows the engine to produce less carbon dioxide than when driving in normal conditions. When the wheel is turned more than 15 degrees, the program automatically turns off, claims Bild am Sonntag. The paper reports that Audi took the software out of its vehicles, which was used in both diesel- and gasoline-powered vehicles in Europe and the US, earlier this May after CARB discovered the program on one of the automaker's older cars. Several engineers that were connected with the emissions-cheating device have already been suspended, reports Bild am Sonntag. As the German newspaper points out, the device, which is fitted to certain Audis with an automatic transmission, is different from the cheat devices found on the automaker's 3.0-liter TDI turbodiesel V6 engine and Volkswagen's 2.0-liter turbodiesel motor, even those were also designed to beat emissions tests. The 3.0-liter engine is found in the Audi Q7, Volkswagen Touareg, and Porsche Cayenne models. Audi didn't immediately respond to our request for a comment. Rimac inks deal to purchase 55% of Bugatti from VW Group
Mon, Jul 5 2021ZAGREB, Croatia — Croatian electric supercar builder Rimac is taking over the iconic French manufacturer Bugatti in a deal that is reported to be worth millions of euros. Rimac said GermanyÂ’s Volkswagen Group, including the Porsche division — which owns a majority stake in Bugatti — plans to create a new joint venture. The new company will be called Bugatti-Rimac. Rimac Automobili announced Monday that it will be combining forces with Bugatti to “create a new automotive and technological powerhouse.” Rimac has progressed in 10 years from a one-man garage startup to a successful company that produces electric supercars. Mate Rimac, who founded the company in 2009, says the venture is an “exciting moment” and calls the combination of the companies “a perfect match for each other.” Porsche will own 45% of Bugatti-Rimac while Rimac Automobili will hold the remaining 55% stake, according to Croatian media reports. Financial details of the deal were not published. Bugattis will continue to be assembled in eastern France, where the company was established in 1909. The vehicles will use engines developed and made in Croatia. “In an industry evolving at ever-increasing speed, flexibility, innovation and sustainability remain at the very core of RimacÂ’s operations," the company said. “Uniting RimacÂ’s technical expertise and lean operations with BugattiÂ’s 110-year heritage of design and engineering prowess represents a fusion of leading automotive minds." Which will Dieselgate hurt more, Volkswagen or US diesels?
Tue, Sep 22 2015The most damning response to the news Volkswagen skirted emissions regulations for its diesel models may have actually come from the Los Angeles Times. On Saturday, the Times published an editorial titled "Did Volkswagen cheat?" The answer was undoubtedly yes. When you can't drive down Santa Monica Boulevard without seeing an average of one VW TDI per block, the following words are pretty striking: "... Americans should be outraged at the company's cynical and deliberate efforts to violate one of this country's most important environmental laws." VW has successfully cultivated a strong, environmentally conscious reputation for its TDI Clean Diesel technology, especially in states where emissions are strictly controlled. A statement like that is like blood all over the opinion section of the Sunday paper. The effect on VW's business, even Germany's financial health, was already felt Monday when the company's shares plummeted 23 percent in morning trading. The statement on Sunday from VW CEO Dr. Martin Winterkorn says "trust" three times. That probably wasn't enough in nine sentences. Writers over the weekend have compared VW's crisis to one at General Motors 30 years ago, when it was the largest seller of diesel-powered passenger cars until warranty claims over an inadequate design and ill-informed technicians effectively pulled the plug on the technology at GM. In a sense, VW is in the same boat as GM because it has fired a huge blow into its own reputation and that of diesels in passenger cars. And just as automakers like Jaguar Land Rover, BMW and, ironically, GM, were getting comfortable with it again in the US. VW of America was already knee-deep in its other problems this year. Its core Jetta and Passat models are aging and it needs to wait more than a year for competitive SUVs that American buyers want. The TDIs were the only continuous bright spot in the line and on the sales charts. Even as fuel prices fell and buyers shunned hybrids, VW managed to succeed with diesels and show that Americans actually care about and accept the technology again. Fervent TDI supporters might actually lobby for that maximum $18 billion fine to VW. I've personally convinced a number of people to look at a TDI instead of a hybrid. Perhaps not so much for stop-and-go traffic, but I know buyers who liked the idea that a TDI drove like a normal car and wasn't packed with batteries.
