Toyota Yaris 2007 4-door Sedan: 60k Mi, Blue Ext, Gray Int, Auto Trans on 2040-cars
Port Washington, New York, United States
|
Condition
Condition was mostly described above. One accident in May 2007 which was fully repaired. Regular service and maintenance performed over the years. New tires at end of 2012. Smoke-free interior. Small scratches on outside. Front fender is a bit faded. Condition is good, as expected for a car that is about ~7 years old. Car has only been in one accident, (ironically enough) this accident was actually only a few months after the car was purchased (05/24/2007). It was a low-speed front collision -- the airbag did deploy, but the damage was limited to the front fender/headlights. A full repair was completed at a Geico-certified dealer in Port Washington, NY and no issues related to this accident have been seen in the intervening 7 years. For the next 4 years of the car's life, it mostly lived in Long Island, NY. I took it for regular service at the Toyota Premium dealer, Penn Toyota, in Greenvale, NY. In 2011, I moved to Virginia, and continued getting car services at Brown Toyota and a local Meineke Car Care Center. Most recently, on 08/21/2012, I did a full tire replacement of all four tires of the car. You can confirm this via CarFax if you like. There is some body wear-and-tear (as expected for car's age), most notably some small scratches (mostly paint-level) on the front right fender which you can see in photos. The interior is in full working order, clean & fresh. Same for trunk. All original mats etc. which were regularly washed / vacuumed / cleaned at car wash. In general, I took very good care of the car overall and think it's a great car, especially for city driving and parking (due to its compact size and excellent gas mileage). Mileage per-year mileage at around 9,000, which is very low. The car drives great. Car will include some extras:
History I am the original owner. I financed the car through Toyota Financial Services. Shipping & Payment I have the Virginia Car Title which I can transfer over when the car is purchased. Car is being held in Port Washington, NY and can be picked up from there. Title Transfer Process is described here. Expecting a deposit of $500 via Paypal, with the remainder paid via Cashier's Check. |

Camry, Avalon Hybrids involved in stop-sale of 50,000 Toyota vehicles
Thu, Jan 30 2014A number of popular Toyota vehicles can currently not be sold thanks to something called a "stop-sale" order. The reason is that the seat heater on these vehicles - which include the 2013 and 2014 Camry, Camry Hybrid, Avalon, Avalon Hybrid, Sienna, Corolla, Tacoma and Tundra models - "does not meet a provision of US Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) requiring materials to retard flame at a specified rate." In other words, the seat heater could burn too fast. There have been no reports of fires or injuries due to the issue. Toyota told AutoblogGreen that around 50,000 vehicles are affected. No Scion or Lexus vehicles have the problem. The exact fix has not been identified, but Toyota said it is preparing a modification for all vehicles still on dealer lots, but there has not yet been an official recall. Instead, Toyota filed a "Non-Compliance Information Report" with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) today. You can read Toyota's official statement below. Toyota and NHTSA are also looking at around 30,000 2007-2008 model year Camry Hybrids for brake issues. Seat Heater Non-Compliance Issue Creates Temporary Stop Sale On Certain Toyota Models January 30, 2014 Toyota has informed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that it has initiated a stop sale of certain Avalon, Avalon Hybrid, Camry, Camry Hybrid, Corolla, Sienna, Tacoma and Tundra vehicles equipped with seat heaters in order to address a non-compliance issue. In involved vehicles, the seat heater, which is a small portion of the soft materials of the seat assembly, does not meet a provision of U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) requiring materials to retard flame at a specified rate. Toyota is preparing a modification for this condition, which will be implemented on all covered vehicles in dealer inventory. There have been no reports globally of any related incidents in the field with units in operation. Per NHTSA regulations, Toyota will file a Non-Compliance Information Report today. BMW could have a fuel cell vehicle by 2020
Sat, Jun 20 2015The Ultimate Driving Machine may start emitting water vapor, which may not thrill gearheads but could be good for the environment. BMW may have a hydrogen fuel-cell electric vehicle to sell as soon as the end of the decade, UK's Auto Express says, citing people familiar with the process that it didn't identify. And the model will likely be sold within the i sub-brand that includes the i3 electric vehicle and the i8 plug-in hybrid. "We are working on fuel cell development, but we are not able to comment on vehicle plans at this stage or timing at this point," BMW spokesman Dave Buchko wrote in an e-mail to AutoblogGreen on Thursday. Chatter about a potential BMW fuel-cell vehicle has been getting louder in recent months. Late last year, Autocar reported that BMW was mulling using Toyota's fuel-cell system for a version of what would be called the i5 (all the better to quietly cruise the interstate running up and down the West Coast, we guess). BMW and Toyota have been working together on accelerating the development of fuel-cell technology since 2013. Toyota has since made good on the effort of selling fuel-cell vehicles by introducing the Mirai in Japan last year and is preparing to start sales in California later this year. But BMW has been mum, so far. Toyota mints 10-millionth vehicle in Kentucky
Fri, 30 May 2014In 26 years, from 1988 up to now, the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky plant in Georgetown has built ten million vehicles - nearly enough for every citizen of Seoul, Korea or the nation of Hungary. The first car to roll off the line back when the claymation California Raisins were singing old Marvin Gaye hits and everybody wanted to know Who Framed Roger Rabbit? was a white Camry. The ten-millionth car to roll off the line among the Avalons and Venzas also produced there: a white Camry Hybrid.
Toyota has put $5.9 billion into the site since its inception, employment is up to 7,000 associates and will grow when Lexus ES350 assembly begins next year. Whereas car number one is a showpiece for the ages, one of the automaker's current associates will get to win the ten-millionth car in a blind drawing to be held this summer.
There's a press release below with more information on the impressive milestone.
