1985 Toyota 22re Sr5 Truck 4x4 on 2040-cars
Chandler, Arizona, United States
This Toyota 22re is truly a gem in the rough it's in great shape and has the solid axle, I hate to see it go but am in the process of purchasing a FJ to start working on so I've started selling all of my trucks. I originally bought this truck in Alabama and had it shipped to Arizona. While here I had the Engine completely gone through and everything replaced with Toyota Factory Parts. Everything used in this is factory OEM parts or Aisin for you fellow Toyota enthusiast out there. All work was done by one of the best Certified Toyota Mechanics in the Southwest at Toy Specialist the owner and primary mechanic has been a certified Toyota mechanic since 1971 and I have invested easily close to $5,000 dollars if not more in parts as well as labor. If I could not get the parts locally I purchased them from 22re Performance or with the help of the guys there. Currently it has a ProComp lift and sits on Master Craft 33's which are practically new mounted on Mickey Thompson wheels. I also ordered a toughdawg adjustable torque rod to help improve the braking since the original owners cut it to put on the lift. Tough Dog is an amazing company based out of Australia that specifically designs suspension and parts for hilux models for hard use. The frame is straight, and the body is in excellent shape overall it is also has the solid axle which Toyota quit putting in there trucks. It is a great rig that easily gives Jeeps a run for their money on the trails. This truck was originally purchased for me to be able to hunt in the mountains of Northern Arizona and New Mexico due to its size and reliability. All receipts for work done on this truck will come with the vehicle and were done within the last year. The list of parts that have gone into the engine is way to long to list here but honestly everything has been replaced all the way down to factory bolts. It only has 158000 miles on it which is light for these work horses. With that being said it does have a small transmission leak which should be easily repaired with a new seal. It also needs to have a new E Brake kit installed for the E Brake to work properly I ran the cable just did not get around to finishing the breaks the A/C is currently not working as well. I have many photos of this truck so if you want to see more just ask and I will email. Like I said I hate to see it go but I am starting a new project on a FJ. On a side note the mileage may fluctuate after initial purchase due to the fact that this has been almost a daily driver for me for the last year. Starts the first time everytime, drives smooth and easily gets up to 75 on the freeway. I also have some extra parts from the work that has been done on this truck that I will include for free these may include hoses, crank pulley's etc. If I were to keep it which I want to I was going to on put diff. armor replace the Pro comp lift with a Tough Dog lift including shocks and springs, and put on a bush guard with a winch along with running boards. Nothing really needs to be done that was just my plans for the rig. Again I do not need to sell this truck my wife would like me too, so if I do not get a reasonable offer which I think I have it listed at I won't sell period and I'll finish it keep it and get my FJ next year.. List of work and parts ALL DONE WITHIN THE LAST YEAR: New Front Break Calipers (Pads at about 45%) Brake Master Cylinder E-Brake Cable Battery Battery Cables Battery Terminals Connector Cover Timing Chain Timing Cover Gasket Oil Pump O-ring Oil Pump Seal Timing Chain Gaskets Air Induction Hoses 2 Fan shrouds Clips Ventilation Valves Water Pump Power Steering Bracket Ventilation Hose Radiator Hose's (All) Alternator Crankshaft Pulley Radiator Toy Oil Filter Valve adjustment Head Gasket New Plugs/Wires Valve Cover Gasket Thermostat Water Outlet gasket Stud bolts Lock nuts Exhaust manifold Water by-pass hoses and clips Exhaust Manifold gasket Distributor O-ring Distributor Cap Short elbow hose Oxygen sensor gasket Fuel Lines Throttle Positioning Sensor Exhaust Catalytic Conv Throttle Cable All of the bolts and nuts new factory. EVERYTHING OEM OR AISIN!!!!!!!!!!!! This truck is sold as is with no existing warranty everything described is to the best of my ability. I also have it listed locally and reserve the right to end this auction at anytime if I sell it locally. |

4 automakers agree to $553M settlement of Takata airbag claims
Thu, May 18 2017WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Four automakers agreed to a $553 million settlement to address class-action economic loss claims covering owners of nearly 16 million vehicles with potentially defective Takata airbag inflators, according to court documents filed on Thursday. Toyota's share of the settlement costs is $278.5 million, followed by BMW at $131 million, Mazda at $76 million and Subaru at $68 million. According to a press release from Plaintiffs' Committee for Takata Airbag Product Liability Litigation, the funds for the settlement are aimed at getting more cars with faulty airbags fixed. At the time of writing, Toyota had the greatest recall completion percentage of 31.89 percent followed by Subaru with 31.37 percent. Mazda has completed repairs on 18.16 percent of affected cars, and BMW brings up the rear with 16.48 percent completion. Some settlement funds will go to an outreach campaign to increase awareness, while other funds will be used to reimburse people for any costs accrued to get their cars fixed. These costs can include rental cars, child care, lost wages, or any other reasonable costs associated with bringing in a vehicle for repairs. Furthermore, a customer support program will be funded with settlement money to handle any additional repairs or adjustments that could become necessary in the 75,000 miles following the airbag replacement. Lawsuits against Honda, Ford and Nissan have not been settled, lawyers said. Takata inflators, which can explode with excessive force and unleash metal shrapnel inside cars and trucks, are blamed for at least 16 deaths and more than 180 injuries worldwide. The safety defect has prompted recalls worldwide of about 100 million inflators by more than a dozen major automakers. Toyota: One Bold Choice
Mon, Feb 2 2015Toyota paired paralympian Amy Purdy and the incomparable words of Muhammad Ali in its 2015 Super Bowl spot, How Great I Am. Interspersing cuts of Purdy triumphing over her disability with images of the new-for-2015 Camry, Toyota tied its ad in with the simple hastag, #OneBoldChoice. That said, we aren't sure how this spot will play for those who aren't familiar with Purdy's triumphant story. We've already sampled the refreshed Camry in a lengthy and comprehensive review, so head over and have a look.
2014 Toyota Corolla shows its new Euro-spec nose [w/poll]
Fri, 07 Jun 2013After tons of teasing, Toyota finally unveiled the all-new 2014 Corolla in the wee hours of the - at least to those of us here in the Midwest. The fresh new face of the US-spec car takes a number of cues from the Camry and Avalon sedans, and in S trim with the large alloy wheels and blacked-out front fascia, we'd even venture this is the most boldly styled North American Corolla to date (faint praise as that may be).
Of course, our friends in other markets will also be getting fully updated versions of the Corolla as well, and here, we're getting our first glimpse at the European-spec car, complete with a very different front fascia that, at least in this trim, seems to take a more conservative design approach. A quick poll of the Autoblog staff shows that we're torn as to whether or not we prefer this European look to our North American-specific car, but at least in the sporty-ish S trim, we think the Americans may have got the better end of the deal.
The Euro-spec Corolla actually shares a lot of its design with its larger platform-mate, the Auris, a car that we don't - and likely won't - get in the States. Inside, the European Corolla looks basically the same as the NA car, and while market-specific engines and specifications haven't been released yet, it's expected that the Corolla will share much of its dirty bits with the European Auris, as well.
